Because "wider audience" doesn't mean "people with toasters". It refers to a desire to take in the money from casuals and people who would never normally play X type of game. If you dumb down the gameplay but keep the game set in a pre-established world, you can appeal to casuals AND people who are going to buy it anyway because it has their favorite characters.

Because that market doesn't have money. If they did, they wouldn't have a shit computer, would they?

All the popular pay-to-wins and pay-to-plays like LoL, Dota 2, WoW, WoT, WoWP, WT, etc, can be run on toasters, anon.

Dota isn't pay2win at all (other than the shitty year beast mode which was total cancer). You can only buy cosmetics with money, nothing else.

Because ever since the 3D card wars, PC gaming has been more about developing "next-generation" grafics with "stunning realism," etc. catered to power users, and less about making fun games for people to play on their home office computer.
