In reply to thread 96 on templeos: -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 >>110 >I don't feel like spending weeks learning VirtualBox. Can't we just petition the owners to add PC Speaker? We could try, but in the VirtualBox bug tracker ticket I linked they wrote: >I'm afraid that there currently are not as far as I know. We would happily accept a code contribution if it could be integrated without too much work on our side, '''but otherwise fixing this is just too low priority relative to the other things we have to do and our available engineering time'''. So it seems like they are open to the idea of adding PC speaker support (unlike VMware), but just don't care enough to do it themselves, so I don't think a petition would work. Code would probably work though, and learning VirtualBox could be beneficial for TempleOS in other ways since you run it in a VM you would know more about how the underlying VM works instead of just trusting VMware. Also, even if the VirtualBox team refused to accept your patch for whatever reason, since VirtualBox is open source you could compile it yourself or even create a fork called "TempleVM" specifically for TempleOS. These are just ideas from me though, if they don't interest you that's fine. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJU4AtOAAoJEBDdyYOQGqGD5F8QALnFrwHnMAhQaBOwf2mqUbAU ycQtTlojY4mN5BrtPjxxhO/J5vWdRmxedrd/aIn+LS7L4f0MNbNnwUS6OcEpySGE fB6izxF3Iz/a4d1DQ3SS7j7SJYefVwHwcVzV0/tIifQJOSZhB9+ix01Pi0FlMCRz 4s4jiXlD1lHc/JHs8skhMBVFZUzVlF+aADRWn3m+RPOxFC0F53jsUzFgrbcy34AJ L10nZn58Ms3RP5XsIm6mYOLPez/QMBk9zKl1gCpvCG/1XolL1fbI4Di85AwsjjtU Ij8sry5lCgY6vy9+AzB/H+UjMQJD9b+Giq3Jc8CD4rWiIuylQvphD3AMSRXgGq6h oIUFTopiXzTnyrsMNLDbv9Idev4CGTcVDiuj7k4q1WbxipQNjw5NQq4BOuBkiH63 Euh8No47ktrzx0o3T1kj0q0af4mdkxmlT+CLCF0s6Hro+drURfvXhePpWTyafzKT 6kapcp/1VN4kfC5e4PW3rHlnQtH8E6kmyeGtIQgeVkW8PMEzfrMtqg2ZX9s0Lmx9 HceDVQtEZYoYsFxcavGF8YgB7AQey25rRU2pGUM0WDh4opiKCd2MKiOrIb23wFnk HXrW5sLPmFiEkuvbKnC77OzblSvKE99ACY0ocuAM0l2XjZ0GWSaaFKhwGboh/jnE gAs5nNW9skVAeSF07TRe =CnKH -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
