Decade-ly Japanese learning thread. Let's dump useful stuff, info, websites or whatever interesting we stumble upon here.
Don't forget to do your reps.
Does redtext work on moonrunes?
WHY JAPANESE PEOPLE?!
Epic memes bros.
I always wondering how the wires that grabbed her hands were supposed to work. Also would a person's skin really just stick to a giant hotplate?
They're magic wires. And yes, it should.
車 This is easy to remember because it looks like the car's axle.

Should've read this before, i think now i understand better about what i asked before.
Nice. This is exactly why I wanted this thread.
In a few cases new verbs are created by appending -ru (〜る) to a noun or using it to replace the end of a word. This is most often done with borrowed words, and results in a word written in a mixture of katakana (stem) and hiragana (inflectional ending), which is otherwise very rare. This is typically casual, with the most well-established example being sabo-ru (サボる, cut class; play hooky) (circa 1920), from sabotāju (サボタージュ, sabotage), with other common examples including memo-ru (メモる, write a memo), from memo (メモ, memo), and taku-ru (タクる, take a taxi) from takushii (タクシー, taxi). In cases where the borrowed word already ends with a ru (ル), this may be punned to a ru (る), as in gugu-ru (ググる, to google), from Google (グーグル), and dabu-ru (ダブる, to double), from daburu (ダブル, double).
現 (present time) + 実 (truth) = 現実 (reality)
Made me think of Lain
Hah, due to 8ch servers being shit I didn't see your picture until after I saw (present time) and thought of Lain myself.
This one is easy to remember, whenever you see it think of "You filthy gaijin!"

It's so much easier to learn a kanji when you already know the word for it.
My daily routine has turned into watching anime, study japanese, play japanese games.
Does the neet life ever go away ;_;
My daily routine is: Wake up feeling like shit, go to uni feeling tired and like shit, try to pay attention while feeling like shit, get on a tightly packed bus and get bumped around feeling like shit, get back home feeling too tired to properly enjoy vidya/anime and unable to motivate myself for some reps, derp around on the internet till it's time to sleep, rinse repeat. And then once I find a job I'll have to work too.
I wish I could be NEET instead.
How is doing nothing but pursuing your hobbies all day awful?
Man, I could read Yotsuba a million times and never get bored of it, it's so funny.
上手 right pointing kanji pointing at hand. Left handed is always bad so this means good.
You guys are too far ahead of me. But if you fags can do it, I can do it too!
= parent + child = meat and eggs
着 you wear clothes made with wool.
Get it? because it has 羊 on top.
畑 Think of the 火 on it as the fire which keeps things alive so a field that is alive is a cultivated field.
湖 the big old(古) moon(月）reflecting on the lake!
It looks like a guy at a field
茶色 Chairo. This reminds me of chaika and 茶 kind of looks like chaika's coffin... don't know!
It means light brown by the way.
お手洗い = おてあらい = Toilet
this somehow sounds like the english meaning so it's easy, like, Oh! toilet!
I guess it could be a guy cultivating a field too.
I really like this picture.
It has a certain scientific railgun.
Finally, I could say it.
Guy tending field, makes sense.
Also, sorta, kinda looks like an eye with an eyebrow, might be just the tiny chan font.
Ｒｉｃｅ ｆｉｅｌｄ ａｂｏｖｅ ｈｅａｒｔ， ｌｉｔｅｒａｌｌｙ ”ｙｏｕｒ ｈｅａｒｔ ａｎｄ ｓｏｕｌ ａｒｅ ｏｕｔ ｉｎ ｔｈｅ ｒｉｃｅ ｆｉｅｌｄ”
Ｔｈａｔ’ｓ ｐｒｅｔｔｙ ｆｕｎｎｙ ａｎｄ ｇｏｅｓ ｗｅｌｌ ａｌｏｎｇ ｗｉｔｈ ｍｙ ｍｅｎｔａｌ ｉｍａｇｅ．
欠 is like 次 but LACKS the dots next to it
妻 woman carrying the drinks = Wife
One month ago i played Shin megami tensei If and I couldnt understand shit but now I can actually read and understand a lot of it, feels so good.
"Please help me!
to save the school and everyone..."
"Amelia, come with me"
Or something like that...
It looks like a nose with a few hairs coming out from the nostrils
Why would 男 be backwards on the entrance to the men's area?
Possibly so you could hang up the cloth any which way.
Jesus christ, how? I can't keep up with this.
I think I studied too much
I don't have them saved but there are stock photo reaction images featuring a delivery man and I'm pretty sure this is the same guy.
Darker kanjidamage theme.
Bigger and lighter furigana.
協 - Cooperate.
Default size seems to be 8pt, I was hoping this would fix a windows bug with font rendering on the furigana but it only helps a little. Fucking windows.
>fixing windows font rendering
Good luck with that, you'd need a kernel patch.
Yeah, no shit. But I'm not gonna install gentoo just to use anki properly.

I find 曇 easy to remember because of how memorily squished it is. It also reminds me of the structure of the most dramatic types of cloud.
Don't bully nimboculumus-chan.
I think using the website is nicer
Can't use website when the world ends and WW3 begins. Still gotta do reps though.
Pretty interesting, It also gives you reading and word usage when you click on each kanji.
What site do you use to look up random kanji's stroke order?
I use pictures because some of the stock photos have hidden potential.
How much new vocab do you do per day
I generally don't because they all follow the same rules so you can't go wrong about it, but when not sure just google it.
25 words a day
I have a separate settings group for it and change it between 10 and 20 depending on how many kanji reviews I have due.
I found what I was thinking of when looking for something else.
That'll be 17.99. Plus 先
The way KD tries to teach 頭 before 首 seems counterintuitive.
Oh boy, are we back? I forgot what the fuck I wanted to post yesterday anyway.
>The beta site will be the "real" site when it has received required updates. No information posted there will be lost.
What are you still doing here?
I've noticed some kanji mutate like so
when 配 is はい.
Or 一杯（いっぱい）杯 being はい too
It kind of makes sense since はー＞ぱ
but didn't notice until I thought about it.

Okay, let's play a little gemu.
Just for fun.
Found this image ages ago in a random thread, some anon said he'd tl it but never did. So, why don't we try to translate it?
"Senpai, you're not done yet?
even though mine is in standby."
"Hurry up or i'll spread rumours during club activies
'senpai is the type of person that gets nervous and can't do it.' "
That was fucking hard and probably wrong ;_;
1. Kirara-san, what is this?
2. "Well, Towa-chi, you can't just wear no bra!!" "What's a bra?"
- bura toha? Not sure about this.
3. Later when I'm not derped in the head.
とis a quote particle too in this case plus normal topic marker は.

３．Only 1.5 more meters, Yahagi! Yahagiii! Over there! The watermelon is over there! Biyuu! Yahagi-chan you can do it!
Yahagi! - Umm!!!!!! Is it in front?!!! Is it behind?!!! Right?!!! Left?!!! Will you not tell me the directions?
Yeah, I can see how this stuff does not flawlessly translate into English sometimes.
*disregard the Biyu, it's actually "Pyuu!" and some sorta retard talk exclamation.
Shouldn't have pressed it, look what i've done to her!
Holyshit I just got the joke.
Oh, that's how I remember it too.
望 My desire is dying as the king of the moon
注 Slave POURED tea over her master's crotch so she gotta give it kisses. chuu~
"From today until tomorrow Yuriko will have raw ＳＥＸwith these old men."
Or could say "all night" or "From night to morning" I don't know.
Look at Gelbooru if you wanna see the actual translation, assuming of course it's not bullshit.
