Seems to have one interesting maneuver with that backwards jump, but other than that the dashing to absorb gimmick looks pointless. I'll give it a fair review once I get it. Hopefully it won't be boring.

 No.17393

I stopped caring the moment I realized they got millions of dollars but couldn't even be bothered to draw their 2D sprites for a 2D game.

Yeah, the concept art looked better. 3D a shit.

>2 million dollars

What kind of a budget did Mega Man 8, Mega Man X, and Mega Man ZX have, for comparison?

 No.17399

Nope, never had any. $4 million dollars and they come out with this garbage? What a joke but Inafruad was not to be trusted to begin with.

It was never going to be a 2D game though, why were people expecting this from the start.

It will be disappointing because absorbing multiple abilities from enemies and bosses was taken out because of "tight budget", but they had enough time to add character DLC, do another kickstarter campaign(which completed), and start a fuckin' TV show and have the balls to claim they didn't use the kickstarter money.

They used every excuse in the book for everyone of their poor decisions and It is a game I will always reference when other kickstarter campaigns start doing the same questionable decisions.

That's all news to me. Other than the Dyna community fracas, I was not aware of any of that. But isn't Mighty just going to adopt new forms based on the other robots he defeats? You're telling me that's been cut?

>TV show

I was gonna say it just looks like the Battle Network anime again, judging by the one big guy in the supporting cast, but then I kept finding these screenshots and it dawned on me that they're going to do a Sonic Boom 3D shitfest. I'd rather have reruns of Reboot.

Didn't they try to pull the same shit with the ZX games? Make an anime out of it? I guess they figured if it worked for Battle Network, it would work for anything else they tried it on. Too bad they didn't try with the X series while it was still relevant, because that shit would have been awesome.

 No.17403

It honestly doesn't look that interesting to me, the bland sprites and stage doesn't help either also I feel that Beck looks weird when he moves.

Not as bad as I was expecting, but still not what I paid for.

 No.17407

Ignoring the kickstarters (didn't they have a second one for just the voice acting and it was more than reasonably necessary to hire decent VAs?) and all the controversy, the videos I've seen of it look incredibly boring. I think it was of one of the earlier levels so it makes sense it would be easier but something can still be easy and be interesting. It was so bland it was laughable. Same with the boss that was shown.

Unless there's something amazingly awful about it, which I doubt, it'll be forgotten quickly and there will be nothing to discuss. At least when something is terrible you can laugh at it and talk about it; I don't think this will even have that.

New trailer and it looks as bland as the previous footage.

The character's face style reminds me of something like Playmobil or Lego.

Either way they've also got a bunch of pre-order bonuses and a cheap looking figure. Since when is Minecraft retro?

The only hype I have is the hype that this game will fail terribly and that Inafune will finally just fucking die. Everything they've done is terrible, and I refuse to believe that almost 4 million dollars has been used to create such a bland looking piece of garbage. I was so hyped when this was announced and started with that whole OC craze the day the Kickstarter was up. This game has done nothing but disappoint. I don't think I'll ever trust Kickstarter again, regardless of whatever type of game it's trying to reboot or be a spiritual successor to.

Around when the PS1/Sega Saturn was first released, Capcom ported Mega Man X3 to 32-bit consoles, with redbook audio and anime cutscenes. The port isn't really considered any good though.

>Inakike.

>Creator of Megaman.

Nope and he never was. He even admitted it himself (1). On the first game he merely worked on some art but he didn't make the original concept which was done by Akira Kitamura who also directed the game(2)(3). Inakike made the concept for Zero but Capcom wanted a protagonist similar to Classic Megaman so they got someone else to come up with X. He's also the one responsible for pushing X out of the X series and turning him, the main character into a sub-character while giving Zero all the spotlight, screen time and better back story as shown in X4(1).

Sources:

(1): https://archive.is/Z6C6V An interview with Inakike from GameSpot in 07.

(2): Picture of Akira Kitamura I found after lurking a bit on Google, Akira is a unisex name in Japan so it isn't uncommon for females to have that name.

(3): https://archive.is/i9uUF Scroll down to the timeline and look through the classic series. The first two games were directed by Akira Kitamura who supposedly however left Capcom due creative restraints though this remains to be verified. There's been speculation that she had left to form a developer company called Takeru which had developed a game very similar to Megaman called Little Samson which looks and plays very similarly to Megaman.

Inakike was merely an artist who had only designed Zero and barely had any programming work either.

I wouldn't mind the series getting remade so that it would better connect to original MM games and eventually the Zero series. They could have it end at 5 or 6 since that's when it was supposed to end in the first place, I think.
