Here is my Christmas gift for 2b2t.

I recently found this amazing pasted of chat log of the server. But this one was special for a reason.

Background: 2013. Weeks after the Second Spawn Incursion. popbob was just killed on his alt "chris_leighton" at spawn by ExaltedSpartans. Popbob's nHack crashed and he was killed due this by a normal dia sword (not-enchanted).

Everyone knew he was mad at the time from his lack of talking after the episode, but we had no idea of how much until I found this. Read his conversation with the chat log owner through whisper.

I'm trying to find the oldest piece of evidence which shows 2b2t players. I'm trying to find when I joined but I can only go as back as May 2011 in the video related. I see my friend leaving the server in this video and I already knew I was playing by this time. Is there any evidence that goes further back?

I am late 1 month for the update I promised, but here it is.

- Consolidation Era -

I think everyone on 2b2t agrees (with a very few exceptions) that the community is closer and more mature, so I thought the name would fit this new period. I might make a blog post for James to detail and explain this Era if necessary.

The 4chan Period: I simply renamed it. First Days didn't sound very good… Sounds like something from LOTR. Plus 4chan was extremely important during these initial months and the main source of players and propraganda.

Facepunch Stalemate Period: I didn't ignore the critics I receive. Some of them were not totally wrong. I did made a mistake when I name that period as "Facepunch Era". That name may pass the idea that facepunch ruled the server at that time, which is not true. They were massacrated. So to represent their struggle in 2b2t, I changed the name to sound more accurate to what happened back then. Facepunch invasion was still the most and shaping event of that period. No matter what others might think.

The Great Server Decay: If played since 2011, you know what I am talking about here. THIS was the time that the server started to actually die due lack of advertising, lag and other factors. Facepunchers also slowly dissapeared during these months, increasing the reduction of the players rate to a point that , from the impressive 80 players online in 2012 we got to, in january 2013, 5-15 players online rate. Good thing the server didn't survive on donation at that time. Also the name was changed. It was Facepunch Decay Era in the last timeline, which is not true, since the decay was something general.

First Valkyrian Period: Just really a name change.

Legion-Gape Interlude: Another name change. It was originally named Post-Valkyrian Era. Its not a wrong name, but the Legion of Shenandoah and Gape I and Ii were the most noted events/bases of 2014, other than that, that year was a really weak period, having a small reduction of player rate.

Second Valkyrian Period: I think I mentioned here before that to make an accurate timeline you need to look the big picture. When I made the "Fenrir Interlude" I really jumped the gun. I wasn't expectings the events that happened after Fenrir, so I couldn't guess that later I would have to merge it and change the period. Fenrir however did marked the continuation of the legacy that started at Valkyria. The base was the union of veterans from Valk and base members from Nova and Gape. Then Asgard II added the legion on that recipe, creating the second most populated base of 2b2t. And later the most impressive and effective Spawn Incursion. So yes, this deserves to be called Second Valkyrian Period.

Present Undefined: I am not taking guesses here. I am waiting til december 2016 to update it again. I just put the player rate now.

I could swear 2b2t had this but my memory is fuzzy. I also remember building a town together with some 4channers around this time and it had five very distinct huge dildo-looking round monoliths nearby standing in a circle about 100 blocks across, anybody knows where this might have been?

I'm sorry, I really tried to love 2b2t.net,

I tried to force myself into the 2b2t experience, but ultimately

it was shit.

I guess it was my own fault for seeking a hardcore pvp or "anarchy" experience.

Allowing people to use hacks is a terrible, terrible start.

If you don't use hacks yourself, you're at a disadvantage.

And a very big one at that, because since ANYBODY can x-ray and noclip freecam at will,

you have literally no chance of having a base anywhere that is not

100k blocks or more from spawn.

And at that point, it literally doesn't get any better.

There is not a single gram of PVP.

I could not even witness in chat any instance of two armored people fighting,

the only kill notices were of veteran players

spawncamping any newcomers zealously.

This had a base on the mentality of the server itself,

since if at any time ANYBODY had a rough sketch of where your base was,

they'd xray into it, and blow it up with duped TNT

that they got out of sand generators and hacked books with Sharpness and

Looting 17000. Oh, right, and certain regulars had doublechests

FULL of duped supplies from previous exploits

that went unregulated due to no admin presence.

If you want any chance of surviving in this server, provided

you managed to escape the spawn that the players rabidly

try to make the most inhospitable possible, you essentially want

to play Singleplayer in a terribly laggy server with a fucked up community.

Oh, the community. Seriously, every single player there

had serious problems. A good bunch of them admitted

to watching CP in onionpedo, found some of the biggest attention

whores I've seen, some fucks in particular were spewing an amount

of racism and general obscenities (generally regarding Obama and Islam)

just so fucking thick and dense you literally couldn't tell whether they

actually had an opinion or not anymore.

Others were wasted out of their asses and wouldn't shut up about

how much they loved drugs and how they had relationship issues.

In the end, the only positive thing I can rescue from this server

was the "extremely fucked up spawn" aspect, and seeing years

of player erosion and construction on the same map. Even

then, there were next to no worthwhile ruins, due to the scattering

of players and near-infinite availability of TNT to veterans.

I know you all will jump on my post, give me boxes, and claim

that I am a frustrated spawnfag, but I still want to give my two cents

on this server, and why it is one of the experiences that in the end, you

wish you never had. No, I didn't have my base raided, I didn't

get aura-killed by someone with a book, in fact,

I played smart and remained unfound for over a week and half

AT 5K, 0, comfy in someone else's huge castle walls.

But I don't have anything to prove anymore, I'm just done with this.

But don't destroy our chat.

Greentext was part of our identity in the server, we need and we want it back. Without the death messages, greentext… we are not 2b2t anymore.

He keeps logging on and out to prevent this, you must logout completely when done with minecraft… in the launcher

just press the button logout… you'll have to type your password again and stuff on the next time

He is trying to steal sessions IDs and log on 2b2t using your account

The session ID is always the same if you never logged out.. Like you open the launcher and you don't have to type your pw

So logging on and out creates a new id and removes the previous session, meaning he cant steal it

2b2t records each player ID.. idk how can he get information like that… But I am just spreading the word.

Also, the window to use an Session is very limited… he has short time to access it until he gets disconnected, but he would still be able to screencap your coords

So the dangerous part is leaving the server with your launcher session ID on… Thats is when the stealing happens.

Again, this info is not confirmed., but better safe than sorry.

Its uses the command /tell to get them. He is using it on everyone that is online. If you log in, your coords are at risk of being caught.

Valkyria's Day

2 years ago, at 27th april, a made a propose to make a base for those who based together during 2b2t Test Map. The next day, Valkyria was founded.

Today, that base completes two years, sadly, not of physical existence, but of spiritual one. Many have tried to destroy it. And some even managed to do so.

But Valkyria can't be destroyed, because its not on the blocks.

Valkyria can't be stolen, because its not bound to a item.

It cant be killed, because its not hold by a single person.

Valkyria is nothing… And everything.

It is a feeling. Its an idea. An idea created, shared and spread by players.

Its the proof that even in anarchy, beautiful things can be created, communities can be born and grow, and the walls of fear that separates players from each can be climbed and even removed.

And even after all these two years, Valkyria was never really gone. It just changed names…

Belegost… Rhadamantis… Valhalla… Asgard… Gape… Nova… Shenandoah… Fenrir… Asgard II.

Today I celebrate this date, but I know I am not alone.
