/co/mrade here, there was actually more to that thread and a few other similar threads like it that had found more information - notably that several writers and contributors for ComicsAlliance were friends with several writers and artists from big comic publishers (mostly Marvel) which suspiciously seems to tie into several people who have contributed or promoted by ComicsAlliance getting jobs at Marvel and the comics they've worked on getting favorable reviews.
Unfortunately those threads have long been deleted, though most of what was found was archived. It my take a while, but I'm sure that info could be dug back up. Though /co/ found the info to not be very useful in the long term since it can only outline connections.
The team that works on the comic "Unbeatable Squirrel Girl" with Ryan North, Erica Henderson, and Wil Moss might be a good place to start if anyone wants to check again.

I'd strongly recommend taking a look into Boom Studios. They tried astroturfing a "diversity" initiative through the hashtag #comicsforward. Their portfolio offers a mix of licensed and original content with socjus themes running through a few titles (see "Lumberjanes"). Recent hires include former webcomic artist Tyson Hesse.

Basically they're using return-ability to consume as much rack space for their socjus garbage as possible.
The vibe I get from his articles confirms what I'm seeing where I live.
1) Boom!'s crap is eating up rack space.
2) Most comics/gaming stores are paring down their racks for more gaming stuff because it's more money for less work. One gaming/comics place I go by has pared down their comics rack to a token offering. Stores that have the option to get rid of their racks for comics, are taking it and going sub-box only instead of putting up with the current market.
