AnyMr(s). Anons here have a knowledge of any given STEM field beyond that of the "OMG science is so cool" level?
If you do major in STEM what is it?
Mine is in physics , and i'm planning long-term to get a PhD in something like materials or optics.
They usually lead to good industry jobs and maybe I can get a research position at a national lab one day years from now.

What about you?

Good to hear you've got a gameplan going,Mr(s). Anon.

Mathematician here. Always been interested in topology and quantum physics subject wise, though, I admit hat relative to physicists, I probably know jack about the technicalities of quantum.
>mfw I tried to explain topology to my daughter with playdough though

always wanted to study biology, but I'm not a biologist. I want to go to a university to get an idea of it, but I'm still saving up for that.

Anybody know what job prospects are like for people with degrees in bio?

OP here , both my parents have their PhDs in biology. If i wasn't good enough at math for physics i'd either being doing that or engineering.
The good job prospects for bio are in microbio , biochem. or if you can hack it becoming a doctor. So if you want a non-acediamic job , since there is little mobility for faculty positions, if you do get a PhD and your research was in microbio , you might be developing for vaccines. its what my mother did when she worked at baxter and other biofirms for many years.

Dropoutgent here. Had flunked grades all throughout high school because brains can have imperfections chemically; but now I've proper rehabilitation and a desire to excel in experimental physics.

Wish me luck.

Good luck,Mr(s). Anon. Also, quick note: I edited your post to add a space after "dropoutgent" because the word filter removed it.

Also, fixed the word filter for "gent".

Studying environmental science, know plant biology and some taxonomy, animal biology too but on a more basic level, study paleontology as a hobby. I'm very interested in ecosystems and evolution, planning on learning about and protecting the natural world.
