Sadly it did

Since we didn't move to NEXT and 8chan seems to be staying for now

I saw no harm in making posts again

Others likely felt the same

I just wanted to quit image boards

It's a nice feeling to see /2hu/ get more lively.

It's all because Next got trashed.

>>37098

Too bad, you're here forever. Better get cozy.

>>37099

This is why timezones make no sense. There should be one time for the whole world.

 No.37124

As soon as we have a thread about celebrating /2hu/'s revival, the site starts going down. This is clearly an incident! Only a malevolent force would even dare to try to usurp this moment!

The site has faced far more activity in the past.

Because they were letting that lolcow implement "features" on the site even before infinity never.

I read his code and it was disgusting. I can't say the current codebase is much better though. It would be nice if it could just be done well for once.

The new code? Or his vichan additions?

Been a dev myself for 12 years and have worked with many codebases that were an utter mess. I'm very familiar with code that is difficult to maintain and new features almost impossible to implement sometimes.

However, the code often worked well and my employers have made millions of dollars with that code. It's a fact I tried to drill into the heads of many junior devs we hired who thought they needed to save the world.

It's easy to lose site of this fact when so many new options and technologies are available. Ultimately nobody cares how pretty the code is other than the devs though, they only care if it works.

I just want a chan that isn't run by massive faggots/lolcows/irc fags/sjws or otherwise mentally deficient people who are also shit at systems administration. Some semi experienced developers who understand social norms to a certain degree and whose ego doesn't massively exceed their ability would be nice also. But this is already asking too much it seems.

Both codebases in general. I can say from experience that it's really depressing to work with code designed to be as difficult to maintain as possible for the sake of job security. If the code worked well, then maybe it wasn't so bad to begin with. The way I see it is: (good code = good software) and (bad code = bad software). I've seen what bad software is like. I'm actually just about to quit my current company because of it. Also, technical debt matters. Features that should take seconds to implement taking weeks impedes the company. The inability of programmers to maintain a program matters for its users. And don't get me started on the pinhead managers that blow a gasket whenever they catch someone outside of India programming. Nothing makes me seethe like Indian code.
