Well how hard are you looking for? You won't find many games period that are more difficult than the arcade version of Gradius III. But it isn't exactly challenging in a fun way.

The most hardest that there possibly is. Something that takes plenty of patience and skill to complete. Though I'll try out the Gradius III arcade version since that seems to be what I am looking for.

There's a lone Raiden IV cab at my local arcade. I've always wanted to at least beat that game but it plays far too differently from other SHMUPS, given how much slower the ship moves.

Wow I can't believe people still complain about the ship speed in IV. That was something people would bitch about in III a lot but they made it faster for IV.
