Feel free to post the visual novel or nip game that you are currently playing or have just finished.

I decided to try out Osananajimi wa Daitouryou with low expectations for shit and giggles, but found myself unusually invested in it. The art is nothing to write home about, the writing quality fluctuates in an unpredictable manner, and there are only a few choices that directly affect the story. Yet it has some charm to it, making me feel overly attached to the story. Maybe I just have naturally shit taste. Or maybe I was convinced after finding out that you can fuck a starship.

Don't play the uncensored version since it looks like utter shit.

Just finished World End Economica vol 2. Looking forward to playing 3, I'm loving that the main character can actually fail like a bitch

Wasn't that written by the guy who did Spice and Wolf? How does that work in a visual novel?

It's the same writer. It's mostly just about some delinquent kid playing the stock market game on Mars at least in the first volume. I haven't gotten to the other two volumes.

>can't wait to get to 0 and get ultra fucking depressed.

Already ahead of you.

It's kinetic. That is, no choices, one route, essentially a book.

On the moon, but yeah.

Come on, even though it's on the opposite end of the routes, Mayuri's ending was hype as fuck screw the bad ending though

I might have gotten it mixed up with Offworld Trading Company. Still, just a minor error.

I've only gotten the bad endings and now on my way to Kurisu's ending. I was in absolute tears at the very start of Antimotic Dual.

Maho is pure fucking bliss to contrast to Okabe's absolute sombre mood.

I started 0 a couple days back. Feels like the pace of the story is a lot slower than the original, but I'm still intrigued. I'm already one with the first chapter. In fact, I'm wondering if there is already a route branch when you are prompted to turn off Okabe's phone. Seems like doing so triggers a divergence shift, whereas leaving it on keeps you on the same world line.

Also, was this game illustrated by huke too? The art is so much better compared to original SG, it feels like it was illustrated by a different artist.

I finished Carnival recently. I can't help but feel there was originally supposed to be stories for the rest of the characters, since most of them don't do a lot besides get raped. I guess it makes sense to keep focus on Manabu and Risa though. Either way, I really liked the writing and Izumi's short branch was surprisingly well done, even if it did end abruptly.

Finished the first Sono Hanabira VN and felt like there was too much sex and not enough character interaction or development.

Are the other games going to be like that too?

Also anyone got a good comfy VN that doesn't try to be dark with unnecessary fantasy elements and suffering?

>Are the other games going to be like that too?

More or less. Y/u/ri fans take what they can get and consider the series as close as possible to what they've ever wanted so the maker just keeps delivering the same formula over and over and with different couples.

So upbeat VNs? For yuri Kindred Spirits was released last year. It's a comfy VN where the girls pair off, including an age-gap pairing. Also Aoi Shiro and while that's a bit heavy, it's still a good VN with daemons and such.

As for upbeat VNs, Majikoi is pretty good. Bunch of adventures over summer with a close group of friends with a route focusing on some pretty good heroines. Benkei best girl.

Really need to get around to that soon.

It was on the fan disc. Although I have to admit, it wasn't as much as romance as it was her trying to rape you and cuck her spaceship daughter right behind her back.

That would be why then, never played the fan disk, it was not out when i beat it first.

So Dies Irae is coming out on steam at the end of the month. To maximize profits, they're splitting it into two releases that will "merge into one" when you buy both of them. Hopefully a crack will be available shortly thereafter. I've been looking forward to reading this one for some time.

It took me a bit to get into S:G actually, but I got into it a few hours in. I hope it is the same for C;H.

VNs released on steam always get a crack within the same day, so it shouldn't take too long. Splitting a VN into parts like that pisses me off more than anything.

File: 42bd7a771da3a5b⋯.png (1.19 MB, 1366x768, 683:384, visual novels suck as a me….png)

After watching the steins;gate anime and playing Steins;gate 0 for like 7 hours I have to say VNs suck ass hard

>text describes the 'animations' so you're wasting double the time

>everything crawls at a fucking snails pace

>a million ancillary characters you give no shits about

>nothing happens for long long stretches of time

>auto-scroll or whatever you call it stops working after a load screen

>even max text speed, and using cheat engine to double the games clock speed and this shit is still too fucking slow.

I'm going the throw a no-commentary youtube longplaylist into potplayer and watch at 2.5x or 3x speed, my hat is motherfucking off to the assholes patient enough to play these borefest games. It's not that they can't be interesting it's that most of the time they're unimaginably boring, if you printed out the text as a book it'd be a really shitty book.

It sounds like Steins;Gate 0 was your first VN. Visual novels run the gambit between being short and long, and you happened to pick a long one. If you need to watch the things in a video instead of reading them then they probably aren't for you.

>if you printed out the text as a book it'd be a really shitty book.

Because the text is written to be accompanied by music, art, and occasionally spoken dialogue. A book is written with the intention of having to rely on the words alone to convey a scene and dialogue.

I don't need visuals I just find it frustrating to have this scene:

"she looked frustrated"

accompanied by a picture of her frustrated AND then the text of her speech

It's unnecessary. I like to get to the point rather quickly I hate when books are over descriptive I don't really care what the drapery looked like when our characters first met.

But anon she's an Autist.

Shes also the second best girl.

Childhood friend-chan a worst.

Reading One now, just finished Nagamori's route. I liked just about everything about it and was really blown away by the ending. Really magical stuff in my opinion. My only major complaint was Kouhei's tricking Nagamori into making out with that other guy in the dark. I get he was upset that her sudden romantic affection for him changed their relationship, ultimately destroying the friendship they'd had before, but that seemed awfully contrived, as did the resolution to it. It was the one part of the route where I felt the characterization didn't make any sense. Everything after that more than made up for it, though.

I enjoyed Nagamori's route a great deal more than Mio's, that's for sure. Up next in Nanase, wish me luck.

I just started playing VN about True Korea vacation shenanigans and cute girls. Pretty fun so far.

Wish there was more translated stuff from Eushully. Loved Kamidori and that short one about knocking opponents off of the map so you can fug 'em. Impregnation minigame where you're a sperm running away from vagina antibodies was hilarious.

Currently have MonQuest and Planetarian in my VN folder to play, but not until I finish Shikkoku No Sharnoth. Sekien No Inganok had something... Special about it, but I feel like it had a lot of potential as a puzzle game or turn-based game that it kinda threw out the window.

Good luck. I'm continuing to look. Pretty much all the Eushully games fall under it, but none of them are translated because Kamidori was apparently one of their "lighter" works. You might like pic related from >>678424 because of gameplay, but you really need to play Sekien No Inganock first in order to truly enjoy it.

Sage because triple post, but also, why is it some of the H-VNs are some of the best VNs even without the H-scenes?

Because you get to learn the characters, interact with them, and you have quite a bit of reading to do until you get to the H-scenes. It makes it a lot more enjoyable and memorable.

The worst thing about Katawa Shoujo is that none of it is real. None of it are things that could really happen in real life. In the VN, people are nice. They care, just a little. You can make small talk with people without them insulting you or looking at you funny. People are actually nice and look at you rather than through you. That kind of thing doesn't really happen in real life.

If it tells you anything, I take an anti-psychotic, anti-depressant, and two anti-seizure medications. I don't have seizures though, I use them for sleeping. Social interactions in school generally led to me freezing up or having panic attacks. If I did talk to someone it was generally quick and mean spirited. I lashed out a lot at people, probably out of fear that I'd hurt them (I was prone to psychotic outbursts of violence before I was medicated). I never had a friend, or anyone who gave a shit. I was an outcast and was properly treated that way.

In real life you don't get handled delicately if you have issues. Nobody gives a flying fuck, nobody is going to help you, and everyone just wants you to fuck off and go away. Nobody ever told me it was going to be okay. Before I got my life straight my parents were blunt and told me I'd end up in prison or worse. And then, even when I got my life together and can talk to people just fine without freezing up, people still don't give a shit about me.

This idea that you can just go out and make friends is a lie. It doesn't work like that. I have no idea how people make friends but I think normalfags are just able to automatically detect each other. Either way, it never gets better. Your problems are just going to fester and eventually you either waste away or end up shooting up a school/yourself because nobody would listen.

File: d13971278c23966⋯.png (630.23 KB, 1168x1662, 584:831, 74.png)

Anon it sounds like you have some personal issues. Admittedly I've gotten good at hiding my autism over the years, but it's not that hard to make a friend if you have similar interests (or even just share a class or two in trade school).

Now yeah, people don't generally give a shit about you from about Uni onwards because real life is a bitch, but from what little I remember from my high school days, they do give a shit. People want to spend time with you because they enjoy your presence, not because they wanna hear you bitch and moan. Just remember that fact.

If you're ever in the Colorado area, I'll be your friend and we can shoot shit at Dragon Man's. Actually, that offer goes to any anons out there. Even if I think you're a shitty person three minutes in we can spend some time together with our mutual interests. I work Monday through Sunday, but I know my schedule usually three weeks out. Hit me up at [email protected] if any of you autists ever wanna party with a strongfat alcoholic autist.

Was there any way to win Inganok's weird character clicking minigame other than by using a walkthrough or blind luck? I mean I never could figure out what I was supposed to do there, did they expect players to just keep saving and reloading and skipping until they go the right combination? It never seemed to make any sense to me.

From what I understand, it was pretty much blind luck.

>did they expect players to just keep saving and reloading and skipping until they go the right combination?

Allegedly there was a pattern to it, but that minigame was random as all fuck.

>why is it some of the H-VNs are some of the best VNs even without the H-scenes?

The success of 2Heart and other story-heavy H-VNs made publishers realize that story would sell more eroge than porn alone, and started adding plot to their pornography. Also many of the stories written didn't really rely on the H-content for plot's sake. The eroscenes often felt extraneous, I guess that's why it's so easy to turn around and make de-ero'd versions of H-VNs.

File: 87f274c5018877f⋯.jpg (195.95 KB, 1400x787, 1400:787, Maho is not a morning pers….jpg)

Well I've finished both Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 and what can I say except that all those fucks who said 0 was better than the original can suck a dick. The original was a tight, well-paced punch of sci-fi, tragedy and great moments while 0's quality was all over the place and had unnecessary twists and turns for the sake of having twists and turns. Get your shit together Chiyomaru, you fuck. On the positive side Maho is a miracle of the universe and the number of girls Kurisu cucked so hard their relationships literally never existed got even bigger.

Now I begin my wait for Dies Irae and hope the hype is true.

I hate animated sprites. I hate it when they try to do the thing where the mouth moves to match the voice over, even when you shut the voices off. For some reason my mind reads unanimated VN sprites like characters in a manga, I still get the sense of motion, animation. But when the lips move, or the eyes blind, generally the motion calls my brain's attention to the absence of motion in the rest of the sprite. It reminds me of those old cartoons, or those Conan O'Brien skits, where the "animation" is just a drawing/photo of someone with a mouth superimposed on it. With everything else so static is seems to distract me from the overall experience.

What's even worse are 3D sprites, like in robotics;notes, or more animated 2D sprites ala Neko Para. It always have an uncanny valley effect for me, when the sprites just sway back and forth, or fidget needlessly, repeating the same motion, or something close to it every time. Odd how some animated sprites don't trigger this in me: I played the Phoenix Wright games just fine, but I'm reading through the PC version of 999/No Escape right now, and it's distracting as fuck. Hopefully I'll get used to it.

>This idea that you can just go out and make friends is a lie

Not really, you just need to end up in circumstances where it can happen. I met one of my best friends in my college orientation group a few years ago. We just started talking about where we were from, turned out we were both from California, and from there just kept talking about stuff we both enjoyed. Then grabbed meals at dining halls. As time went on, I met his roommate and the other people they were getting to know, and we all ended up gathering for meals. He ended up being my roommate for the next 3 years, and I ended up with a big group of friends and acquaintances.

Thing is, I didn't have all of the issues you did. While I'm an introvert, I can talk with people just fine. I'm very reserved with my emotions. I'm incredibly tall, been bigger than the rest of my peers since kindergarten. Couldn't really play with the other kids because the teachers were afraid i'd hurt someone, even though I was fully aware of my size difference and what it meant. However, I had very supportive parents who also had high expectations for me.

It's not a lie, anon. It's just not the same for everyone. Were I in your situation, I probably wouldn't have become friends with my best friend. But something else might have come along where I would have the chance.

I've never met girls as great as the ones in Katawa Shoujo, so I'd say that's been the real lie so far.

In H scenes I have way more enjoyment looking at a looping animation than reading tons of flavor text with the same image still. I'm currently playing the post game on rance 6 and sometimes is a little hard getting off for so much text with only one and a half image. But maybe I'm just not used to it, since I'm kinda of a begginer on VN's now.

Reading S;G 0 like quite a few of you it seems.

After I finish it I don't know if I'll go back to Evenicle, finish Code Embryo or wallow in post-finishing-a-great-story misery for some time while I wait for the next Majikoi A-X translation.

Instead of playing VNs when you'd normally play a video-game, try reading them when you'd normally read a book.

>Having friends but no gf

Sounds par for the course, actually

I have actually only red like 3 books in my entire life. Even if i would like to read more litteraturen i have never invested time to do so. I don't really play that much of video games either anymore. I'm forcing myself to finish nier atm, even if i'm not really having that much fun most of the time. Hopefully i will have some more time after this semester.

Start with light novels or web novels. They're short books but usually comedic and fun to read. American/European classics are great but require a certain mindset that you can't just jump into if you're not an avid reader. Check out the LN thread and find something that pops out to you. An LN is usually only about 150-250 pages 11-14 point font single spaced, so you shouldn't have too many issues with them, and it'll relate back to your animu/mango familiarities enough to keep it interesting.

I think my first VN was KS since it's an easy read, just a time sink. OP's honorable mention is definitely a light and humorous VN, even though I ended up skipping 90% of the H-scenes. You might try something like Kamidori since it's half-game half-VN. Just don't jump into something that has a play time of more than 8 hours per arc if said playtime doesn't include gameplay. At least not for your first one or two VNs.

Oh and invest in a nice pair of noise cancellation headphones. VNs aren't VNs without sound, but it's super embarrassing sometimes when you accidentally enter a sex scene or shriek moment when other people are around. N-Not That I'd know from experience or anything...

>tfw after KS I read KonoSora, 35 hours

>then Grisaia, 75

It worked out though, since they're both really good

Thanks for the great tips anon. I have actually red a few vn's. I don't really consider those books.

I have played kamidori and was absolutely into it. Great game... Sengoku Rance is also really good.

I have also red all of g-senjou no maou, and i'm only missing 1 route in grisaia no kajitsu.

The issue is that these usually take like a year to read for me because i keep taking huge breaks. I will for sure look into some LN's. Got any recommendations?

I'm realizing that i'm just blogging atm. ^

Sorry guys.

Best grisaia girl btw.

I don't want to get into LNs too much in a VN thread, and I've gotta work all day, but I'll consider some on my laptop tonight that I'd recommend

I only got Kurisu's and Maho's endings so far, but I agree. 0 lacks the original's quality mostly because it lacks what made the original S;G so "magical". For instance, one of the things that made the story special and added another layer of suspense and mystery was how you never truly saw what the future Suzuha came from was like, regardless of worldline. But in the climax of Promised Rinascimento, we are exposed to what post WW3 Akiba is like. We directly see what that future is like, not to mention all the flashbacks with Suzuha. That's not exactly a major issue, but it makes S;G seem like yet another time travel story. The original kept you in the dark in a very unique way. You felt like you were caught in the middle of a global conspiracy, but you never get to see what it's really like. You never see anything happening directly. It's all very subtle. You feel like an ordinary person who has every right to feel paranoid about everything around them. The conspiracy never directly unfolds before you. All you can do is imagine what it's like based on the little tidbits of information you're given. It's like Okabe is fighting an invisible enemy, something he has to confront for the life of him but can never see directly. It makes you feel like the whole world is against him, like he's fighting against the unseen forces of fate. It enhances the mystery, makes everything so much more intriguing, especially early on when you just know shit will hit the fan at some point. You just don't know how exactly it will happen.

With 0, that special sense of subtlety is gone. Everything happens more quickly, in your face. There is a conspiracy happening around Okabe as well, but you feel like you have a clearer picture of what's happening. You know who the villains are. You know what their objective is and their means of achieving it. Most of the mystery lies on the details of the villains' moves and how the world line changes everytime (since you don't have D-mails). It lacks the fantastic mystery feel of the original. It's not as unique.

In fact, I still don't understand how the world line changes depending on how you interact with Amadeus. In Promised Rinascimento, Okabe says that the world line changes depending who has Kurisu's memories. I guess that is meant to imply whoever has them creates their own time machine and means of changing the past like the D-mail?

I do agree that Maho is love. I want to ruffle her hair.

>Not choosing Amane, the girl who acts like a slut yet has a strangely motherly side to her.

>The whole Angelic Howl part and how that ties the three characters together.

>Not choosing Sachi, the good girl who reprogrammed herself that way after what happened on her birthday.

>Slowly getting her to open up and make decisions for herself and not from the people around her, like with her maid dress.

>Her damn after story in Meikyuu and how saccharin that is.

Yumiko's afterstory ending is pretty good though.

Still need to go through g-senjou as well.

21. And where I live, sex stuff is not so degenerate and open like it is in America.

I just finished Stein's gate 0. It was pretty fucking good. Felt really nice how everyone except kouma was having a good time. Some of the changes in the world lines felt like they made now sense this time but whatever.

What country anon? I live in Norway actually.

3DPD are so fucking gross

Thats the issue for me. Amane's route is the only one that i havent been able to finish yet in grisaia. The fact that she is openly a slut, and also acts like an older sister/mother is a total turn off for me. I took a long break after i noticed that her scenes came around so early in her route.

Sachi is defiantly next best girl. Michuru got the most fun personality, but i didn't like her route at all.

File: 98c8807e5c83c98⋯.jpg (161.62 KB, 1600x900, 16:9, maxresdefault.jpg)

Well now you gotta go finish it. Like I said, Sachi and Amane are tied to Yuuji, Sachi being the childhood friend but Amane being something else.

>I live in Norway actually.

I'm from south Brazil. The reason I said that, is that I recently realized that many of the stories I heard of public schools in America and similar countries are actually the norm. I changed school 10~ times in many different regions and cities and never saw something truly fucked up and degenerate. But I did study in particular schools (which is the norm for middle class here) with almost no blacks.

And I am truly clueless about a bunch of details in the real world. In some ways, it feels better that way.

>Light novel set vaguely in the future.

>Features a tall, lanky man with long hair, long beard, and glasses.

>Very clearly hasn't gone outside in awhile.

>Some things in his room point to a specific past in firearms, however.

>He lives in a small house nestled far away from where anyone could ever hope to find him.

>One day he comes across an onion link.

>It takes him to a website.

>Officially, it's for a dead pool. But it quickly becomes clear that it's a site for anonymous assassinations.

>Everyone bets on the man who has a hit on him.

>One man arrives at the destination, puts in his guess, kills the target, and then anonymously gets his money.

>Everything is done with electronic currency that's really only good for other black market shit.

>Our protagonist realizes he can cash in on this.

>He stumbles into the criminal world, acquiring money quickly.

>Eventually he comes into contact with a local group of criminals.

>He's finally been noticed.

>They force him to work with their little group, threatening to blackmail him and put up a death pool for him.

>He's forced to go along with it. He doesn't have a choice.

>The group is a small group of professionals.

>A Chad-tier gunman.

>A Dandere driver.

>A representative of a local Russian mafia who is along for the ride.

>And a silent clean up girl who handles corpses and torture.

>The group travel the world, taking care of anonymous hits and other criminal dealings.

>The drama in the VN comes from everyone having to stay as anonymous as possible. Everyone they come into contact with, and even each other, is considered a loose end.

>The game eventually ends on a bittersweet note assuming the good ending. The group gets away clean, but naturally break apart because of the reality of their dealings.

>Our character retires with the money he's made, and goes back to rotting away as a NEET.

>One of the bigger points is that our characters didn't change for the better. Arguably, they became worse off. It wouldn't be like GTAV's ending, where everyone got off scotfree, clean, and left happy-go-lucky.

W-would you play it?

They always took real backgrounds and overlaid them with painted on shit if I remember right.

Sounds cool anon. I would especially really like it if the player had choices that dealt with the tactical decisions of the team's hits, but also had character driven consequences. I see a lot of room for feels with different character endings/deaths.

Here you go, anon. Regarding those LNs, I'm gonna send you over to the LN thread so as not to spam the VN thread with unrelated content. Polite sage: >>680557

Thanks anon. You are a cute!

Is this the most sexually arousing ice skater to ever come from Japanese fiction?

>make VN

>fill it with waifus and their routes

>do not feature a harem route

What's the point?

Most people can't write a good harem and would just dilute the personalities of every girl to achieve a harem end. It's not a big loss.

The idea would be to make the harem route the last one to be unlocked, and build it on top of all the character development the girls receive during their individual routes.

>It's not a big loss.

It is for me.

Sure, but that takes a good writer to pull off. Something like what that faggot in Saekano is doing is what you could expect from the average VN if they were to do a harem. It is better than a total lack of a harem end, but not by much.

I do agree. My main issue with most romance in anime/VN/manga/etc. is how it tends to be handled, and by that I mean in the laziest way imaginable.

It's usually an endless parade of cockblocks, status quo resets and bullshit drama for the sake of drama so they have enough filler for the whole season. There's very little character development pas the point of the two destined (by author fiat) lovers other than overcoming whatever retarded obstacles are in the way.

One way to circumvent this is not to make the romantic (sub)plot about a love geometry, but to focus on one pair and keep chronicling their evolving romance. Turns out that it's easier to write about people falling in love than it is about people being in love. For most fiction (and not just Japanese one) love ends upon the moment of confession.

Another way to make the romantic plot about something more substantial is to make it harem. Now you don't have to worry about actually choosing a heroine because all of them win and you can actually focus on how these characters interact with each other and learn to make the relationship work. A harem without a harem ending is pure fucking bullshit, it's just pointless filler there to fuck with the audience.

>it was her trying to rape you and cuck her spaceship daughter right behind her back

>obvious virginal blood

I see this explanation as unlikely.

>Turns out that it's easier to write about people falling in love than it is about people being in love

It's really not unless you've never been in a relationship. Once people are in love and past the initial lovey dovey stage, there's the becoming comfortable with public displays of affection phase, the "babe just decide what you fucking want to eat" phase, the sharing hobbies phase, the toothbrush and shared T-shirt phase followed by the moving in phase, the popping back pimples phase... Need I go on?

Not to mention the inevitable fights that go along with that because there's no such thing as the perfect couple.

File: aebd3d9c1373ab2⋯.jpg (153.36 KB, 1024x576, 16:9, smug_ploa.jpg)

>I see this explanation as unlikely.

I know G-Senjou is 18+, but I can't imagine Kanon being for lewds. She's like Kazuko from Majikoi: she is for headpats, hand holding and bullying.

>In real life you don't get handled delicately if you have issues. Nobody gives a flying fuck, nobody is going to help you, and everyone just wants you to fuck off and go away.

If you do have something valuable to contribute but also have issues, they'll get what they want and then toss you out like garbage.

Real life is about trying to one-up each other any way you can, may the scummiest win. Nobody gives a fuck.

So why do virtually all romances in fiction end with the confession? Clearly writers either have a problem writing about people in a committed relationship, or the majority of people simply aren't interested in such content, though I can't imagine why considering how repetitive the usual romance plots get.

But anon, Wanko quickly goes lewd after going through the loss of her hopes and dreams

File: 484953f032a11ef⋯.jpg (110.33 KB, 800x600, 4:3, mikan one end.jpg)

>So why do virtually all romances in fiction end with the confession?

It is a nice stopping point that feels natural, especially if the journey of getting to the confession was more important to the author when writing the scenario. Plus it lets the readers make up their own fantasy of what the characters do when they are in a relationship.

Speaking of Wanko, I never expected Wanko to Kurasou to be so depressing and lewd at the same time when I played it.

>especially if the journey of getting to the confession was more important to the author when writing the scenario

Which is complete fucking bullshit. It always feels artifical as fuck because it's obvious to everyone both characters are in love. It's not like they start off as just friends or slowly get to know each other, no, it's apparent they have feelings for each other but we have to extend this blue balling bullshit for a 100+ chapters. I think it's more interesting to see what happens after the confession, because confession is the easy part, making it work is far more difficult.

Also, I like post confessions because there's far less chance of shitty love triangles and retarded drama. I don't get the fascination with retarded miscommunication scenarios when you could see the girl getting headpats and cuddle.

I recommend フレラバ. It has some solid post-confessions.

Just finished Umineko, i have mixed feelings about the ending though i feel like i need to think about it for a couple of days

The whole "I remembered all these memories but they don't feel like they belong to me i'm a different person" excuse is paper thin is probably the thing i disliked the most

She is defenetly the strongest side route character. And if she had a strong main route she would defently be up competing with Usami Haru.

I was comepltetly in love with her while playing the game. The fun music, and the ways she said ni-chan ni-chan or whatever.

Good character.>>680654

It's simple, anon, the aLolien built her spaceship and was never deflowered.

Really? The biggest problem for me was Beato most likely being a tranny

It also took me a while to realize that Kanon and Shannon were the same person, I had to be told afterwards. I'm just too fucking dense. And for that matter, I still have no idea what the meta world is supposed to represent.

I've been told that the manga explains the whole Beatrice/Shannon/Kanon thing better, i'm planning on reading it, as for the meta world i think is only used to show the various Rokkenjima theories since nobody knows for sure what happened there, think of it a simulation program for what happened in Rokkenjima

That's true, I've read through the manga as well and it explicitly states the solutions to the mysteries when Will gives cryptic answers during episode 7. There's also the bonus story "Confessions of the Golden Witch" in episode 8 that explains everything from Sayo's perspective, complete with lots of feels. It also shuts down Rosatrice.

Did you run it with a locale emulator?

You're running it with the fan disk expansions, aren't you?

Original four characters version loads just fine. Fan disk versions with harem route and /a/lolian has all kinds of bells and whistles you have to get through to make it run properly.

I don't think so, no. I'm pretty certain I got the vanilla version this time around.

Maybe it just doesn't run on windows 10.

When is Windows going to get a decent package management system

Never, and it is only going to get worse.

Man, that VN annoyed me. The premise seemed like it would allow them to do some interesting stuff but nope, all of the characters still attend school and it ends up being just another high school SoL following the same conventions as all the others.

My overwhelming feeling was of disappointment. Would it have killed them to do something different?

I read the first of those recently too, and was surprised to find that it was pretty much a nukige. I'd always assumed they were a little more innocent. I still think I'll read the others though because I want to get to the one with the loli and her teacher.

Judging by the vndb pages it looks like there are several crossover entries, those could be pretty fun.

Thanks again anon-kun. I just started playing. Good soundtracks.

When a VN's voiced, do you guys let the voicing play out fully for every line, or do you just click through as fast as you can read? I always turn the voices off as I like the story to flow at the speed I can read and having the voices cut off abruptly at every line is annoying, plus I prefer to make up voices for the characters in my head.

I leave them on if the acting is decent overall, but I only listen to the lines I like. I don't really mind the lines getting cut off.

I always let the voices play out fully, unless the VA is really bad or the character speaks agonizingly slowly. If I click through as fast as I can read I usually miss things or what is written doesn't sink in at all and I can't recall it as well later.

I usually let the voices play out. But if it has sex scenes I often skip much of the moaning.

Normally I let the lines play out, since I often read while I'm tucked in my bed or laying on the couch, so auto ends up being pretty handy.

>when you've been studying for almost a year now and simple shit like this is still too hard

I have no idea what the part past the period means. Fuck me it still feels like I'm at square one.

It's actually pretty rare for me to leave the voices on. Usually I just turn them off and read the lines in my head and develop a voice for the character there.

I leave them on and listen to them, but when I begin to get burnt out on the VN I'll begin to skip through the dialogue and speed-read. I use that as a sign to stop for the day.

>Listening to voices while skipping the fake moans and shit

I just let them play out. Auto mode is really handy in this case. To me, the voices just add to the experience. It's now the creators intended the work to be enjoyed. Besides, I find it pleasant to just listen to them.

Sometimes I'll let the voice acting play out if I want to know how a line of dialogue was inflected, or if I'm curious about what a word or phrase was translated from, but I usually just go at my normal reading speed.

File: 867d1bba9582830⋯.png (Spoiler Image, 1.79 MB, 1600x900, 16:9, post_milkywaycrossing_mayu….png)

Replayed Steins;Gate 1 after getting all the endings for 0. Was shocked when I saw pic related.

I liked how many loops and twists the story had on its way to the conclusion, along with how dark the Suzuha end is.

I forgot this was a thing. Hopefully the translation is complete shit.

The problem there is that most people reading translations don't actually care if they're shit or not. Light is guaranteed a certain number of sales from people who decided they would buy before it was even released, and as long as it isn't unreadable the number of people who will refuse to buy it due to the translation are so few they're probably outnumbered by impulse buyers. So neither Light nor the translators have any reason to put in more than the bare minimum amount of effort required. They already have the Prefundia and Kickstarter money. This all results in more games being marred by bad translations once they know what they can get away with.

How hard does it drop animation frames? Have you tried running nekopara's animated scenes on it?

The ones I can I play on my Weebstation ViNa, the rest I play on my notebook.
