No.2155
Today I woke up and realized that is been years since I've taken time to add words to my vocabulary.
I searched for new words, and mostly found words I already knees, but rarely used. I haven't, however, memorized the entire dictionary.
So let's have a vocabulary thread.
Share new words and words you rarely use.

>idempotent
>adj. unchanged in value following multiplication by itself
“this matrix is idempotent”
In mathematics, a number that is idempotent keeps the same value when multiplied by itself, no matter how many times the function is applied.
For example, one times one always equals one no matter how many times you multiply it.
This can be used outside of mathematics as well.
If you press the “pause” button on a video player many times with no new results, the button is idempotent.
The word idempotent comes from the Latin words idem, which means "the same," and potent, from potentem, which means "power."
