How much of a transparent marketing gimmick is VR support in a voxel-based game game?

other than that it doesn't seem different enough from minecraft and don't really care about VR

So a sci-fi Minecraft with VR and better graphics? I don't really think its a good idea mainly because it just seems like those "WoW killer" clone type of games whose only appeal is "Its better than [Original game]!". VR as it is now is really a gimmick and I don't see it really changing the way you play. Who knows though, I might be wrong about this game.

Yeah, they seem to be taking VR seriously since they totally buy into it being The Future™, and good on them if they really think they can pull it off, but I just don't see it working out well

And the focus of the game seems to be player created stuff, also they say that aside from building and the general style, it's not much like minecraft, but it's hard to really make any solid opinions about it when they refuse to say anything about the game that isn't in the video

I mean, they direct people to an IRC to ask them questions instead of just writing shit down, which is kind of ridiculous

I think it may be best for me to wait for some more game play footage of the game to come out before I judge it.
