I've also mastered the techniques to roll extra thin joints. I love smoking a bunch of them instead of a few big ones.
Me and my friends all started smoking kinda together, so there was no one to roll for us, and since we used to smoke in group and on the streets, pipes/bongs weren't good. So we all learned how to how by necessity, we started smoking shitty Js until we've mastered it.
It's funny that since we had no one to taught us, each one of our group developed different methods, and we are all great rollers now.
So what I recommend to you, based on my experience and by the experience of people close to me is: learn by yourself, develop your own technique and practice alot, once you master it rolling will be as simple as loading a pipe or a bong. You will roll some shitty stuff that is hard to smoke, but it's all part of the process, papers are cheap anyway, don't be afraid to rerrol.
