I'm going to post this in conjunction with OP's first image. Most of you probably know this, but this is for anyone else here. I am posting this because I am afraid as time goes on, more of this gets lost to antiquity.

A lot of people don't understand the relationship between 4chan and SA.

SA started as the 'asshole' of the internet before 4chan existed. Raids happened and were fairly frequent. Gore and porn were there for shock value. At this time of the internet, there was nothing else like it.

Enter SA user "moot" - moot started 4chan as a place for SA users to upload images and talk about them. Early /b/ had SA "Photoshop Fridays" and other original SA memes were more or less brought over with them.

SA raids were something in general, to be feared.

This changed around 2001 when the owner of SA Lowtax got himself a dose of bitchy ex girlfriend who altered his webpage and made him the target of lulz. He didn't find it funny, and sperged out a bit on the board.

(Keep in mind, SA at this point even for its cost people would shell out to keep the website running, was huge. While people gave the $10 a month shit a lot of hatred, back when SA started during web 1.0 was extremely expensive. Tiny websites with a domain ran about $250 a month back in 1999, so most people used geocities, etc.)

Anyway.

Lowtax stepped down more around 2008.

2011 was when moot deleted /new/ and /r9k/.

Bitingbeaver posted their article on SA around 2007.

2008 was when moot came out with his real name.

Somewhere in 2011, some drama on the SA boards led some women to get control of the dominant equivalent of /b/ boards on SA. (such as FYAD.) Also in 2011 some major boards were deleted along with some serious internal drama.)

2011 is when OWS started in September. (AS we know, OWS has a colorful history with feminists, shills, and AdBusters.)

2011 was when ED was taken down by Girlvinyl.
