R: 2 / I: 0 / P: 1 Low Spec Vidya
Post some low spec vidya for other anons to try out. Try and give some insight on how playable the game is and if any workaround are required for optimization. Here's some random games to get started:
>Mount & BladePlay on lowest directX setting, all other settings can be adjusted with little impact.
>OblivionDecrease draw distance a bit and turn grass/trees down to 20% or lower. Optimization mods optional.
>MorrowindObvious mention. Even if you can't run Oblivion, you can definitely play this, probably at highest settings. All other TES games before Morrowind should be simple to get running as well.
>Source GamesIf you somehow can't run a Source game even on lowest settings, put "-dxlevel 80" in your launch options. I managed to play Dark Messiah of Might and Magic by doing this and only had minimal problems in the later stages of the game where a lot of stuff is happening at once.
>Dragon Age: OriginsNear unplayable, but there's no mouse lag. Factor in that it's point and click combat and you can actually play through this game with relative ease if you have the patience. It actually runs extremely well in small/indoor levels. If anyone is well versed in modding, this game could probably be made more toaster compatible with some sort of optimization mod.
>Killing FloorExtremely optimized despite so much happening on screen at once. Looks nice even on the lower settings too.
