Conventional weapons do not work against Aragami. The scientists develop something from there experiments with Aragami they later call "Bias Factor". They create machine guns from the bias factor that the Aragami soon adapt to. So the scientists decide to create human aragami chimeras. The scientists also make living weapons made out of aragami DNA called god arcs. People who wield the god arcs have to be implanted with aragami dna (chimeras). And the more the user syncs with the god arc the more the aragami dna takes over. So lenka's aragami dna is killing him because he syncs super well with his weapon.
So they created an ever evolving weapon from their ever evolving enemy because nothing else works.
