I think the most comforting anime I've ever watched was Nichijou. I'll still go back to it when I'm having a bad day and want to cheer up, just pick a random episode. There's no stress, no drama that isn't resolved 30 seconds later, the music is nice, the colors are all pastel, the characters are all cute, and it makes me laugh. Even the jokes that could be annoying if done by other shows just... aren't. Even the jokes I don't understand because they're neck-deep in obscure japanese culture, I enjoy anyway because of the characters partaking in it. There are no bad feelings allowed. /hypno/ has potential but there's barely any discussion, just filesharing and DMCA takedowns. There are some threads on learning hypnosis along with .pdf books on the subject if that helps at all.
If I ever have the time I'd love to make a hypnosis-themed VN with real inductions instead of instantaneous magic devices, maybe even sections designed to put the player into a trance for relaxation, self-help or lewdness. Only problem is that some people have trouble keeping their eyes open or looking at a screen hurts their eyes while hypnotized, so voice acting might be necessary and that's one community I want to touch as little as possible.
