How do you old people deal with the ongoing drudgery of waking > working > eating > sleeping?

I'm only 30 and its too dull. How do it when 40? 50?

26 here and feeling the same way. I've found in the past that moving to new places helps. For me, a lot of political things wear me down more than anything. In terms of just living, I write quite a bit, so that keeps my imagination fresh - it's like escaping the confines of your life through words.

When I want to escape physically, I go out to parks, or go camping or on an adventure. Exploring things is a guaranteed way to make you feel like life isn't one big jail sentence.

I have been thinking it would be nice for some of us Mr(s). Anons to get together and camp out, have some fun… But yeah, not going to happen I don't think.

Getting a hobby might work, yeah.
Personally, I just go for a walk, find a quiet place and read.

Alas, too many adults adjust to dullness by becoming dull themselves.

They're truly depressing to see; be sure it doesn't happen to you.

Just hit 40. The dullness set in around 5 minutes after I graduated and sat in an office.

Fuck that.

I changed jobs. That helps. I also try and keep sharp by learning lots of things, studying and having hobbies. Though it wears me out and I can't deal with people too well (introverted).

Oh, and avoiding /pol/ helps. Too many news panics get me down.

I'm doing this and I turn 25 this year, honestly I've been thinking of getting out there and doing something worth while, like teaching English or working out in the boonies like a camping lodge or somewhere where I can be confined with nature and the open world.

But kudos to you Mr(s). Mr(s). Anon

After a while a person can get used to anything.

 No.4483

People (and some old people now, but not as much) used to work so monotonously and hard because the materialistic pleasure cloud we ride on today didn't really exist back then.

People's minds and their reward system was based more on a "meta-level" in regards to the physical plane, they received gratification from their work but not necessarily pleasure; that's why people used to be more spiritual naturally in all cultures of the world.

People like dirty hippies strive for this same thing in modern day, but few achieve it, or if they do experience it they don't delve in nearly as much as people used to. The only people now who still experience such a life are third world subsistence farmers, but even they have access to pain-relieving things such as modern oral hygiene.

tl;dr hard work and thus dulled senses creates an altered state of consciousness.
