Welcome to /8beers/, a board about nothing! Pretty much the long short of this board is to provide a safe haven for anons who like to post free of spam or other forms of shitposting.

Post about interesting things, I'll sticky whatever is good. We will have a beer / alcohol general all the time, along with a tobacco / other drugs thread.

RULES

>1: No spam / obvious shitposting

In the form of a thread that is.

>2: No porn or gore threads.

Keep whatever you do post mild.

>3: Put effort into your thread.

Think before you post, what is interesting to you? What do you think might be interesting to others? If it apparently has no effort I will remove it.

These are subject to change, post below if you have questions or want to discuss a rule. Happy posting!

>Cherries Jubilee Pipe Tobacco

>Wood Tipped Wine Black & Mild

>Camel Blues

Just some of what I've been smoking recently. I need to get a new pipe though, I've got a tall corncob and a short shitty one like pic related. I had a good one that I got for 10 bucks on amazon but it wasn't that great. Only lasted a few months before the stem broke.

I know that feel all too well. There's some rare exceptions like charcoal-filtered soju/certain vodka-sake mixtures, but otherwise it's all either strong alcoholy-burn (vodka, gin, rum, etc.) or throat-warmers (whiskey, spiced rum, brandy, etc.).

I know fuck all about alcohol, and I'm gonna need to, to get a job in a bottle shop. How to start?

I like fortified red wine (port/sherry), brandy, and whisky on the rocks

 No.128

>>127

Work in a bottle shop? Like a place where they bottle alcohol? You could probably get hired at a brewery, what I would suggest is finding some local brewery's and asking them if they need any help. Or you could check Craigslist and see if any places like that are hiring. I figure you want to work for a supplier and not a distributor so try it and see what you can find. If you live in Kentucky its not hard to find.

>>128

Nah, sorry I mean a takeaway liquor store (distribution). Am Aussie, so yeah.

Will check Craigslist in general though.

I've got one of those massive plastic paint containers and stuck a whole with an airlock through the lid. Haven't set up in a while, but the only recipe I got right now is for a sugar wash and a cider.

the sugar wash is

>15 pounds of sugar

>yeast (need to find my notes)

>water

Boil the shit out of the water. Throw the sugar in and melt it till you got sugar water. Toss some yeast in, throw it in the bucket and wait a few months.

After that you can run it through a little pur water filer, any of that cheap shit doesn't work and does not make the alcohol taste good.

After you've run it through the water filter.

TA DA

You've got basically a light vodka (15%), you can use it as a mixer, throw some jolly ranchers in a glass bottle with it and store it away in your freezer.

It was good cheap shit that kept my wallet happy and me not sober.

>anything more cozy then being inside during a thunderstorm

No there is not. I love being inside on rainy days. Being in southern US I don't get as much rain as I'd like and never any snow. But man, it feels comfy as fuck when it's just pouring down and you can hear the rain hitting the window and roof.

It's especially great if you large windows and the sky is all grey, I don't like blue sky clear days, I love overcast, where everything just feels shielded from the sun and nice and cozy.

Great thread.

Raisins, man. I fermented raisins(accidentally left a bag of them sealed for months in my pantry) and they tasted kinda like wine. How could I turn them into alcohol?

11 posts and 2 image replies omitted. Click reply to view.

 No.39

that's because raisins ARE GRAPES. Grapes naturally create yeast while fermenting.

 No.40

>>39

What are you trying to say?

 No.41

>>40

Because it seems like you are pushing this raisin concept but it has no point. Raisins are just simply grapes that have been completely dried out and packed with sodium. They aren't good for fermentation. Just use raisins in their normal form (grapes).

No they don't you stupid nigger. Grapes naturally have wild yeasts growing on them because reasons. They don't "create" yeast.
