You know what really does the trick for me? Bacon-wrapped dates. If you get the bacon just right, its salty, slightly bitter cruspy taste envelops the sweetness of the dates and gives every single one of your taste buds a seperate orgasm. Pure heaven.
It's even easy to make, if a bit time-consuming if you want to make larger number of them for friends and family. We regularly have them during Christmas and the things practically dematerialize from the plate the second they leave the kitchen.
