Daily reminder you fags should be speaking and writing it. Especially speaking. Writing is easy for every language, but speech, is the hardest.

 No.436202

>>436198

But what if I'll never need speech? I can't foresee any reason why I would.

 No.436207

>>436202

I think you should. From my experiences learning other languages, speaking it with someone allows it to stick more. Also, if you can speak at a basic level, like a 5th grade level, that means you learned a very large amount of the language.

But I am not shilling. You do not have to.

I need some help with を, people. When is it okay not to say it?

In the CCS thread I was saying "You don't understand CCS.". So, do I have to say CCSをわからない or can I leave the を out?

If I want to say "You are shit." Can I say

おまえがshitです or do I have to say おまげがshitをです?

 No.436217

>>436210

You can leave it out pretty much completely depending on how casual and broken you want your sentence to be. You could leave it out in that sentence, but that sentence alone isn't enough to tell someone they don't understand CCS, it sounds like you don't understand it instead.

The former is correct, but が would make more sense if you were arguing who was shit, は makes more sense if you're just telling someone they're shit. In the latter, the を makes no sense there, especially with です attached. Without です it sounds like you're telling someone they do 'something' with shit, but not completing the sentence to specify what.

 No.436235

File: 1457326683583.jpg (172.53 KB, 960x720, 4:3, [Coalgirls]_Cardcaptor_Sak….jpg)

>>436217

Yes, I left the "you" part out of the CCS sentence to shorten the post.

About the が, an argument was what I had in mind. I was thinking about writing "YOU are shit" to make that clear, but I didn't.

Well, that was helpful. I think have a better understanding of を. It is not used with linking verbs (like です). So, if I can replace the verb with "=", and the sentence is still what I am trying to say (e.g., You = shit), then I should not use を.

"You != CCS" is not what I was trying to say, so I should use を after CCS.

Good enough or what?

 No.436243

>>436198

but don't do it please if you only have non-native speakers who don't speak well as your speaking partners, you'll make lots of bad habits that will be hard to break

for writing: lang-8.

>Writing is easy for every language

wtf. though i guess it depends on how proficient you want to be at writing. I've been trying to write essays and I have mistakes all the fuck over. also: lang-8.com use that shit

lastly, don't even try speaking and writing if you don't listen to enough nipponese and don't read enough moonrunes. forms bad habits. don't do it.

>>436210

you don't understand ccs = お前はCCSがわからない

the focus is on *not understanding CCS.*

お前がCCSをわからない = it is you that do not understand CCS

focus is on *you* being the one not understanding

 No.436256

>>436243

Oh boy, now が is in the mix.

So, quick reading says that が is used with "states" (with verbs that aren't linking), and the way I understand that is: if it is like a trait you could check off on a list. then it is a state.

For example, understanding CCS is a trait/state. Understands CCS? Yes/No.

Could that be why you are using が, or is it just simply, like you are saying, that CCS is the focus (subject) of the first sentence, while "you" is the focus (subject) of the second sentence.

I really shouldn't be asking, but instead reading to see how it is.

In any case, isn't it perfectly fine to use を instead of が in the first sentence?

>「がわかる」と「をわかる」の違いは主語(subjects)か目的語(objects)かの違いでよいと思います。

>「(主語)が分かる」

>「(目的語)を分かる」

so: 「"subject"がわかる」

「"object"をわかる」

>そもそも日本語では「結果を分かる」とは言えません。

>×「〜を分かる」

>◯「〜が分かる」

>◯「〜を分かっている」

>◯「〜を分かってあげる」

>◯「〜を分かってくれる」

>補助動詞があると「〜を」で目的語をとっても許容されるみたいです。

>「分かる」単体だけだと無理だと思います。

Plus, apparently, you don't say 「をわかる」 since it's wrong.
