My great uncle killed his fair share of them. He received the bronze star with 3 oak leaf clusters (i.e. received the bronze star on 4 separate occasions), and came home with a bunch of Nazi medals and insignia, including an Iron Cross and an SS armband with blood on it. Also several large Nazi flags, some with bullet holes through them.
