What's the trashiest, most garbage anime you've watched? Can be something you dropped instantly or some so-bad-it's-good trainwreck that you watched until the end.
For me, it was King's Game. Everything about it was so garbage it was perfection; from QUALITY to nonsensical plots, everything compounded into something that truly magical. I cannot recommend watching it enough, it is garbage perfected.
Can't really think of any. I've watched a few that had some QUALITY moments but rarely anything that was that level of pure shit.
I guess the closest would be the 2016/2017 Berserk anime.
Berserk 2016. Before that it was Arcana Familia, it was utter trash made from the most generic shit. No idea if it got better later on, but I'll bet my left nut it fucking didn't.
Shoutouts to all the anons who watched all of Juuni Taisen last year and posted on the threads.
I had fun but in a really awful way.
Talking about trainwrecks, Kabaneri was just that.
A real trash show with no redeeming qualities whats so ever, and I deleted instantly after watching it was Nazotokine.
It was only 7 minutes per episode, but that didn't stave off the total boredom. 7 fps animations (when they actually bothered to animate) didn't help either.
Handshakers. I'm not even sure why I stuck it out to the end.
I want to say there's a tie between Lance n' Masques and Juuni Taisen, but at the very least Lance n' Masques was so shit that it was enjoyable, plus it had a humorous mare and the titty monster blonde chick, so Juuni Taisen it is. Dear Lord it was a snoozefest after Chicken died.
I remember that once Kemono Friends skyrocketed, there were people baiting and saying that Heybot and Handshakers were the superior series and KF a meme anime. I didn't watch the series but it was the only thing I remember it for.
Ousama Game deserves a spot in this thread
Main girl and store owner were cute. Everything else was a bad rip off of K.
Bungou Stray Dogs was complete shit and I watched two seasons of it. I was at that point in my anime-watching career where I wanted to finish everything for completion's sake.
Thankfully I've learned to drop shit anime since then. And also stopped using vlc.
This shit is The Room of anime
It's fucking hilarious and I've seen it 10+ times.
>Ousama Game deserves a spot in this thread
Are retarded or just unable to read?
Trashiest I've watched is Hajimete no Gal.
There are many nominees depending on what angle to take on it, but the most deserving one is Shuumatsu no Izetta. The first episode was beautiful and really well done, it left me with very high expectations. Then the following episodes I started seeing red flags pop up, more and more, and it just came crashing down into a completely generic shonenshit-tier plot about ebil mastermind keikakudoori nazis. It was an absolute fuckup that I would've hated even if I hadn't gotten my hopes up.
HenSemi deserves a special mention for the most excessive 2DPD I've encountered in animated form.
Probably the worst anime that ever managed to become mainstream
Too bad i can't find any images of it but Blade & Soul had some prety bad QUALITY in the later half.
So you are completely reliant on other peoples opinions and can't form an original thought of your own?

I hate it when shows have false intros
That was a great ride, though. Dan was my favorite. Best guy.
Nah, I just follow my little flow chart.
1. Does an anime catch my interest this year? If yes, then go to step 2.
2. Let /a/ watch an episode or two. Is the conversation primarily about how the anime is shit? If yes, drop it so I don't waste my time with it. If no, start watching.
This way, I don't end up with disappointment unless the anime fucks up in the middle or end.
Eromanga Sensei is the most garbage anime I've seen in recent memory. At first I enjoyed it, like eating a greasy fast-food meal. It was at episode 7 that the nausea of what I was consuming finally set in, and I dropped it.
Most trash I've sat through is 11 eyes. I must have been really bored to watch it to the end. The fuck is wrong with me?
People on /v/ do this shit all the time.
Take people's opinion too seriously, but you can't blame anyone but yourself if you waste your time watching/playing.
This was entertaining for good and bad reasons until the last episode. The last episode did not happen.
To this day Aquarion Evol is the only anime I've ever just dropped.
Agreed, it was cool for the first bit. I stopped caring yet i kept watching just to get it over with? Then they must have ran outta budget and gave up.
I sometimes don't end the suffering at the 3 episode mark, just watch the rest of it for completionist sake.
Some i can't stomach, like jap Garfield and Black clover.
I heard Lodoss was a classic from 90's but I found it boring as hell and I didn't even managed to watch the last 2 episodes.
That's kinda missing the point of the thread, isn't it?
>What's the trashiest, most garbage anime you've watched?
No matter how much you disliked it, can you really say that it was one of the trasheist you ever watched? I mean, there's a lot of shows that I think are just bad but even they don't deserve a spot here. Same with quite a few other shows that have been posted here. They might be shit but none of them are the kind of senseless low budget QUALITY the Mars of Destruction or Ousama Game are.
Well, in my opinion being boring is worse than being trashy. A trashy anime at least is fun to see out of sheer curiosity how bad it can get.
Between Parn's gay boner for the Arab King and the black Elf deliberately getting her own Elves and human men into fights I found Record of Lodoss War pretty funny.
Master of Martial Hearts aka Zettai Shougeki Platonic Heart. Watch the English dub for maximal shittery.
Umaru-chan was pretty fucking terrible. Something about it just felt evil to me as well. I can't say why though.
Upotte! is probably the show that I had the least scruples about dropping since it was just a complete NOTHING show. I don't get the point of it at all and I'm a gun nut so whatever I guess.
Denpa Kyoushi for sure. There is nothing good about the show. It's bottom of the barrel trash. Still somehow got 24 episodes though.
It's GTO without the charm. I'll never forget the thread we had here where we discovered it got 24 episodes. A great number of us dropped it at that point (Episode 12)
The only entry of the Garo Franchise that is utter garbage.
Aww, I liked "Straight Punch", unfortunately after the second episode, you didn't see her again until the end.
But for lameness, I can't think of anything I've actually sat through that was worse than Luck and Logic. It took every possibility to do something good, and decided to just be utter crapulence.
But the one series that I don't know of anyone else who would admit to liking-except maybe me-has to be Pupa. 12 episodes, about 40 minutes total of pure nausea. It's my favorite series to troll with.
"Oniichan.....munch munch....Oniichan....munch". Truly a work of art.
They made more?
I wasn't hardcore enough to play the actual game, so I just watched this. Part of me deeply regrets having enjoyed it, even a little bit. It gave me the kind of feeling inside of my soul that grown men who watch MLP should be getting, to tell them that this just isn't right.
>I wasn't hardcore enough to play the actual game
Disgaea doesn't require you to be hardcore at all, it just requires your time.
Is that that anime about a physics genius who chose to be a otaku and was forced to teach a highschool class by his sister? What is with these garbage glorifying the otaku lifestyle?
Pic related is garbage too.
> Luck and Logic
At least Hina Logi was great.
Kill la Kill. First half was alright, but then it just went downhill on the last half.
I'm glad someone liked Hina Logi too.
How many years into it do you have to do to reach that point?
Suisei no Gargantia is probably the worst I've sat through in its entirety. Needed more dancing bitches.
>Umaru-chan was pretty fucking terrible
No, I was wrong. This has to be it. I at least got some brief enjoyment out of Gargantia.
I usually hate spoiled cunts, but I can't bring myself to hate Umaru when she's crying in her tiny form.
souten no ken was bad but I watched to the end
gungrave was not only bad but also made me feel worse the more I watced, by the end I felt like a soiled diaper awaiting disposal
I sat through the first iteration of K because I thought that in spite of it being fujo bait, I would at least get a nice chuuni fight but it didn't really happen; I even gave the second iteration a shot but died before the first episode even ended
as much as people complain about new anime, the bar was much lower for old shows, like I doubt we'll ever see another polyphonica or soul link again
Kurau phantom memory, never have super powers been duller. It's not bad so much as a charisma and excitement vacuum, I have no clue why I powered through every episode. I liked the father daughter stuff though but it didn't justify a 25 episode run.
They would have better luck making genetically engineered catgirls for domestic ownership. Kemono > cat girls
Seriously, why the fuck is the MC of Gate basically a otaku Navy Seals elite? Do these faggots think that this shit makes their characters more relatable? It isn't even an important part of his character.
Pupa was only 12 episodes, it just felt like it went on forever. Sometimes when I have 40 minutes to kill, I'll re-watch it. Either that, or +tic Nee-San.
My tastelessness has few boundaries, but yes, Luck and Logic sucked ass with a slurpee straw.
Ousama Game was fun to watch with /a/. Shame not enough anons were watching it while it aired, so we could shitpost about it more.
Even trainwrecks have treasures.
I feel Knights and Magic from last season was the most egregious example of this. You can get rid of the "MC is an otaku from another world" and the show would still work.
"Hardcore" doesn't necessarily mean "having a lot of skill"; it usually means "giving enough of a fuck". In this case, "giving enough of a fuck to grind levels for the next four years."
Upotte is the worst kind of bad anime: one with so much wasted potential. The basic premise is great, wonderful even. It's the otaku operator's dream anime. It's like something /k/ would have come up with after three days straight of binge drinking and laying off their autism medication. Unfortunately, said premise is never fleshed out the least bit. They never took time to actually write a story around it! It's just the bare concept you show to a producer or studio in hopes of getting a contract. 90% of the entire anime is either said premise being literally pointed out to us, or explained at length and lampshaded. It's the storytelling equivalent of explaining a joke.
I dropped it after just a few episodes, because the entire time I was watching it, I was shaking my head and saying to myself "so much wasted potential... so much wasted potential" over and over again.
Both had pretty good character designs though.
The manga was pretty good.
Both of these are among the worst of the worst I've seen. The first is an awful adaptation of an actually good VN at least until EP 6, where it just shits on itself and actually calls people out for trying to do the very thing they've been encouraged to do since the beginning of the story. At least the voice acting is decent, but literally everything else is utter dogshit from beginning to end. It's the worst kind of adaptation that not only fails to capture what the original tried to accomplish, but is made to be completely soulless right down to its presentation. I will give it to them, the OP and ED were great.
The second is an absolute travesty that makes an almost offensive use of CGI to draw most action scenes. Imagine a sentai that tries way too hard to be edgy, with character development that is virtually non-existant unless particular characters are forced to act unexpectedly simply in order to move the plot. The 'team' in charge of taking down amalgams (I think that's what they're called) are composed of some of the most incompetent morons on the planet. They're not designated heroes who want to help, but always fail to accomplish something crucial. They're completely unaware of their own setbacks, failing but never growing, never reconsidering. The redhaired guy is probably the member that infuriated me the most. Why is an ex-bike racer enlisted in a special military squad? He barely ever follows orders and mostly yells over people being somehow shocked that his non-homo bro for life turned into a monster. Up to where I've watched he's threatened to be court martialed twice, but almost nothing he does has any consequence. And if none of this is enough, the writers had the audacity to shoehorn some thinly veiled "social commentary" about muh immigrants and muh xenophobia when immigration is implied to be the primary cause of the entire goddamned conflict in the plot which would make the adopted little brother's bullies right all along, hilariously enough.
There are also minor nitpicks that made me think the creators thought nothing through, such as how come a kid whose family is supposedly on the brink of starvation somehow able to attend school regularly, much less afford a goddamned current gen video game?
Is 11eyes another case of a bad VN adaptation? The source material intrigued me because I'm a sucker for chuuni.
>implying Popotan isn't 10/10 except for the slut megane
I would have to say lucky star, i got to about episode 15 thinking it'd get better but eventually I just lost all interest. I'm not sure why, i figured if i got to episode 15 i could probably watch the rest but I never went back.
Funny, I've been rewatching Lucky Star recently and I feel like I'm enjoyed it even more than I used to. There's something about this cute depiction of mundane activities that I find really endearing. Might be because the cuteness isn't the sole focus of the show.
That's not true shit.
I want to see stinking turds.
I watched the first episode of RWBY. hated the art style though.
Watched pic related (the whole thing) with my housemates. Main dude is a dumbshit from space (the type that constantly repeats shit that he doesn't know, a la " lunch? what is this lunch you speak of?"). Main girl is your generic naive cheerful girl.
Come on, QUALIDEA was cheap as hell but it was an entertaining show in spite of that. The big twist became a bit too obvious too early on and really they kind of give it away in the OP even but it had good characters, especially the brother and sister. I also really liked how they make absolutely no attempt at any cheesy power of friendship bullshit to redeem the blue haired girl.
I tend to drop a lot of shows a lot of shows I consider bad early so there aren't many I can say I've watched till the end and know have no redeeming qualities. Blood Lad maybe.
>Is the conversation primarily about how the anime is shit? If yes, drop it so I don't waste my time with it.
But what do you do when the anime is so shit it becomes hilarious?
There's a couple of different types of bad. There's boring-bad like Red Data Girl where I can't even remember what if anything happened and I was bored out of my mind the whole time. And there's trainwreck-bad like pic related where it was bad and completely batshit insane but at least stuff was happening and it was entertaining to watch with /a/.
>the fucking penguin
There's also shows that were presumably another level of bad but neither I nor anyone else got past the first episode to tell anyone about it. Code:Breaker is presumably one, but I have never encountered any anon that actually watched it so we'll never know how bad it truly was.
Marathon Arcana Famiglia, then.
To this day I have no idea why I sat through this shitheap of a show.
>The big twist became a bit too obvious too early
We only guessed it like 1-2 episodes before they revealed it
Well, it's the result of a few writers getting drunk together and coming up with a light novel series. I doubt they could have asked for a higher budget.
The first season of Negima. Everyone ignores it and talks about the later Shaft adaptation (Negima!?) instead.
Gungrave, Outbreak Company, SAO (even if its a given), Sorcerer Hunters and Megazone 23.
Special A's was eSpecially Awful.
Is that supposed to be a bodyhorror show?
That trash fire went up in flames in a gorgeous way.
.HAck//sign (come at me)
Durarara season2 (i should re-watch the blue ray re-edits)
Scum's wish (i read this one)
.hack//Legend of the Twilight
Yuki nagato's spin off series
The DANMACHI spin off sieries
I've heard RWBY's art gets better by season 3, but the dialogue is still awful, and the action scenes don't stick out to me very much.
The first twelve episodes are a normal shitty harem with all the tropes that go along with it.
In the thirteenth episode the main guy falls of a cliff. In order to save him it is revealed the main girl has magical healing powers. She uses up the rest of her energy to save him. It's then revealed that she's actually from the future and she is transported back to the 31st century so she doesn't die. The End
Ben-to was fine compared to most others here
>Have five scenarios repeated over 26 episodes
>Explain as little as possible about world
>Have plot that goes nowhere
>Be forgotten about instantly after airing
>Only remembered for a gay cat
And even then
>gay cat forgotten by the next gay of the season
The only redeeming factor of Green Green was getting Ur@n to do the theme song. Even the eroge wasn't good, and helped squash the idea of ever getting a KiraKira series. Bastards.
One lousy OVA, that's all. Thanks GreenGreen for screwing things up for Overdrive.
YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.
It was better than anything the show deserved.
>Thanks GreenGreen for screwing things up for Overdrive
Well that makes it even worse. I never played Kirakira but I loved listening to the music from it.
It's too bad that Suisei no Gargantia is shit. I really wanted to watch it when I read about the premise and saw all the hot girls.
Leaving aside the fact that it's isekai trash, every character is basically a one trick pony who only exists to repeat the same stupid joke every episode.
>masochism is funny guys
>look, aqua did something retarded again!
I will never understand how can normalfags stomach two seasons of this garbage and still want a third one. It's like a shitty anime version of The Three Stooges.
The real protagonist of Gargantia is the giant robot.
Uh no, the real protagonist of Gargantia is the "monsters".
This is my favorite VN ever. The eroge is good, but the storyline is awesome if you're into music, but some of the routes, if chosen wrong, will tear your heart out. There is a subbed version of the "clean" version of the VN available, and either one works.
Pic related, it's my favorite petit nendoroid ever.
>The three stooges are now cute anime girls
But anon that is a good concept, look out for when the rights for this IPs become common use and you'll now have a way to compete in the hyper competitive Japanese LN market with all those 14 years old autheurs.
Genuine garbage. There's more, but why bother.
Mars of Destruction will always be the biggest piece of crap I ever saw
I heard madoka was actually good, What made it bad in your opinion?
These threads always attract contrarians who love to mention popular series they didn't care for.
YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.
To be fair, after Hell in The Hole it gets better and the last episodes with the War Games arc is really, really good. It's just that a good chunk of this anime's episodes are genuine fucking trash, especially the dojo one.
This one was fun to watch.
Himegoto for sure. This shit isn't even funny.
The art did get better, but dear god the plot...
Everything that made it endearing to me in Season 1 just died in that season.
I love Emilia.
While I would admit that it does get repetitive, the anime and LNs did try to go somewhere with the characters and the plot. The characters still feel relatable to a certain extent, even though they're all these retards running around with their heads in frogs.
Oh man, I remember that one. The biggest problem is that 80% of the characters felt like a load, the only romance or plot was between MC, tsundere bitch and the red-haired girl that cockblocked MC. It also had a gay orgy and the girls suddenly loved the three retard friends in the last episode, even if they never fucking fleshed them out. Cactus-chan was too good for the series.
I loved Elfen Lied back then, but I'm sure I'd find it shit nowadays. I remember it had very long panning shots maybe to pad out the runtime.
There are a number of VN/Eroge that have been adapted mentioned in this thread, 11 Eyes being one, and the post right below yours being another (I still enjoy Popotan though).
Polyphonica is another eroge-to-anime series that just didn't quite click either. I am surprised anyone even remembers this. But I can counter with another from this style.
I would have posted a larger picture, but trust me, the less seen of Tsuyokiss, the better.
Oh well, not all eroge get a decent anime series like Shuffle! did.
So, you're saying everyone is obligated to like it?
It's just a bad anime. When it was released it got attention due to it "deconstructing" Magical Girl shows with its dark themes and due to visuals.
But you know what? This brought nothing to the table as the show itself was boring as fuck.
It gained popularity mainly due to little girls + "so bad it's funny" memes.
You just lost your way.
Aldnoah Zero. Prime example of how you can start strong with an illusion you know exactly where you're going to the second half of the story where it all not only falls apart, but irredeemably taints any enjoyment you had with the strong beginning because the people left to pick up Urobuchi's pieces had zero clue where to go from the initial premise and tone outlined by him.
To this day I'm still mad I wasted about 12 hours of my life watching that shit, and that was when I had tons of free time.
What happens in the second season? Did Urobuchi come back to write the first episode for that as well?
I found Cowboy Bebop to be boring, not garbage, just boring. Episodic things aren't my cup of tea.
It's not uncommon to think that, but many snob retards think there are holy animes who are not liable to criticism, and if you do criticize them, then the problem is actually within you (a pleb, normalfag, shit taste), as you can't possible dislike what they like.
>Implying that anime three stooges is a bad concept
I was super pumped for a second season, because of the end of the first. I thought that we were going to see the rest of the characters cope and struggle and step up to fill the shoes of their now dead Gary Stu while a war was now all out due to the death of the princess.
I don't know why I ever thought something that cool would happen in a nipland motion shitshow.
I wish I had the audience applause gif for your post, but alas, I am at work. But yes, thank you.
I'd certainly say [popular show] belongs right on this list. It has a very bad plot, bad characters and horrible execution. It's nothing but fucking garbage.
Not going to into detail why though.
The "real" part was the worst part of that show. Everything plot related was great.
And yet despite bringing nothing new to the table, it was the first "actually is dark and serious" anime to a lot of people, therefore whenever something dark happens no matter the genre nor the time that anime was released at least someone will say "they pulled a madoka".
>"actually is dark and serious"
I hope you're joking.
I really enjoyed Kazuma's VA.
Well, going from my memory, the Earth forces have achieved a phyrric victory over the martian invasion forces. The main general/knight shot in the face by his lieutenant, but not before taking out the princess (shot in the face and collapsed in a pool of blood), the autistic MC gets shot in the face as well, what's left of the defenders are all battered, bruised, but plenty of decent characters that could continue the fight like the flagship female captain and the veteran tank gunner with PTSD.
>the MC wasn't actually shot ded, his eye was just popped out, haha wew lucky huh
>oh and we installed a goddamn supercomputer that can calculate the fucking FUTURE in his eye so he can autism better
>the princess isn't actually dead, sillies, just in suspended animation and her cripple sister now parades as the real thing, cue some pointless drama nobody gives a shit about
>the bratty lieutenant that killed off the knight in the epilogue of first season gets captured and tortured by another knight, then set free and later stages a military coup, becoming the leader of the invasion force, somehow trying to cosplay as Reinhardt von Lohengramm
>the support cast of the Earth coalition does absolutely nothing relevant after that point and are just a decoration for autismo 1v1 killing everything forever
>in one of the last episodes of the second seas, the fucking eye computer turns out to be able to take over the fucking autismo MC's body when he falls unconscious what the fuck
What a fucking shitshow. I don't even remember how it ended, it was so terrible I am blanking on the details. It was as if they were drawing inspiration from many other series at that point, picking up only the surface details from them, tossing them at the board and hoping them to stick without any of the actual hard work put in to make those themes work. It just felt like you're suddenly watching a fanfic. Shit, it's possible it was a fanfic from the start, just the initial three episodes hooked me in and I quite liked the ending of the season because they were taking risks. But then they just backpedal on everything at the very first episode of the second season and it just goes to complete shit.
His main point is that it pretends to be something else up until ep 3 where someone's head is bitten off and the tone for the rest of the anime changes from the than point onward, rather than it actually being significantly dark or serious.
I remember how it ended. I wish I didn't
>they pull some random orbital knight prince out of their ass and the real princess has to marry him in order to end the war
>MC 1v1s Slaine (the blonde guy), obviously wins, but doesn't let him kill himself and keeps him locked up in a jail on Earth because the princess asked to save him
>I remember how it ended. I wish I didn't
Thanks for the reminder anon, now we can share that pain. Yeah, that fucking random noble to marry out of fucking nowhere so the Mars slut can cuck the guy who did all that stupid rebellion shit for her and that he can forever rot in jail disgraced as a traitor and a war criminal in a fate worse than death. Everyone else lives happily ever after.
I tried to watch Owari no Seraph. I could barely last two episodes, but I still regret not dropping it sooner. First time an anime actually made me angry with how unbearably dumb, insipid and cringy it was.
All I can remember of that besides Shinoa's irresistible smug was the human military summoning Cthulhu at the end of S2, while revealing and introducing an insurmountable number of Keikaku in the last 5 minutes.
Is the manga any less shit?
I knew I wasn't going to like Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid as soon as I saw the opening. The aesthetics are pretty nice, although the show itself is way too "lol random xD". I made myself watch it anyway, just to see if it would get better. It didn't. It had a couple good moments like when Kobayashi buys Kanna that backpack trinket but that was it. It triggered my autism pretty hard with just how awkward it was in general with its odd cutesy approach.
What did you think of the manga?
I think I made it to ~ep 12, then quit. From what I've heard, the manga actually has decent character arcs and plot lines.
I haven't gotten into it, but I don't expect it to be much better than the anime. It has its looks, and probably isn't as odd as the anime, but its not a priority.
Episode 12 was the one before the last one, minus the OVA. It could be that the manga is better, although again, I don't really expect much from it.
Owari no Seraph suffers from having one of the worst beginnings ever because they absolutely had to shoehorn high school shenanigans before the plot began. It gets far more bearable (but still bad) after the MC enters the demon squad or whatever it was called.
Kinda hard to choose between Eromanga Sensei and Oreimo, basically the same show. Does School Days still countt, or is it beating a dead horse at this point?
t. Kevin buttmad because Takuma chose Odin in the end
Take it back you cunt.
The original series is insanely popular in my country, and we got this shitty sequel that is even worse than the early episodes of Dragon Ball Super
Kabaneri wasn't just trash, it was a travesty. It had such a wonderous premise and aesthetic in a time of increasingly generic samefaggotry on all animated fronts, but said premise was wasted in the most insipid and horrendous ways modern east asian island dwelling man could think of.
I can still remember /a/'s futile attempts at figuring out the mechanics and powerlevels behind the various pieces of steampunk weaponry in the first few episodes, only to have it all thrown out the window with unicycles or some shit once the pink haired villain showed up:
Kabaneri, Guilty Crown and SAO are the unholy trinity of wasted potential.
Congratulations, your taste is trash.
If true there's just more good shit for me to watch, both of those shows are decent. You want horribad go watch the shitshow that is Gundam Wing the plot and characters are pure retarded fuckery.
You must be an interesting, mature and unique individual and i'm sure that your father will love you some day
I'm still mad about that one. The first episodes are really good then it starts to turn into villain and asspull of the week (so you start to cringe... then it start to seriously overstay it's welcome) but then it turns into perfectly fine space opera building to a great ending nicely tying up the all the arcs. The main story arc, the villain arc, the Slaine arc, the impossible romance arc... it's really neat and well written (for once).
So you're kind of hyped for the next part, because part of it were definitively weak, but it still had some really good parts and it ended on a really high note.
Now because I'm an /a/utist veteran I knew intrinsically that we can't have nice things, so I knew that the second part was gonna be shit.
But fuck I still had hope it wouldn't be a complete garbage fire.
Then the other half started...
I mean it has an evil twin arc in it FFS!
YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.
Genesis was my favorite anime before Evol was released. The worst part is that a scene that previously made no sense in Genesis shows that Evol wasn't a retcon, they planned that shit from the beginning. You can't even enjoy it in it's own right.
Apollo is the reincarnation of Apollonius' dog
Apollonius' relationship with Celiane was a ruse to avoid his is gay ex-lover
Touma doesn't hate humanity for destroying the Earth, he hates them fro taking his gay lover away
At least the OST will always be good.
As much as School Days could get unlikable, considering the fate of the MC, which was warranted, and I think I cheered, it made you dislike characters as much, if not more than liking them. Dislike it, and add it to the thread if anyone feels it truly deserves it.
Nice boat though.
Man, i love RWBY, makes my heart warm, its complete shit compared to real anime, but is fucking awsome amauter shit.
First season made me think i've found a true gem, then second season happened.
I dropped NTR about 5 minutes or so into the first episode. Complete and total garbage.
Best trash I've watched all the way through recently? Dies Iraes. That shit was hilarious.
Kuzu no honkai
Fate/stay night (the original)
Hyouka with the exception of a few episodes
>watches show called NTR
>gets surprised when it turns out to be garbage
Did you really have to actually watch it to know?
I wanted to give it a chance since /a/ was in a tizzy over it and half of Twitter seemed to be in love with it. Cheating doesn't sit well with me, so yeah. Dropped despite trying to give it a chance.
I think I watched the first episode of it then ignored it for the rest of the time it was airing because my flatmate liked it and he tends to love generic mainstream shit anime like SAO and etc.
I surprised no one else dropped it when the loli managed to completely fail to effect the plot, yet upstage the MC at every scene. In the first few episodes her scenes do nothing to advance the plot, and might as well be a figment of someone's imagination.
Hyouka was actually one of the few good slices of life I've watched.
SHomin Sample is an ecchi harem like any other, don't know why it "surprised" you? (negatively)
Toradora is a "classic", in the sense that it was a mark of an epoch (along with Haruhi, Lucky Star, To Love-Ru, etc) and defined anime for the next years followed.
Nothing to say about the rest, they're crap.
He's not wrong, even the smug brooding loli couldn't save this show
I look up the show every time I see her smug mug, decide not to watch it and then forget about it afterwards. I had to look up the show again when it was first mentioned in this thread. Maybe I'll watch it some day, just for her.

>got better in season 3
Only if you're taking Tumblr and RoosterTeeth cockgarglers' opinions as law. The only things that made RWBY worthwhile were the combat choreography and the music. Once Monty Oum died and they got rid of Shane Newville to make their pipeline more 'industry standard', they were trying to fill 10+ years of autistic directoral and aesthetic experience with fresh-off-the-boat art school grads. The weird thing is that it keeps getting worse. We keep track of the nightmare over on /rwby/ and somehow they manage to reach new lows in every. single. episode. I think the animators know how bad it is so their turnover rate is ridiculous.
When people say 'it got better', what they mean is 'they improved their graphical power to compensate for the complete loss of the core material'. The musical quality fell apart, too, because Monty coordinated with the composer and the composer was inspired by Monty's work when he explained the combat as a musical tempo, over which their work harmonized. Now it's generic and uninspired.
Season 3 did have some good fights choreography-wise, which were the last efforts of Shane Newville and I think his protege, Dillon Goo. Also, with Monty gone and their marketing having attached itself to the Tumblr crowd, the show is now an implicitly feminist LGBT-friendly safe space, and the simmering racial conflict has gone full #BlackLivesMatter in scale of unwarranted vengeance-seeking, worked in in the most obviously ad hoc artificial ways.
I've been of half a mind to create a video tearing down everything wrong with it for a while now.
Embed is one of Shane Newville's non-RWBY animations, proving that the show could have continued on in only slightly diminished capacity without Monty if RT weren't the shekel-grubbing controlfreaks they are.
pic related is objectively worse
Low hanging fruit, but you are not wrong.
I never got around to paying any attention to it after i read the premise for it the first time.
It was just boring more than anything. And everyone sucked.
Not really a lot to say about it other than Nip Stu the magic otaku cant do anything wrong ever. It tries to take itself super serious and blows all the potential for that to work out its ass by being a ridiculous power fantasy.
Never heard of it but the synopses sounds like something i would never watch.
Yea it was super disappointing.
I've never been able to finish any of them, not even the VN which I usually have more patience for.
Its shit, but its the kind of shitty show that I love and watch every year in December for the christmas episode.
What the fuck is this faggot shit.
I hate just about everything from Yasuhiro Takemoto and this is no exception.
One of my friends absolutely loved that show, and I have no idea why. I couldnt stand it. (He also loved Hyouka, so i am willing to write him off as one with shit taste mostly).
>What is with these garbage glorifying the otaku lifestyle?
Because otaku are their intended audience.
No it gets worse, they sideline Shinoa so they can pander to fujos harder

It was trash, but at least it gave us this:
Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm
Wanted to try a genre that I usually skip. Can't believe I kept watching till the end.
Was waiting for the MC girl to tell the main antagonist bitch to fuck off. built up to it and everything, but then at the end They become best friends
I wholeheartedly enjoyed that show.
I really liked some of the openings for that one, but besides that, it was just excessive fan-service without real substance. Musou Kakyou, on the other hand, was a proper attempt at a Touhou doujin anime. Too bad it'll never get an ending.
I appreciate the warnings but I'll give it a try anyways. Might as well get Trinity Blood too, while in the mood for fujobait vampires.
It was the definition of mediocre. Hardly the kind of trash that deserves to be in this thread.
Way back I watched all of Kitty Grade because all I heard was that it gets better. It only got worse.
No, fuck off.
Not only was a summer day dream butt ugly it also tried to shove in shitty memes whenever it could and just go with whatever crappy fan characterization was popular then.
Fantasy Kaleidoscope at least tried to be as close to canon as possible and showed off the events that actually happened in a somewhat plausible way.
Not to mention that a summer days dream dared to tarnish touhou characters with crappy voice acting while Fantasy Kaleidoscope did the right thing and just omitted voices completly
I have to agree with you. After giving it some thought, it really is the wrong kind of trash. Think I just didn't keep my expectations in check.
Looks like that is just not my cup of tea then.
I've seen a lot of similar VN adaptations and I hated Four Rhytm, dropped it 4 episodes in, so there definitely was something there
Brain Powerd/Powered. Got a lot of hype for having Tomino and Kanno on board for direction and music. Turned out a big mess.
The op was the only good thing about this pile of garbage.
Going on a tangent here, Gamble Fish is probably the cringiest, trashiest manga I've ever read, yet for some reason I was compelled to finish it. It's basically Kaiji if it were a softcore porno and starring the rich guy from Danganronpa.
>full of bbc on white women action
Another. Definitely Another. It was nonsensical until the end, boring and bland. The mysteries were random shit and remained unsolved at the end.
Your favorite anime OP.
But in all seriousness, probably Colour Wars. So absolutely fucking shit, but by god the threads were hilarious
Purple = Yellow > Green > Blue > Shit > Red by the way.
I actually get angry when an OP loli arrives. It just ruins an anime in the most infuriating way.
Hellsing (not ultimate)
Bleach past the first season
The first ep of Code Gayass
Utena Tenjou's anime
>not playing 007 VNs first
Kazuma is an old character. His archetype is so familiar that you'll swear that you've seen him a hundred times before.
I bought all of Zun's games but never touched the fan stuff. The anime looks really really good though, i need to try it.
Also, is pic related bad? I see it treated poorly and I don't remember much of it myself since it was so long ago. Being a Edo-weeb I can't help but be drawn by muh Shinto but I don't remember anything at all about it except that there's a wolf yasha fighting yokai.
I read through that shitheap too. I was pulled in by the "learn tricks about gambling" part of the description but then it almost immediately goes into "Cut off your arm to mark cards so the dealer can't cheat" and "use a supercomputer hooked up to a camera and pair of glasses to read the backs of an unused card deck".
I almost recommend reading it because of how retarded it gets.
It's about a modern girl who falls into a well and ends up in the past fighting demons with others. They then go inbetween modern and ancient japan and there's romance and other stuff. It is one of the most popular series Rumiko Takahashi made. Inuyasha is okay but it drags on and the finale to the series they made later on isn't very good.
Being completely retarded is an appeal of it's own, so long as it stays fresh and keeps reaching new heights of insanity. The issue is with stuff like Gantz, where it gets dull and stops introducing new elements. There's plenty of stuff out there where it's painfully clear the creator only had a few concepts to work with, and anything after they show off the big thing they pitched to get serialized is just a drag.
>Hellsing (not ultimate)
I find I like not ultimate more than Ultimate.
Can I ask why? Is it because it became what it was mocking?
Yeah, but it's possible I have shit taste, anyway. Not that it matters, I've just learned that I'll enjoy what I enjoy although it is always fun to see when people disagree and screech here.
Anon, you need to treat it as a comedy. Every now and then, I rewatch the first episode on youtube and get a good laugh at how over the top the gore in it is.
She looks so powerful, deep, large, and beautiful. Is this the animation team's specialty, or is it something the author himself likes to depict, in general?
It's very episodic and goes on for ever. This could be a good or bad thing, depending on your opinion. At the very least, I don't recall it having any long annoying parts. I don't think there was a "tournament arc" or stuff like that. I also liked that the main characters are much more openly in love than 90% of similar shows. Sure, they were both kinda tsundere but it was pretty damn clear to everyone that they were in love.
I really loved it as a kid but at the same time I feel no desire to go back and re-watch it.
Houseki No Kuni was spectacularly rubbish, and CG shit to boot too, but goddamn those round little butts were just so hypnotizing
Oh boy, seems like that anon above found a very trending current way to get (you)s. To bad he isn't getting one from me.
It was an anime about giant robots playing basketball. And for several episodes it was actually pretty great, too.
Then it became a show about god damned idols. All those characters you've watched grow and come to like and appreciate? NOPE, GET THOSE FUCKERS OUT OF THE WAY ITS TIME FOR IDOLS.
The main character is trying to raise enough money to send his crippled little sister to highly advanced city on the moon so that she can walk againNOPE IDOLS ARE GOING TO SAVE THE WORLD AND HE NEEDS TO HELP THEM DO THAT WITH THEIR MUSIC. Other people take his little sister to the moon so he can focus on HELPING THE IDOLS.
The big-tittied childhood friend who set the entire story in motion by getting him inside a giant roboFUCK YOU BITCH ITS TIME FOR IDOLS
It's a real shame how that show dropped the ball. The director changed a few episodes in and it went to hell right afterwards.
That sounds absolutely terrible. Did the basketball part at least get a good resolution?
Kintoki was annoying as fuck, and the final boss they built up to had a terrible design and was beaten without much of a struggle. The ending felt so unresolved that I remember naively checking for the next one. Complete and irredeemable trash.
Thank God that Vanishing Line is better.
She's going to get her belly filled with rice whether she likes it or not.
The entire premise of this series was cheap fanservice, and even that fell flat on it's face soon enough.
I thought it was fun with all the wacky characters and the keikaku dooris. The biggest detriment to the whole thing is the beta self-insert, there's absolutely no reason for him to be there.
I enjoyed gamble fish for its retardation, but felt that it's ending was pretty godawful.
It's hard to pick out a really, objectively trash anime out of everything I've watched lately. There's the fapbait shows that you can expect to be pretty transparent, and there's like the aforementioned Kabaneri that really was just a disappointment.
Occultic Nine might have been even more of one, if only because I was genuinely excited in the middle, after powering through some super-boring first episodes. I came to Kinznaiver and stuck with it because of trigger, but that was mostly a bore, too.
I guess the shittiest thing I've seen recently is the black clover adaptation, if only because Asta is the most annoying thing I've ever listen to. I could not last past four episodes.
>Kabaneri that really was just a disappointment.
My biggest problem with it is people not even being disappointed in it for the right reasons. It makes me realize how shit everyone's taste is.
I actually walked away from this early, only to come back when I heard the recap was good. Then it got so awful I regret powering through the rest of it.
The teenage angst and melodrama made me drop this shit. Should've expected this from Okada though. At least the opening is pretty good.
Fun fact: the guy who sang the song in that OP died of cancer like 3 months after the show ended.
That fact isn't fun at all
Final Fantasy Unlimited, what the fuck was this? Almost every episode ended with that captain harlock ripoff using his gun to kill the enemy of the week
>the trashiest, most garbage anime you've watched
This anime was so bad I quit anime altogether for two years.
And after 800+ completed anime titles, FLCL still ranks my most shit of all time. I have finished it on the basis f being a meme of some sort, but never understood the appeal. Any other anime has at least something of value, FLCL just tries to eat at your soul and fails even at that. No plot worthy of note. No consistency. No relatable heroes(even comared to word clip assistant). The animation itself is bad enough to be bad and not bad enough to be too bad, showing wasted animators time. This anime is my main argument why two nukes were not enough. I am insulted this became a thing and gained any traction whats so fucking ever and made me really dissapointed in the human race as a whole. Few animes have ever made me as butthurt as FLCL. The most insulting feature is its consistency in how mediocre bad it is, one can't even compare it to the Room, not to mention absence of any charm in any caracters. The scenes are badly drawn and jumpy while trying to give the good old anime induced epileptic fit but failing even at that. FLCL is forever in my mind since no anime can beat it in absolue trashyness. When I see another bad and even apalling anime I always remember "at lest it's not as shit as FLCL", i.e. at least there was this ONE scene that was kind of OK. Not FLCL though, nothing about it was OK. Even the most 1/10 have some redeeming qualities, but this anime has not. I want to travel back in time and erase this abomination from existance disregarding the possible timeline changes.
I would second this if I had finished it.
No need to be ashamed. I had taken actual anti-vomit pills to plough through the las episodes.
Must've metastasized from the anime
>The teenage angst and melodrama made me drop this shit
>I dropped Romeo and Juliet because of all the romance shit
>I dropped Lord of the Rings since it had too much fantasy shit
You filthy alpaca. Drama is the point of Kiznaiver. Do you go into a bakery and then cry about the smell of fresh muffins?
Kiznaiver was such a fucking joke. I remember all the promotional material hyping it up as being this shocking amazing experience trigger saves anime again, which only made it more infuriating when you realize the show was conceived as:
>hey I have a cool idea
>what if you had a bunch of guys and they could feel each other's pain
<cool but what's the plot about
>I dunno fucking feelings or some shit
Almost nothing in the plot made sense, the characters were shallow, and they did absolutely nothing with the premise other than a generic love pentagram couched in some vague message about empathy that was summed up better in one scene of a shounen.
>What's the trashiest anime you've watched
Ano natsu something or other matteru.
<Basic bitch trash.
Endless Eight Arc
Super radical gag family
<had its moments but it was trash
Butt punisher girl gautaman
Maria the Virgin Witch
<humans were the most interesting
My little sister can't be this cute
<worst girl won
<not awful but I got super angry the first time I watched it, one of my first harems and the cocktease pissed me off
Tits? I'm guessing it was tits. There were quite a few titmonsters and even the loli had huge tits.
I came to see if anyone named Dragonauts, but I'll toss in Sekirei as a close second. They're very similar in important ways, like having faggot loser protagonists and weird slavery themes.
Also, Mawaru Penguindrum.
The memes were ok, watching it with /a/ was great, but the show is still kinda crap.
Shame, production quality was pretty good, etc.
But I have no real "true" patience for bullshit like that.
Without the memes and whatnot I wouldn't have made it through it and I have not rewatched it since.
My problem is the "drama" in Kiznaiver is shit and pretty much what >>782084 says.
They have an interesting concept but waste it on shitty teenage love triangles and overreactions about trivial garbage. The show makes such a big deal over childhood friend being asshurt for getting shafted.
There is this love triangle story in a manga with conjoined twins who both are in love with their doctor, with the older twin secretly so.
Older twin enjoys wearing fancy clothes and pretty high heels but because she grew taller, wears shitty sneakers and gives her sister all her heels so that little sister can walk comfortably. Older sister makes sacrifice while little sister gets to wear pretty shoes and flirt with doctor. I find love triangles boring but this at least has interesting shit going on.
Also, this story is only eight pages long but with Kiznaiver you get episodes of "I'm mad because this girl I inexplicably like is sad because she likes you but you don't like her".
Or "she's sad and that makes me hurt too". Having characters punch and scream over childish shit isn't enjoyable.
Go back to /tv/ "patrician"
Secondly I get arguments that the plot was thin but the animation was stellar. If you think otherwise you're objectively wrong.
I guess you must be eagerly awaiting the second season.
>single frame represents animation
Please end yourself. And no I don't wan't a Room anime because I'm not a /tv/ mouthbreather obsessed with shit memes.
I'll admit i didn't drop it at first sight, in the beginning it was a somewhat proper adaptation and the OP and ED were pure awesome
But then the slow pace got MUCH slower, some characters changed too much and the last arc, while having a few good moments, was complete shit.
Note that I'm not even talking about the stupid ending, that was the last nail in the coffin. I'm surprised they conviced people to make Gantz:O after that.
Lingerie senshi papillon rose
Watch this shit if you want to see a cat giving a blowjob or a giant fat lady with a huge bush of pubes eating a man's face
> He provides contrast with the rest of the characters.
> He has his own story.
> You cannot read the author's mind.
You can self-insert into every character ever made. All you are doing is projecting yourself to the beta, faggot.
I watched Final Fantasy Unlimited when I was a teenager. To a 14 year old boy, brooding, dark characters like kuroki Kaze and the summon sequences in the series is cool as fuck.
This piece of shit. I can't remember a thing about the animation quality, or the plot of most of the episodes. The only thing I can clearly recall is the blinding rage I had by the end, cheering for the guy to just up and leave all those assholes in the magical world behind to be ground to dust, only for him to turn his damn plane around to save them. I wanted him to strafe them to bloody chunks. Never since have I felt more hatred to a character I was supposed to find "funny" or "cute" than I did towards Louise. Even now, my hackles rise at any tsundere character; ToraDora took me three tries to get through.
