Okay I don't use this laptop anymore but it kept me company until 2011. Played BF2 in 640x480 for years, and it could even run Crysis at 5 FPS. Shipped with 512MB of RAM but I upgraded that sucker to 2GB.

Now I just use it to play music while I work out.

Noctis IV is something I always love to play, there's no sound and the resolution is dismal but it's a blast once you get a handle on the controls. I use the bootdisk someone made to run it;

If you haven't played before, it's a nice little space exploration 'game' with a proc. gen. universe, made around 15 years ago IIRC. Can fly around, harvest fuel, walk around on the roof of your craft, reset the computers after you fly too close to some systems, get stranded, drop down to the surface and check out strange surfaces and oceans, check out seemingly perpetual storms on some planets, try to find your home planet, and take pictures, among many other make-your-own-fun style objectives.

Pic related is a screenshot on the surface of a planet with some nice plant life.

I named a couple planets in that game. Noctis V will be released someday, sadly none of the computers will survive the heat death of the universe.

I don't see Barkley Gaiden on that list. It will run on anything and is the best JRPG of all time.

The adventures of Sir Kicksalot actually looked pretty good even with all the settings turned down. FPS stayed around 20 for most of the game though, but it was playable.

I am pretty sure UT4 had a 320x240 resolution as well, but checking the current patch it seems 640xwhatever is the lowest.

Post some low spec vidya for other anons to try out. Try and give some insight on how playable the game is and if any workaround are required for optimization. Here's some random games to get started:

>Mount & Blade
Play on lowest directX setting, all other settings can be adjusted with little impact.

>Oblivion
Decrease draw distance a bit and turn grass/trees down to 20% or lower. Optimization mods optional.

>Morrowind
Obvious mention. Even if you can't run Oblivion, you can definitely play this, probably at highest settings. All other TES games before Morrowind should be simple to get running as well.

>Source Games
If you somehow can't run a Source game even on lowest settings, put "-dxlevel 80" in your launch options. I managed to play Dark Messiah of Might and Magic by doing this and only had minimal problems in the later stages of the game where a lot of stuff is happening at once.

Dawn of War runs really well for me even on max settings.

I tried the demo for DoW 2 but it crashed on startup, I forget why.
