We are happy to announce the immediate availability of beta.8ch.net.

All user accounts and boards have been migrated over to beta.8ch.net. Board
owners should log in and configure their boards accordingly. Your login is the
same on beta.8ch.net as it is on 8ch.

We have began an early beta for Infinity Next. There are still major problems
to be identified and it contains only user and board data. Posts made here are
liable to be deleted at any time. When the software is more stable, we will
import all 8ch.net information over and begin a second, final beta phase.

Yet, given the instability of 8ch.net in the past weeks, beta.8ch.net could be
a breath of fresh air for your community if you are facing the worst of the
server instability issues. At the end of the day it is up to each community
whether to stick with the current site with all its features but brokenness,
but go for the quick posting of beta.8ch.net but miss out on some permanence
and features.

I personally recommend going for the beta, especially if your board is not one
of the large ones which has its own disk array. (Every board excluding /b/,
/pol/, /hga/, /meta/, /v/, /wx/, /animus/, /furry/, /tech/, /sp/)

The migration to the new software is not up for debate. It is a certainty.
What is up for discussion is how it will look, how it will work and what
features it will have; thus this beta testing period.

things to re-implement.
