Do you think they are very important?

Absolutely.
Not only have they had a great impact on human culture, communication and been a good source for food. They have also been important for keeping pests in line and spreading seeds.

I'm not sure what you mean here, or what the intent of the question is? If you mean to ask what would happen to our ecosystem is all birds suddenly vanished, well, I imagine it would be disastrous, but I'm not a biologist.

This could be asked about any animal species. Do you think humans are very important?

When I went to San Francisco, the birds on the boardwalk were so fat and complacent that I accidentally stepped on one and maimed it. Have you ever stepped on a bird before? It's terrible for both parties.

>pigeons
Pigeons in my city have gotten so used to people that they walk beside us. I like to feed them sometimes at the park, but I prefer sparrows. They're nicer, and since they're smaller, I feel worse for them when winter comes around.

>Have you ever stepped on a bird before?
Actually, yes. I once found a baby swallow who had fallen from its nest. It was impossible to know which nest it had fallen from (there were tons of swallows living in the house's roof) and if I were to place it in the wrong nest (which was pretty much impossible anyway since there wasn't a tall enough ladder to reach the roof) then it'd surely be rejected/killed anyway if it was placed in the wrong nest + it'd probably have gotten my scent on it, so…

I still wanted to help it so I caught a few bugs and tried to feed it and get it to drink some water, but it refused it all. If I'd leave it then it'd just die a slow painful death, so I decided to take its life.
Placed it gently in a cloth and stomped on it.

Indeed.

when birds "fall" out of their nest, most of the time they are at the stage where they are learning to fly, so it may take them a few hours to get a hang of it….and their mother will still look after them while they are on the ground.

you did a pretty mean thing

Also birds don't usually reject a child. The scent thing is a lie as well.

I don't want to believe dinosaurs are just big birds. Science has gone too far. Don't take away my jurassic park scaly dinos.
