I'll prioritise 'game' over 'story'.
For example, if an area is cinematically collapsing behind me? I'll spend extra time looking around, because you just know there's some hidden item tucked away behind a burning bookshelf. That's possibly just bad game design.
Level grinding is a similar issue. You stop to grind on BS so you can use all your party equally in battle, even the useless pricks. Then in story missions you try to ration who you use, so one doesn't get more XP than the others. It just makes things less entertaining.
If extra dialogue is available, I'll go through it. But I'll only do it for completionism, so I don't miss anything. I don't enjoy it.
I kinda hate lame side quests, because I feel obliged to do them, but in reality I just wanna rush the main plot.
