Until we get more episodes, the Hibike! comparison is a trap. What defined Hibike! was the pervasive stressful edge behind its moe. I realized I hate every element about this show.
The puzzles are shit and don't have enough time devoted to them. The characters are great, but they are all, to the man, thrown to the wayside so we can focus on Haruta, who is shit. The music club element to the show is used solely and strictly as a backdrop to everything else.
Every one of those components can make for a decently enjoyable show on their own, but when attention is split between all three and hyperfocused especially on Haruta's interaction with them, it becomes complete trash.
