/svidya/ is a strict /v/ alternative for moderated vidya discussion. This Board wasn't intended to replace /v/ but to aid Anon's in having vidya discussions with zero shitposters. Thanks for adding /svidya/ to /v/'s recommended boards, Mark.

Tourneyfags and nofunallowed metafags need not apply.

Does anybody else still follow this irredeemably unbalanced game? I've played it since 2006, and I still can't let it go. There are so many unique and interesting cards and fun decks despite how trashy it's become. I mostly collect only now but I still play just because I love testing my own decks and seeing them in action.

You can play with all of the cards and make decks with this program http://ygopro.de/en/

What decks do you guys have?

My favorites are;
-Spirits
-Earthbound Immortals
-Archfiends
-Batteryman
-Hazy Flames
-Nordic Penguins

I haven't played Yugioh TCG though, even when it was a craze on /v/. What's the appeal?

I'm wondering myself these days, haven't gone to my locals in months since it's full of the people using the most broken decks, the game is nearly pay2win at this point. I like collecting the cards IRL and building decks.

>I once played in a tourney and lost to a cheater in 4th place

I hear that.

To add, really I think the main appeal is that it's a game that lets your imagination run wild.

It could be cool maybe if there was enough interest to have an /svidya/ non meta devpro tournament. It would be really easy to organize with challonge and we could post devpro usernames ITT.

I used to play alot ages ago but kinda lost interest majorly around the time PTDN came around and Dark Armed Dragon killed everything.

It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for such disparity between the Japanese rarity of the cards and ours but trying to play the cards IRL is very much a pay to win game . My Gladiator beast deck is the only deck I have left at this point.

I've since Moved on to Cardfight Vanguard myself , I find it to be a better balanced game … I'd say Weiss Schwarz is the best but sadly no one plays it here.

Glads are a neat fucking deck.
They even got a kickass new fusion that can't be stopped in battle. High risk but high reward.

>[cards like] dad killing everything

>pay to win
>unbalanced

pretty much, it sucks but that's why you avoid metafags so the game can still be enjoyed

with bestiari back at 3 should be good times ahead , that new fusion does look neat.

I used to admin a fairly popular yugioh forum before I quit so I had to keep 1 eye on the meta for that.

I might try online playing my glads but never local again , my locals was the only one round for miles and there's 1 particular metafag that had a knack for getting under my skin (he seriously bought like 4 boxes chasing 1 card once) and always gloated on a win despite him putting like 20 times what everyone else did into the game.

You should download devpro, it has all the cards and it's free. It would be fun to have an /svidya/ ygo tournament.

I used to go to locals but stopped because at least half of the people there insist on playing the most broken new decks that nothing can compete with unless you run the same broken decks. It's at the point that you don't have freedom of choice in the game.

I'd be up for that but isn't Duelling network still a thing ?

DN can be temperamental being browser flash based. And DN generally gets cards faster and is fully automated, making ruling disputes much easier to avoid.

>Weiss Schwarz
I see that announced on the Han empire moving pictures streams all the time.

Isn't some sort of animu battle royale card game, I swear I saw oreimo cards being announced.

yeah kinda , if you have ever played cardfight vanguard you can see the similarities but CFV is a more dumbed down version imo

I personally use a Madoka Pre-con and it does me no wrong , if you get a chance to pick up a couple of pre-cons and play around with them I'd recommend it , it is a fun game.

Holy shit this deck is playable now. Not broken, but it's unique and fun as fuck with new support coming out.
