Ever heard of Damnatus?

It was a 40k fan movie made by some German fans. GW forced them to shut it down after it became clear that releasing it under German copyright law would turn 40k into an open license.

Not sure what the laws are here though but that still seems kinda fucked up.

I hope NISA wouldn't do anything as terrible as pic related, but what is the worst that could happen? I've heard some say that NISA has given some characters fan-service-y lines where there originally weren't any. Kinda the problem with Treehouse but in the opposite direction.
