What censorship sparked this?

I stopped regularly using /tv/ when the new board owner showed up in November and banned baneposting as a response to all the spam. Now, I have nothing against the removal of dedicated spam attempts to disrupt a board, it's moderating for "quality" and steering the discussion that I don't like. /tv/'s owner has always seemed pretty relaxed to me.
