http://www.seriouseats.com/2013/03/how-to-poach-eggs-easy-way-poached-breakfast-video.html

My first attempt at poaching an egg, based on the above video.

Lost half of the egg white, it became part of the 'egg soup'. I didn't stir or add vinegar. Big mistake. The egg just unraveled when it entered the water. The yolk got separated from the white, but thankfully stayed intact. I took them out when I started to smell sulfur. Maybe the water was too hot.

Preparation-wise, it was a disaster, but the final product wasn't bad. The egg white was overcooked, but the yolk was still runny. Ate it with toast and soy sauce. Tasted better than my usual fried egg sandwich. And best of all no butter or oil was used. Gonna get me some cottage cheese, chive and other ingredients. Will be practicing every day from now on.

Pro tip I never cook anything in oil, usually a small amount of water to get it going, unless it's to be deep fried or something, saves money and caloric intake to an extreme desire
