GTA:O General Anonymous 03/23/15 (Mon) 18:14:37 25edd7 No. 6390
I play GTA:O all the time. Heists are fun. I'd like to see an 8chan crew come out of /svidya/. Let's talk about it.

>>6390 I got bored after a couple months.
I can't even be assed to put the game in again and try out the heists.
Tell me what they're like OP.
Anonymous 03/23/15 (Mon) 18:28:17 25edd7 No. 6397
>>6391 There are five heists. Each heist is broken down into a setup phase that involves two to six missions, and an execution phase with a culmination mission. Everyone gets paid for the setup phase except for the leader, who gets to determine the split of the final payout during the execution phase.
The first heists is a low-risk bank robbery, and the second heist is a more complex prison break. The third heist is a night raid on a chemical plant that requires significant teamwork, and the fourth heist is a drug transport operation. Finish all these, and you're treated to a dramatic, high-risk bank robbery.

>>6397 Sounds interesting enough. What's been your experience playing them?
I might just play them now to see what they're like.
Anonymous 03/23/15 (Mon) 21:55:55 25edd7 No. 6465
>>6456 You need three other people with microphones to prevent undue frustration. Even though you can restart if you fail, there's nothing more boring than doing heists with mute motherfuckers who don't follow directions. Get a talkative high-level crew together, and you'll have a ball calling the plays and getting it done.
My favorite heist is the night raid on the chemical plant. You spend five missions setting up the raid, and one of those missions involves storming an aircraft carrier and hijacking a squadron of jets. The grand finale starts with a daring airborne insertion into the chemical plant, and two people have to provide close air support in a UH-1 chopper while the other two set off an EMP and clear the pitch-black facility while wearing night vision goggles.
If you've ever played Splinter Cell, this heist will make you feel nostalgic, and the pay isn't bad, either. Each heist will get you around $100k, depending on how the leader splits the pot. Completing heists also unlocks special outfits and vehicles that are damn near indestructible and perfect for harassing other players in free mode.

I'll make a sticky for GTA:O for a /svidya/ crew. It will be PS4 only for a bit, PC will get a crew when I build my PC. My PSN ID: Ciphix GTA:O is the only game I play now and has been since release, I find it incredibly fun because I do a lot of military based rp with some people that gets real tactical and shit to the point where it feel less like GTA and more like ARMA.

I would assume it's time to sticky, seeing as the PC version is released and is apparently an manageable port.

i personally didnt like the game enough to justify buying it again after i have it on xbox 360
and adding first person mode and better graphics doesnt really make me want it either
i also dont like how grindy the online mode is for shit like weapons and armor the phone services i can understand having to grind for but the armor grind and weapon grind is bullshit i think

The proliferation of glitches during the first few months of GTA:O made grinding unnecessary. I made so much money during that initial period that I never have to worry about money again. I even bought the next-gen version when it came out last year, and my bank account is still fat.

Out of ALL guilds 8ch made, this one is the most ucking obvious.
Why would someone do that? Do we want the newfag audience?

Too late, even if I made a new guild it would be beyond fixing and I'd probably get called out for shilling it.

I usually spend most of my time riding around on closed solo sessions. I don't have many friends who have it on PC yet and the general community is cancerous. The game can be pretty comfy just riding around at night in first person.

You and I are brethren. This game has the Euro Truck quality of being able to just drive properly, enjoying the scenery. Except that there is a vibrant world behind the window you can actually enter.
It actually comes surprisingly close to taking a walk or drive through a city in reality. Almost a surrogate experience.
