There are certain thoughts, actions or beliefs that are considered so serious, they need to be confessed. Pedophilia is considered a mortal sin, so until you confess it, you aren't supposed to receive communion. Also, by dying in a state of mortal sin, you won't be resurrected on the day of judgement because your sin completely cut you off from God and you simply will be dead from the day your die on. Which I guess isn't that bad.

Besides, I know there are many schools of thought in Christian Church, even in Catholicism, but isn't the main message Jesus Christ left behind for us that by his sacrifice all human beings are redeemed and will be admitted to Heaven regardless of how they lived? Of course there's lots of Last Judgement stuff in the Bible, but the Bible is inherently contradictory, isn't it? And Jesus said the one and only maxim that's worth being strictly obeyed is 'love thy neighbour as thyself' – I don't see how anyone breaks that law by being attracted to a kind of people.
