I sort of know what you mean, I like the most this time of year the sincere and heartfelt films that get shown on TV, usually made before the sixties
yesterday it was "the bishops wife" with Cary grant and David Niven, great movie. Back when you could make a really beautiful movie about human kindness and hope and charity without a trace of irony or cynicism. A genuinely family friendly movie. Everyone in the picture is christian and has a belief in something other than the material, everyone is White European. There are no shoehorned minorities, there is no apology for ethnicity or history, no attempt to include the "other". Sad to think these films could never be made in this day and age.
