I think the closing theme of the second season is better. On the other hand, the second season is a lot worse than the first.

Because they know how to balance cuteness with a dose of sadness, and the story ended with a good catharsis. Not to mention that the characters are likable, and it's not that hard to relate to them, so that aforementioned sadness hits a lot harder.

There are three pairs in the story:

>Utah and Nibutani

They both want to get away from their past. The subtle difference is that Yuta wants to run from it, while Nibutani has to hide it. And of course one of them is a male and the other one is a female.

>Rikka and Sanae

The two chuunis, childish cuteness from girls, we all know it after watching the show.

>Isshiki and Kumin

Outsiders, but Kumin observes them with a glee, and sometimes even takes part in their harmless delusions. Isshiki keeps a distance, as he is only connected to Yuta. He also tries to "take away" Yuta, or at least get him into his own world.

There are also three tiers of importance

>tier 1: Utah and Rikka

>tier 2: Nibutani and Sanae

>tier 3: Isshiki and Kumin

Notice how tier 1 has a love story, tier 2 has a strange friendship and tier 3 has a failed love story.

Both tier 1 and tier 2 is about the interactions of a chuuni and an ex-chuuni, while tier 3 has the two outsiders.

Tier 1 is the gist of the story, tier 2 is support for that, and tier 3 is basically comic relief (especially poor Isshiki).

If you plan on watching the second season, go in expecting a shit show. It'll make it a lot less painful.

Because it's a good show, anon. Consistent drama and characters. Romance and comedy intertwined in a relatable story and theme.

It touches your heart in many ways while giving you good laughs.

Watching the OP/ED and simply feeling is just what you do after a good show.
