Extreme bullying and Frieza turning girls into mahou shoujos
>Heart pupils with vaginas
How extremely lewd
That was extreme bullying indeed. The bullying is supposed to make us sympathize with Aya but its not like she wasn't cute to begin with. This and wixoss should offer all the suffering needed to fill my heart this season. Between this and magical girl raising project, which one will be the more fun blood bath of magical girls /a/?
The whole ED is lewd

Flying semen birds.
This show is... not good. I enjoy a good edgefest anyone remember the clusterfuck that was Die Ireas a couple seasons ago? but this has only two things going for it.
一つ：Frieza as the mascot
二つ：The heart eye bleeding thing is unique and I'm intrigued by finding out what it means and what each girls powers are/why they have those specifically.
I'm guessing that ... what's the MC's name? Aya? I'm guessing lady bullied-a-lot's power to make people look like they committed suicide/accidents is due to her wanting to kill herself so badly. Blonde girl's power to stop time? I can't really think of any particular trauma that would cause that besides a fanatical devotion to Coldplay
This whole show is in dropped-as-hard-as-embed-related territory from the get go
>all that bullying
Jesus, all I wanted was another show about magical girls killing each other.
Oh, cool, now we can have some scanlations because of the anime.
So after this, mahou shoujo of the end is gonna get an anime too right?
I forgot that scanlations stopped back in January back in 2017. Stuck at chapter 41 for now.
Was I the only one who found it funny that the bully girl was saying it was too far to kill the girl, after they killed a cat she knew, and was allowing a guy to rape her. You can bully a girl that she wants to kill herself but actually killing her, whoa, you're a real monster. I guess bullies have some standards.
I'd watch it solely for pic related.
Speaking of bully, is that one manga about a bullied girl plotting revenge on each of her classmates anything decent?
It is quite the power fantasy for bullied people. Apart from the first chapter, the heroine is so scheming and on top of her game I find it hard to believe that the character from the first chapter is the same as the character from later chapters. I like to think of her as bullied-batman.
This was both miserable and interesting. Seems quite good, I hope they're not going to drop the ball with this one.
Its fun and almost and entirely different person as >>811834 said. That said it would make a really entertaining anime.
There are things that you just don't say.
How Edgy are we talking here in a scale of Yuru Camp to Dungeon Seeker(Light Novel)?
This is a complete shitshow, everything is so ridiculous and unrealistic, and the people act like retards. The suffering feels more like a comedy than tragedy, reminds me of Ousama-game from 2 seasons ago.
Just shows not everyone can do suffering right. Nothing makes sense, after all that beating and how she acts how come even her mom and dad not realize anything? Kicking someone in the throat and strangling them leaves scars.
Also the whole "everyone is an evil piece of shit" thing, some writers do it where Japan is a country of psychopaths and everyone acts like a retard, really can't take anything like that seriously. How am I supposed feel bad and sympathise with these characters when it feels like an edgy comedy?
This is my main issue with this kind of show. You can't buy this many people just being completely malicious and getting away with it. It comes across as childish and edgy for the sake of being edgy.
>You can't buy this many people just being completely malicious and getting away with it
Not everyone grew up in fantasy land. When someone is constantly bullied people either look away and pretend not to see because its too much trouble to do anything about it or they take part.
So this is just Carrie? Hard to tell if it's going to be worth watching when the studio has almost no prior credits.
Almost approaching Tokyo Ghoul.
>Seems quite good
This was the last thing I expected to see in this thread
The edgyness in this show is so over the top that it becomes hilarious. I was laughing a lot as the brother was beating the shit out of his sister. I am definitely going to watch this as an unintentional comedy. The crunchyshit subs are pretty awful though.
I think it crossed into territory where the show is just that bad that it becomes entertaining for all the wrong reasons.
>how come even her mom and dad not realize anything?
I'd say they're in on it.
Remember how they always praised her brother but didn't even say a single thing to her/about her? They probably ignore her because she's a disgrace to them or something.
Can't deny it was a bit of a guilty pleasure, the anime felt like powerfantasy of my highschool years' self, which also made it uncomfortably easy to predict the route of the show.
>aya pets cat
<"oh yeah someone's gonna see this and kill cat"
>brother mentions something about "relieving stress"
<here we go
>Senpai goes to aya
<wait, rape?, really?
>Senpai confirms his rape intentions
<did i make this anime?
polite sage for the blogpost
I know I forgot to sage, shut up.
Been a while since I've read the manga but I recall genuinely liking it. As far as "and then gory shit happened" vehicles go I thought it was alright. It's definitely not just bullied porn either, it's the setup but the story is that something is deeply wrong with the source of the powers, possibly apocalypticly wrong.
Do they have Prom in japan?
I'm actually quite shocked this series got an anime. The manga is just an edgy bloodbath with no redeeming qualities.
I might check out the anime just for a laugh; based on what I've read in this thread. Hope I don't regret this.

>The manga is just an edgy bloodbath with no redeeming qualities.
Kind of like ousama game, and that turned into the greatest comedy of that season.
>Your life span gets shorter everytime you use your stick
>Because you get a nosebleed sometimes and stuff
>Another "dark" Mahou Shoujo trying to cash in on the Madoka crowd and misses the point
Fucking hell, I'm not watching another one of these. See you next week.
As someone who has read the manga I can tell you with 100% honesty that the brother is the best character the show.
I have the exact same issue but honestly I'm just watching it because I want to see edgy magical girls, not because I expect a decent story.
Absolutely, I had a deja-vu feeling while watching it, it felt like something I watched recently, and I think it's because of juuni taisen. Not because of tone, or how it looks, or the story anything like that, but just because of how stupid everything was.
As I'm glad to finally see an anime with which I can identify and that's why I'm very surprised that several of those who comment on these animes label them as Edgy as if it were a fashion class or try to hide or hide the reality.
Many of those who comment may be people who have never had experiences like those shown in the anime, but for another group of us these experiences were the bread and butter of each day.
I'm sure there's other people that were bullied here but it's pretty much impossible to relate when it's this ridiculous. This girl is freaking tortured, not bullied.
>Beaten everyday at school, drenched in water
>Made to sit on glue and pick out razors from shoe, nobody ever cares. She doesn't even care to clean insults from her desk anymore
>Only thing that likes her gets murdered by psychopaths, she contemplates suicide everyday
>Family ignores her, brother beats her severely every night
>Almost raped by a stranger, brother might have already done it
Just a single one of these would've been enough already honestly, she would suffer less if they only waterboarded her everyday instead.
I don't find suffering etc. edgy by itself but when your protagonist is a breathing human stress ball why should I care, this is just bad writing.
There is at absolute minimum one girl like the MC in the world right now. In Japan? Probably not, but she is somewhere. If you can't accept that then you are naive.
When something is too exaggerated it's hard to take it seriously. Her shitty life is too outlandish, it's like a reverse Mary Sue situation. I understand bullying and a shitty family life ruining people and even leading into suicide, but it's not the crazy shit this show is showing us. I agree with >>812750, I'm sure there's at least 1 person somewhere out there living this shit of a life, and since this is anime the writer can make the character's life as shit as he wants, but don't expect people to identify with it.
>More edgy magical girl shows
Is this what we have become? Id love an actual serious magical girl show for once that doesn't go full edge. Maybe some slight suffering but a more realistic look into the genre would be nice
Is that the magical girl manga where its treated like a zombie apocalypse but the zombies are magical girls?
>it felt like something I watched recently
I actually liked it quite a bit.
I like the killing and seeing the MC get abused. I guess it's been a while since I've seen an anime that shows characters get wrecked.
The neko though... that wasn't necessary.
A little over-the-top for a first episode that has me curious how the fuck they'll stretch the zetsubou over another 11. Am looking forward to seeing more of onii-chan atttempting to rape his sister.
I don't think this felt like mahouiku. I actually liked mahouiku, and it wasn't as edgy or as retarded. We're on episode 1 of this and it's already really fucking stupid and edgy.
Kinda, and that's mostly for the first part. Then it get's into time-fuckery/parallel universes bullshit.
>realistic look into the genre would be nice
Do you really want one? Magical girls are just child soldiers but with godly powers. You're better off giving the magical powers to someone that has military experience instead.
I could see that kind of plot. Like the magical girls defeated the big bad and are left with no villains to fight. Other countries get paranoid that one country has access to magical girls and it kicks off an arms race of magical girls.
That's kinda how it would go down, but if it was possible to give men magical powers they'd do that instead making cut magical girls since they have combat experience military training, failing that, military women because of the training, again not cute girls. If you really want cute girls doing magical things make up some flimsy bullshit, like youjo senki did even then it was co-ed. But realistically, you'd rather send magical men and women to their death before sending out magical childen to fight.
>But realistically, you'd rather send magical men and women to their death before sending out magical childen to fight.
On that note you could make any terrorist organizations in the story uses magical girls, since they wouldn't give a shit about morals.
Nah I can still see this kind of plot going super edgy child soldiers, government kidnapping, and experimentation on magical girls. My realistic look on the magical girl genre would be the magical girls do what they usually do be teenage girls, fight the villains but its also based around a government team whose job is to help the magical girls in the background and most importanly make sure they dont lose their innocence.
>The toughest, meanest young men in the military
>Just finished the weed-out course that culled dozens of other aspirants with broken limbs, permanent injuries, and in some cases even death
>"You boys are the chosen few to get into the most elite, secretive special forces unit in the world."
>"Now put on this frilly dress, grab a magical stick and strike a kawaii pose."
I don't think this is quite as bad as Ousama Game was. The characters at least stay in character here.
>but don't expect people to identify with it.
"Finally an anime with which I can identify myself"
>it wasn't as edgy or as retarded
Clearly you were watching another show. Mahou ikusei keikaku was edgy as FUCK. Inconsistent shifts in violence and generic battle royale CONTRATO? story made it obvious that it was appealing to the people that like edgy girls doing edgy things.
In the first episode we had extreme bullying involving needles, razors, toilets and physical violence, domestic violence by the psycho brother, cat killing, crying blood, and the time stop girl slitting the bully's throat like it was nothing personel, kid.
I don't think mahouiku's edge started this soon, and I don't think there was any episode with as much packed edge (but I could be misremembering, I liked it overall but individual events on the series were pretty forgettable).
Remember, anime girls bleed too.
>don't punch me in the stomach
>I won't be able to get my period
What did she mean by this?
She doesn't want a baby implanted inside of her.
No they don't.
No they don't.
>The neko though... that wasn't necessary.
I hate people like you, who are unaffected by the abuse of a helpless young girl in a story but nyooo~ not the kitty~
I'm glad the cat got wrecked. It served its purpose as the soulless creature it is.
Madoka Magica was a game changer in that it took Sailor Moon and Sakura and decided to be as literal and obvious as possible.
Mahou Shoujo was rarely ever 100% fluffy bunnies and panty shots, especially Moon, but common folk never actually looked into it until Madoka did to the genre what The Dark Knight did to superhero movies, so just like we had to deal with tons of edgy pseudo-philosophical horsecrap for years, so too do we have to deal with the same thing in mahou shoujo
There will come a day, perhaps only after our death, when a mahou shoujo as colorful, pretty and welcoming as an Atelier game comes to break through all of this with moe and fun, yet also quietly bearing the somber and very real consequences of such a calling.
Some day, anon. Some day...
And Blue Reflection SUCKS in the terrible level design and absurd maximum over-gay. Come on, man, why is Gust now the rug munching company? One or two, fine, but every cute girl? Like they can't just be best friends they also gonna ache in their uterus for one another? SAD
Is everyone retarded? Why does everyone act like the only magical girl animes that are being made are edgy ones? There is a new PreCure coming out every year. There is Mahou Shoujo Ore coming out this season and there was a new Cardcaptor Sakura last season.
You might have some antisocial personality traces if you don't care about animal abuse.
It's less that those are the only ones coming out, but that the gimmick is played out. There's no shock value in "magical girls but edgy" anymore since it's been done to death, and shock value is pretty much all they have.
It's isn't not caring about animal abuse, it's people who say "seeing that guy/girl get killed was super cool" but then freaking out when a dog gets killed because they care more about a random mutt in a story then a person in the story. It's just being a hypocrite.
I see the edgiest show of the season is already taking its toll on anons by making them act the part.
Here is your (You).
I'm going to be that guy. Could you really prevent a girl having her period by punching her stomach?
No since anime girls don't have periods.
Anime girls definitely have periods. The Smut manga that I read had a futanari that simultaneously got a period and a wet dream at the same time. Then she went on to fuck every character in the series, all without being a hentai.
The whole "website that you visit that goes away during the day" thing draws heavily from Hell Girl, except this time around the site finds them.
The bullying theme was used a fair bit in Hell Girl too, just not this extreme.
Not to mention the opening scene was slightly reminiscent of Shana:
>girl w/ red hair that turns black when she's in human form
>time gets stopped by a red-tinted seal
You reminded me how much I like the characters "MERY SUE" are the best, every anime should have one.
I'm saying a character that's perfect and loved by everyone for no reason is terrible, but a character with no qualities that's hated by everyone for no reason is just as bad.
On that note then, what is there that separates an "edgy" Magical Girl anime from a shounen anime? Suppose we all unofficially-yet-officially move into a post-shock world where nobody is surprised by the edginess of such Magical Girl anime as seen in Ikusei Keikaku and this one. Would this not then just be a a shounen anime that uses cute girls exclusively? I mean, the premise of Ikusei Keikaku was that the girls got powers and were meant to fight for justice but then the subversion is that justice isn't such a black and white matter. Cranberry turned the Magical Girl examination into a battle royale (without the awareness nor permission of her supervisors) because she believed that by forcing them to fight, the strongest Magical Girl, the Magical Girl most capable of fighting for justice, would arise. Haven't "edgy" shounen anime already had philosophical ramblings on the nature of justice for decades now, though?
My argument is that their shock value is long-since dead. Everybody expects the "twist" now. There is no "twist". What Madoka's done is it exposed the existence of a market: people who like seeing cute girls do edgy things.
>Haven't "edgy" shounen anime already had philosophical ramblings on the nature of justice for decades now, though?
Most likely but not everyone watches shounen anime or reads shounen manga. Stories like Mahoiku and Meguka deliver the same message using different means and that appeals to viewers with sufficient money and autism. As long as there are paying viewers, the shock value comes second regardless of how well-beaten the corpse is.
Yeah, I remember that one. I wish it had just stayed a highschool comedy and didn't go full aliens.
This is a really terrible edgefest but I will watch it ironically.
This show has edge and at some random leg shots. I will keep watching it.
>green twintails loli before credits
>expensive looking couch
>really, really wants to kill
Is this one of the idols from DOG PLAY?
If so I expect a flashback origin story with lots of yakuza rape.
So... is this part of the Mahou Shoujo of the Dead universe? or the author just hates magical girls?
And secret website.
I love when animes use Internet as part of plot like Durarara.
>So... is this part of the Mahou Shoujo of the Dead universe?
I think the author made unofficial crossover between both works.
I think they just like magical girls in dark and gory situations
The leg shots of blonde were lovely. Trying to decide between watching for that or for this hilariously bad story. Anyways, after pink lost the cicada bully potential was strong. Somewhat disappointed it was followed through. It reminded me of the uma musume thread where anons talked about putting things inside horse pussy. Also pink is worst girl for willingly giving up a flat chest and freckles.
>decide to check out the manga
>brother gets assfucked by a crazy cop
Here is the best reason to watch this show. Also, PAS has picked this up. Looking forward to enjoying this nonsense edgefest with you fellow anons.
A well deserved. For beating his sister constantly, now his ass will be beaten constantly
The show compelled me to catch up on the manga and with the way the overarching threat and nature of the "game" changes every few chapters and not knowing who is really staying dead or not it feels like the author is bullying me.
I got especially hard feels from the doggo tears.
Suffering magical girls were a thing since their inception. While Madoka had an interesting aesthetic and good characterization, It just feels like the people focusing on the suffering aspect have literally never watched a magical girl show before. Even fucking Sailor Moon was full of that kind of shit. Being edgy and adding gore into a magical girl show does not instantly make you a "Madoka clone"
Let's hope for more reaction images.
I'm sure you really care about the cows that go into making the hamburgers you eat.
Good to know you're a vegetarian.
>relieving stress by beating the shit out of his cute little sister
>not relieving stress by gently cuddling and bullying his little sister with headpats
No wonder he so high strung, this guy has no idea what he's doing.
This is probably the soundest sleep shes had in her life.
I want anime characters to be able to manifest into reality simply so that I can personally murder her oniichan. In fact, he does not even deserve to be called an oniichan, even if literally speaking he IS her brother and that makes him an oniichan, he does not derserve the honor that comes with the title of "oniichan". He deserves a cruel and painful death, nothing less.
I'm going to have a personally policy for this season, every time I watch an episode of Mahou Shoujo Site I'm going to IMMEDIATELY chase it with an episode of Alice or Alice. I'm going to need some heartbleach every week after watching this, there's no better way to do it than be watching an anime about an oniichan who displays the only proper way to treat his imoutos.
I agree, I don't know how he came to the conclusion that anger was more stress relieving than love. Anger and violence stress you out even if you're the type that enjoys that garbage, the adrenaline sours in your system shortly after and leaves you worse off. Whereas being nice to a cute girl and making her smile in a way no one else can makes you feel good for days.
In short, he deserves death for his crimes against imouto
But is it not true that the show, by being a Magical Girl show that features such elements, is riding the coattails of Madoka's success?
>Most likely but not everyone watches shounen anime or reads shounen manga.
That shouldn't matter though since the tropes of shounen anime and manga are well-known. I'm pretty sure shounen anime is literally anime's biggest and most profitable anime genre. Its tropes are almost certainly well-known. Almost everybody gets the joke of some guy screaming for an unnecessarily prolonged amount of time in an attempt to strengthen himself. I've seen these jokes made by normal people who are in no way regular viewers of Anime.
Tell me, anon. Do you like girls with sticks?
Is there a single other girl besides the two main ones that isn't dead or insane, I wonder.
Arguably the two main ones are insane too. Blue isnt insane, she just has a grudge and likes telling people what to do. Blues problem is where she bleeds from.
I would probably like a darker magical girl show where they're all variously crazy, just without the monofilament edge.
What sort of girl gets a fucking roomba as a stick? Also that seemingly random green haired girl.
The roomba can transfer stick effects to other locations but I fail to see how that would be useful for an individual person.
That ending was surprising. This show is surprisingly high effort.
The problem is that when the girls use their sticks too much they go into a coma just like me.
She is strongly setting up to be best girl.
I thought she is twisted and evil as fuck, but she is only went insane when it was justified.
Aren't you missing the part about how you get the sticks in the first place? For MC its because everything in her life bullied her minus a cat. For thighslut its because murdered parents. For xacto knife its becuase xacto knife. Blue has the magical pantsu and keeps manservants around and even used her powers to get the contact info of MC and thighslut. Blue has her own shit, likely no friends and ignored but not bullied like MC.
I'm waiting for the girl whose backstory will be rape. There's no way this isn't going to happen, we even had pregnant woman murder already, even if it was only on a flashback.
There's way too few girls to start repeating backstories already, I'm hoping hers will be >>813921 instead.
I thought that was an explosive of some sort paired with the detonator with the same mark next to it?
>You had an unfortunate life, little girl...
>Here, have a claymore mine for your troubles
These contract making entities just give less of a fuck each time.
>not strapping claymore mines to your back
It's almost like you want to be backstabbed.
Is this anime some kind of weird collab/cross media thing akin to Qualidea code?
It's not an original IP but the cheap animation combined with 3DPD endings and Kizuna AI shilling sticks out probably the studio trying to make a name for itself or some Yakuza fuckery, who knows.
I think the 3DPDEDs are pretty neat!
Actually, the whole show seems pretty interesting now that we're three episodes in. The edginess of episode one seems to have waned off drastically.
I guess everyone calling this edgy were never bullied, harrassed or treated like shit by society. This anime correctly portays the mindset and feelings this causes in a person. You're just exposing how spoiled you are and how insulated you are from what is reality for many people.
Reread the thread, I don't think anyone would disagree that bullying exists, but the degree of abuse the protag goes through borders on unbelievable, considering her life context.
Yes it portrays the mindset and feelings bullying and harassment causes in a person; No, I don't think the degree of bullying and harassment she went through is something people should look at and say "yes, this happens all the time everywhere".
I've seen people have their lives fucked by heavy bullying (both the bullied and the bullies), with guns, police being involved, medical problems being caused, shit like that, and even those cases didn't get close to the level of edge the first episode of this got. Abuse situations that I've personally seen that are similar to what was shown happen in garbage neighborhoods, garbage schools, garbage families and involve niggers or spics probably over 90% of the time. She has a normal nipponese family and is in a decent nipponese school. I know bullying in Japan is really bad, but is it "my brother punches me in the guts every day, my teacher made me sit on glue and I almost got raped by a bully" bad?
But this is anime and the author can make the bullying as bad as he wants. There probably are a few people in Japan in situations similar to Aya, that doesn't make the show any less edgy.
It's fiction, and the 1st episode does end with two of the bullies dying, the bullying ending in that has to be properly explained within that short time.
Maybe everything at once is not so common, but none of the things happening to her are exaggerated as single events. I know this because it happened around me.
If you wanna talk about Japan specifically I read about a girl who was crushed to death by an automatic gate after trying to sneak in as it was closing. The janitor saw it happen but she was late and you're not supposed to be late so he did nothing.
There was another case of a group of boys raping another boy with a metal pipe while a teacher was watching.
I just don't think it's right to compare this to Magical Girl Raising Project since that one is about a game and it's set up for pointless violence for its own sake. Bullying exists in real life and the topic needs to be brought up, discarding it as "edgy" because you can't relate to it is spitting on the issue and the people subjected to it.
Maybe you can view this as sympathy for people who can't be sadists and need magic to get back at their tormentors, but this doesn't invalidate the importance of finding ways to discuss the issue. People are killing themselves, and others, over bullying.
No, students in Japan however do often go out after their graduation ceremony.
>crazy eyed dog girl idol
I'm in love.
She's the most justified about her "crazyness" though, that is basically a grudge, because of that bitch who smashed her best friend's head like a pulp, and almost killed her too.
I'm still angry they're killing Nijimin
>but none of the things happening to her are exaggerated as single events. I know this because it happened around me.
I don't know what you mean by this. What does it mean for something to be "exaggerated as a single event"? Are you implying that it's conventionally assumed that if something bad happens once, the fact that it happened only once is proof of just how bad it really was? What does what happened around you have to do with what you've just said?
Your anecdotes of specific incidents in Japan, to me, only caught the attention of the news because of how abnormal those incidents were that is to say, if they weren't new, they wouldn't have caught the attention of the news!
>I just don't think it's right to compare this to Magical Girl Raising Project since that one is about a game and it's set up for pointless violence for its own sake.
The antagonist of the anime, Cranberry, is hosting the Battle Royale so that the winner will be the strongest and thus, the most useful in the fight for Justice. Justice is used to justify the gratuitous violence. Mahou Shoujo Site is an anime where a character, after experiencing a lot of suffering, will inflict a lot of violence upon her enemies. Justice is used to justify the gratuitous violence.
>Bullying exists in real life and the topic needs to be brought up
...Is Mahou Shoujo Site a respectable depiction of bullying? While the anime most certainly brings attention to the topic, is the generated attention helpful to the cause?
>Cranberry, is hosting the Battle Royale so that the winner will be the strongest and thus, the most useful in the fight for Justice.
I don't remember that. I thought her and Fav were just edgelords.
What's not edgy in impaling a helpless little girl when she didn't transform, and didn't even know for a while what the shit is happening?
God, I so hate these kind of series, but I kind of love to hate them.
>Cranberry, is hosting the Battle Royale so that the winner will be the strongest and thus, the most useful in the fight for Justice
There was"justice" in that? Wasn't it just because Cranberry wanted to find someone stronger? Regardless, MSSite could be really entertaining in an episodic form like Hell Girl. Bullied girl of the week gets to exact revenge with her stick until she uses up her life and dies. The difference is the delightful tomato squishing sfx, blood splattering and screaming.
It is true but those shows also forget that Madoka is not pure suffering.
The black uniforms in this show are cute but ultimately it doesn't mean much.

>I don't remember that. I thought her and Fav were just edgelords.
>There was"justice" in that? Wasn't it just because Cranberry wanted to find someone stronger?
I just checked and it's just as I thought: Episode 6, 7:45. There's a dual agenda of a need for genuinely strong heroes and an interest in both spectating and engaging in better combat.
>What's not edgy in impaling a helpless little girl when she didn't transform, and didn't even know for a while what the shit is happening?
I believe you're talking about the gothic lolita Magical Girl, "Hardgore Alice". The one that fought with the western-cowgirl Magical Girl "Calamity Mary" and didn't die because her power is that she can't die. Alice had to be hunted down when she was untransformed because it's the only way to eliminate her. It's the only time she's vulnerable so when the opportunity came to ambush her instead, they took it. I don't see anything "edgy" about planning a sneak attack but nonetheless, your post seems to imply that I'm defending Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku as not being an edgy show. That's a bit odd. I don't think I implied that anywhere. There was the one comment I made that the violence in the show is done for the sake of justice but I only made that point for the sake of the greater point that Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku and Mahou Shoujo Site are in fact, similarly edgy shows that do deserve to be compared to one another.
I'm not familiar with Hell Girl. I guess I'll add it to the backlog.
But surely the suffering in Madoka was specifically what made it stand out to the masses?
To be fair, I think I should add that it seems to me that the Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku anime only makes brief mention of Cranberry's reason for hosting the Battle Royale. I actually did go on to read the LNs so naturally, I'm a bit more informed.
The cutest and best girl. Her death could only happen the way it did.
>read the LNs
How did the anime do in sales? Is there an even remote chance of the other LNs being adapted?
What about in the end when Fav is trying to bullshit the girls and Snow White reads his thoughts? Wasn't he thinking about how he tricked them into fighting each other?
Isn't that anime about MMA lolis?
I don't recall the anime doing too well in sales, honestly. I don't recall it doing poorly either, though. With regards to the likelihood of further LN adaptations, I do remember discussion about how Restart would be done. The conclusion is that in order for a Restart adaptation to actualy be good, 12 episodes just wouldn't be enough. Restart sits quite heavily in the "Mystery" genre with regards to its plot and pacing. I don't think Restart would do very well at all without the full-set of 24 episodes.
We also discussed the likelihood of LN translations. Apparently, the LNs are owned by "Yen Press" who are notorious for delivering butchered translations. Then of course, there was the drama regarding the accuracy of the fan-translations delivered by, may Allah forgive me for uttering this name, TL-kun. (Some actually attempted to defend him, arguing that the accuracy of his translation was irrelevant if we all enjoyed it, even if the translation veered from "poor" and straight off the cliff into fanfiction)
In any case, as I don't see how an unbutchered Restart could fit into 12 episodes and as the anime had mediocre sales if I recall correctly, I see no hope of further adaptations. It's a shame really because I thought JOKERS was a masterpiece.
I just rewatched the final episode. Fav explains that them fighting each other for their examination was unnecessary and different from how the tests are usually done. This doesn't undermine the fact that they were seeking the strongest Magical Girls and wanted to design a test where it was the strongest that would rise highest, not the kindest.
>even if the translation veered from "poor" and straight off the cliff into fanfiction
Did it though? I've heard this alleged but what examples are there of this?
Not really. The 2 main characters in it are not lolis, and even the (much taller and bonier than ever) lolis all develop adult modes now for fighting.
Long story short, it's crap.
From my memory, the majority of his distortion and where one realises that this "translator" is taking considerable liberties with the translation is with the third arc, Limited.
In TL-kun's translation, 7753 is portrayed as a blundering, nervous wreck. Her actual personality ends up being closer to that of a workaholic. These two interpretations are irreconcilable. It's literally two different characters.
In TL-kun's translation, Pukin kills members of Tot Pop's group because he felt slighted by what was merely a casual comment. Pukin's eagerness to resolve the issue with blood comes from a mixture of bloodlust and egomania. In the actual LN however, that member of Tot Pop's group behaved in a disrespectful, rude manner towards Pukin and was unprovoked in doing so. Pukin still punished the member with death which is still an overreaction but nonetheless, Pukin was not the instigator. Unlike the bloodlustful madman that TL-kun portrays, spilling blood over the smallest slight, Pukin was capable of being reasoned with, spilling blood when something goes against his code.
In TL-kun's translation, when Pukin and Sonia are at the restaurant, they just eat. In the actual LN however, Pukin tells Sonia not to rush with eating the food because the food isn't going to get away however, they're eating sushi off of a conveyor belt so when the food literally gets away, Pukin makes a comment like "Ah! Nevermind. The food really is getting away!". There's a lot of cute moments between Pukin and Sonia which are just outright cut out from TL-kun's translation so you don't get the idea of their relationship that you should.
I believe there's stuff regarding the order of events in Limited that also gets ruined. Something regarding the fights and the order they occur. I just recall people saying that the fights didn't really make sense until they found out what actually happens in the actual novels. I think a few were entirely made-up.
From my memory, the accuracy of Unmarked was alright, Restart however also needed to be redone. The JOKERS translation also needs to basically be redone from the ground-up. (Oh yeah, that reminds me: the JOKERS that I read wasn't the actual JOKERS. It was just his fanfiction. The premise, at least, is undistorted so it should still be interesting).
I just remembered some other details:
The Unmarked translation was okay but it was only okay in the portions that the anime covered. When the LN veers off of what the anime covered, the quality again, takes a hit.
There was another detail regarding Pukin. When Pukin loses his sanity near the end of the arc, TL-kun's translation portrays Pukin's instability as being due to him being on what appears to be the losing side. The loss of Sonia was painful because it was the loss of someone really useful. In the actual LN however, the death of Sonia hit Pukin really hard. It's Pukin's sincere grief over the loss of Sonia that makes him so unstable.
I only remember Limited the best because that arc was the most popular, was the first to get corrected and it was when people realised the severity of TL-kun's distortion. I know Restart needed a full re-do and I know it was suspected that JOKERS was probably in need of a full re-do. But that's all I can say. If you want to, you're free to check whatever site offers /a/rchives for around late February or early March back in 2017.
Call me retarded but i can't find scans that go past magical boy's death, anyone have a link, preferably a download?
I found a post on how well Ikusei Keikaku sold:
It sold more than 1.6k copies (12 copies more, to be precise). I don't really follow anime sales so I don't know how good that is but apparently, breaking the 1.6k mark is a great thing to achieve. So yeah, while it didn't excel as greatly as the yaoi stuff from that season, it seems that it did do well.
Going through the archives, I was able to find a link to the RAWs for Restart:
The poster that posted it claimed it was very easy to find on Google. Maybe with this link, you'll have an easier time finding the rest? Best of luck to you. I look forward to a redo of JOKERS. For the time being though, a Restart redo would be great. According to the poster in the thread I pulled this link from, TL-kun was making errors with his Restart translation on almost every page. I never checked up on his redo though or if that redo is even done. Either I learn moon and read the books myself or another translator picks them up.
Thank you, but i was talking about scans for mahou shoujo site, not mahoiku, there's a magical boy in both series except site's is a crossdresser faggot who has to hurt himself to heal others, and none of the usual sites for manga has scans that go past his death.
I've already read all of mahoiku, both the fanfic version and the retranslated one, shame that even the author let the series die.
Is the retranslated version good? As in, accurate to the source? It's been almost a year now.
Also, did the series get an actual finale or did the author just drop it?
Of course it is, be warned though, it has a lot more pages than fanfic-kun's version, limited and restart almost doubled in size.
And the novel.
Almost every single character in the series changed too, or more like they're finally themselves, what's-her-name the redhead girl who uses a rapier and owns a hobo loli isn't just a crazy murderous bitch who can't be reasoned with, the shufflins aren't just mindless mass produced drones, the girl whose hair is heart shaped went from being a total pushover with no personality to a workaholic cautious lesbian etc, tempest's edgyness finally seems justified (she suffers from PTSD and has been stealthily brainwashed by her only "friend"), it's almost like reading a new series entirely, thank dog that TL faggot didn't touch the last book and the sidestories at all, not sure if the series is truly dead or not but the author hasn't published a new book since december 2016 even though he promised we would have another around july 2017, apparently he dropped it to focus on breakdown (which flopped and ended recently at 12 chapters) and F2P (it's shit, too edgy even for this series and the one doing most of the killing isn't even a girl, it's la boipucelle 2.0 but evil), plus the only illustrator got taken away from him to work on another series so i doubt we're actually getting a book this year, i really hope asari endou gets his shit together soon because i love mahoiku and i don't want the series to die incomplete like black bullet.
Can you post the link? I'll give Restart a re-read.
The weak should thank the strong.
Why did she grow a fang mid-season?
A yoyo that cuts through possibly anything is not very fun. Well its more important how neck girl uses it anyways. It was a surprise to see blonde keeps her family's murderer just sitting around in perpetual torture but other options are not as fun as this one so I like it.
The Tempest looks like a bunch of semen going into an egg.
Something tells me this smile isn't going to be protected.
After every episode I feel disattached and think I'll just drop this, then there's this feeling sneaking up on me and next week I'm still watching.
Why didn't she say thank you?
She had no problem thanking Yatsumura earlier in the show, so it's not like she was incapable of it.
She is a shy quiet perpetually nervous girl. Imagine punished Kaosu. It wasn't until she was about to die did she start talking to blonde. The real reason is for plot.
Do we know what are those symbols on those boxes? Or what are those boxes to begin with? I'm not sure if this is just a traditional Japanese family shrine I'm not familiar with, or something else entirely.
Maybe it has to do something with how she is now being sponspred by the city of Pula?
The brother is really growing on me, Frieza should recruit him as a magical girl too.
>le soulless creature, hurr hurr
If animals don't have souls, then there is no reason to believe that people have souls. Suck my dick, Descartes.
>it's just being a hypocrite
No, retard. It's the same reason why children being killed is more fucked up than adults being killed. Animals are inherently innocent, they can't make moral decisions. So when someone tortures or abuses an animal, it's abusing a totally defenseless creature, unlike human beings who can make moral decisions and can thus be judged. Abusing animals is objectively worse than abusing people.
>then there's this feeling sneaking up on me
This whole episode had so many death flags I was actually really engaged by it and on edge waiting for Yellow to die. But then she didn't and that was unexpected, but I like that we found out about her family's murder and how she's got the guy strung up. Did anyone else see that that dude has a weird cup thing? Probably to collect his urine or something? Or... Or could it be something lewd?
Its probably urine and feces. Blonde wouldn't want to clean that stuff off the floor.
>Abusing animals is objectively worse than abusing people.
I fucking hate pseudo "good people" normalfags in my 8chan. I thought we left this kind of people on 9fag.
I'd rather say that abusing an animal is on the same level as abusing an innocent, well actually it's an animal he so it isn't as bad, and to be clear killing an animal for food and/or pest control is not abuse.
Otherwise yes, torturing an animal, is a sign that who ever did it is a piece of shit.
Y'all niggers seem to be forgetting that in this case the animal abuse was just means to abuse Aya. So if you say that it's good that the cat got rekt, you are kinda implying that it's good that a little girl saw the only thing that loves her gets killed. Don't try to use "care more about people than animals" as an argument here, as the fictional person clearly got very hurt from this.
>saves raging bitch bully that killed her cat and tried to get her raped
I really hate the "saving bad people/your enemies makes you a good person", shit is taken right out of Trudaue philosophy on war or some shit. It doesn't make you good or kindhearted or any other shit other than retarded.
Ackshually, pics related.
There are times to take the higher ground. It's a matter of picking and choosing your battles though. Someone who might have just gotten off on the wrong foot is a potential ally/friend later. Someone who vehemently hates your guts like that bully do not fall under this of course.
>I really hate the "saving bad people/your enemies makes you a good person"
You're not the only one, I feel like less and less protags do this, I feel like I've even seen a couple moralizing fuckers just let their enemies die.
I do think there's some virtue to it though, but not in every single situation. This specific situation is one where saving the enemy is pretty fucking stupid. It fits with Aya's character though because she dumb.
What a nice and caring brother.

It's good to see that they changed the intro a wee bit, I guess they will do it for every 4 episodes. It seems to be rather rare nowadays, and I like this shit.
Like Best Dad from MiA, he's best bro! He even said he'd be sad if she didn't come home. I hope Nijimi rapes him.
Probably they will join forces to make her imouto life more miserable
That wasn't queen bitch's doing it was all the idea of the bitch that got hit by the train.
It's intentionally funny. Read the manga. It's just fap material and has dark comedy.
What, so they're fucking up by playing it straight?
I love how edgy they try to make it. Have not seen something like this since Elfen Lied
>playing it straight
You clearly do understand the meta-plot here. It's a deconstruction of the Madoka genre.
I love deconstructions of subversions done with a different tone from their base material.
When I watch shows I always think about how situations could have been avoided, and in this show's case they'd be in a much better situation if instead of withholding information from Nijimin they just explained to her about the tempest, and they would also have one less thing to worry about if Yatsumura just killed Sarina.
The first one in particularly bothers me a lot, I hate when shit happens because characters just don't talk to each other.
To be fair Nijimi didn’t give the impression of being particularly rational, so from their pov it made sense not to bother explaining the situation to her. They could have tried to convince her of the need to temporarily stave of her revenge, but there’s a chance she might not have given a damn. In which case they would be forced to make a foe of an incredibly powerful magical girl. Better to just write her off and look for someone else instead.
Not him, but Nijimin definitely has all rights to kill that bitch, not to mention she didn't seem to have any actual information of value anyways.
And even if they decided they don't want to tell it to Nijimin, protecthing that bitch was just not worth it.
On an unrelated note, Aya is such a lovely girl I feel so bad about her being stuck in a series like this.
I get their reasoning but I still think talking with Nijimin would have been a better option.
Hell, they could have even promised to help her move Rina out of the hospital after getting the information they needed, so Nijimin could do whatever she wanted. And if conversation failed they could stop time and steal her pantsu. Withholding information was the worst course of action, doing that just made Nijimin hate them.
>they could stop time and steal her pantsu
Yes. In a later chapter a twink Japanese kid almost gets raped by a literal gay nigger, it's not supposed to be taken seriously.
See above chapter and tell me you are supposed to take this seriously.
The anime should have just played it comedically and it would have fit the manga's tone a lot better. For the most part the manga is comedic and there are a few "serious" parts but for the most part I've laughed while reading it.
>for the most part I've laughed while reading it
Have you ever been diagnosed either as an autist or a psychopath?
His face was pricelessly hilarious. That seemed like a pointless villain chapter just to introduce the new face at the end.
I don't see why they didn't change the girl's appearance with the camera and then ask Nijimi.
They spent an hour or so talking with the new antagonist before they even bothered to try to kill her, so I'm guessing that they're just not that smart.
>using your stick to kill someone in a coma
Sure, shorten your life some more why don't you?
And she was doing such a nice job standing up for herself, too. Too bad they had to sour it with that.
>Aya is such a lovely girl I feel so bad about her being stuck in a series like this.
I agree: She is a lovely girl.
I want to steal her and do kinky things to her in the bedroom because - let's face it - she was born to suffer.
Did you even see the chapter I posted? How the fuck could you not think that panel with a gay nigger's dick in full view is not supposed to be played as funny? Especially with the facial expressions? And I'm the autist?
There are people in this thread RIGHT NOW, who think the bullying in this show is over the top and not realistic.
Inviting an ex-con-looking guy to rape a little girl is a bit over the top.
That's how they straighten up lesbians and purple haired SJWs in third world shitholes like brazil and mexico bruh, most of the time the dad is the one who hires the fresh-outta-prison thug nigger to rape his spoiled bitch of a daughter.
The stuff I've seen in this show is vanilla compared to the experiences I've witnessed.
And those kids always got away with it. Always.
Pure evil is not a myth anon, they live among us.
Anon, this show is a drop in the bucket compared to what 3DPD have done and continue to do.
Its not realistic because Aya has not died nor picked up Stockholms syndrome yet
Bragging while not providing details is a sin on an image board anon.
Who the fuck cares? It is over the top as fuck, stop showing off your made up super edgy experiences.
She was subdued at that point, though. We are talking about Pink and not Cranberry, right? If Cranberry, she's guilty of that too.
Two fucking times already, I was promised rape and was severly dissapointed. 0/10, dropped.
I'm talking about Cranberry. And yes, Cranberry was just as busy running her mouth instead of her yo-yo, but she's shown as having gone insane with a lust for revenge.
To be fair, it does reflect the bullying problem in Japan's schools (and society, to an extent).
That episode was a blast.
Aya's smile will not be protected, holy shit! Next episode will feature double bullying courtesy of onii-chan x Nijimin. And I have a sneaking suspicion that she will lose her one and only true tomodachi before the end.
This show turned out to be very entertaining. I am looking forward to see how many more fucked-up girls they can introduce, torment and kill off in the coming episodes.
Nijimin A CUTE!
Would you let her user her magic pantsu stick on you?
I think I have this figured out. It's like a chinese browser MMO; stripped of everything except basic functionality and the rewards suck. But it's still providing just enough bare minimum enjoyment with minimum effort invested to keep the target audience's attention.
That in itself is a kind of art.
This latest episode was all negativity and depression (that knife stick was ridiculous) but still managed to create a weak sense of security in the pact of the girls and the fact Yatsumura will be staying at Aya's place, which may give some sort of protection against her brother.
Still it's all overshadowed by what's necessarily going to have to come, which is what creates motivation to keep watching.
>Would you let her user her magic pantsu stick on you?
Sure, after I used my dickstick on her.
Suddenly the plot turns inside out as expected and a flood of Nijimi faces. The new girl is crazy cute.
>the possibilities of the internet
I thought it wasn't realistic because of the magical powers.
Will this part be animated? If so very excited. If not, time to read the manga.

>it does reflect the bullying problem in japan
Predictable fucking faggot.
This week's episode was pretty gay.
I'm not sure if I ever saw such an open invitation for doujin artists.
>literal tranny using the girl's toilet
What the fuck japan? Don't let these LGTB freaks get into my animes.
Oh my goodness, THE YURI IS REAL! This makes me happy. Seeing Aya happy also makes me happy because she is so precious. Although I suppose these kinds of episodes only exist to set the stage for the suffering that's about to come. This was the calm before the storm if I ever did see one.
I hope you guys appreciated how well the bath scene was animated. Top-shelf fan servisu that was. This whole episode was great, actually. Nijimin a best!
>all the fanservice and healing of pink bitch
>Nijimin only gets betrayed and then basically killed
I so fucking knew this. Nijimin didn't deserve this.
>Nijimin a best!
This. Nijimin has just the right balance of insane and cute. I want to lewd her when she making her cute faceswith the promise of pulling outthen stay waist deep while she makes the insane angry faces. The yuri should be good and pure assuming it survives even 2 days after the tempest. This is probably the last blood free episode too with the shit starting likely next week.
The trap is the most dangerous of the new characters while the others are sluts except the selfharm girl. The handshakes are definitely related to his stick and probably his insurance policy against betrayal. For whatever reason blonde is different though. Was she wearing Nijimins pantsu all day? Will Nijimin ever wear pantsu until she gets them back?
>big titted hag gets excused and healed
>cute small girl gets betrayed and killed
I'm getting Frenda/Mugino vibes here.
You don't know the half of it yet. We dont know what happened to Nijimin if anything.
Yeah, but we did see her best friend getting killed by psycho bitch, and the worst part is that pink bitch didn't just do it, but enjoyed it, laughed about it, but now all that's been excused because reasons.
Well she did make a deal to kill pink once the tempest crap is sorted out. We all know pink will die due to magic overuse before Nijimin or even the tempest does her in.
Sadly Nijimin dies before anyone else now, so she will never get any satisfaction and I hate it
There was some excellent fanservice this episode. Plus the attitude for most of the episode was comedic and positive. Immense suffering ahead in next episode. I'm looking forward to the bullying.
The fact that we saw lewd pink bitch turned fanservice value to negative, so it was hot shit.
Fuck anyone who tolerates that piece of shit.
Suddenly bathing and living with the girl who a few days ago was trying to kill both of them is a huge jump. But nothing in this show makes sense if you think too much/at all so enjoy the not bloodbath while you can.
I certainly don't enjoy it with that bitch, especially because she is an ugly arrogant cowtit shit to boot.
Does Aya have the face of someone who holds grudges?
Nope. Aya is pure. Blonde obviously can hold grudges.

> In a later chapter a twink Japanese kid almost gets raped by a literal gay nigger, it's not supposed to be taken seriously.
He's not wrong.
Are there any other obvious degenerate injections in this meant to finally destroy the fabrics of conservative japanese society?
This show bothers me because nobody in it has a nose and I feel compelled to draw them in.
It's an addiction.
You are doing God's work anon. This is the closest thing this board has had to OC in years.
>ruining cute girls with big ugly 3DPD hooknoses
>haha yes epic OC fellow /a/nonymous
We're wise to your tricks, merchant.
>This is the closest thing this board has had to OC in years.
Pay more attention to your surroundings. It's not that uncommon.
>caring about diminutive noses
Anime isn't for you.
No see it's not even that they're small the noses are straight up gone.
>Caring about noses at all
Theyre vestigal organs on 2D.
She clearly has a nose, look at the dot bottom left of her right eye. Are you blind or something?
This theory is supported by Krillin's fight against Bacterian.
This is what I've been waiting for
That was hilarious. Some of the best faces of the show might be in that scene alone. No idea what the writer is thinking introducing police this late in the game. Let oniichan go on a rampage. I hope Aya does not go home tonight. It will not end well for her.
Obscene levels of smug right here. How can little girls even think about competing with the grand wizard of disdain and superiority.
>tfw heartbrows will never chuchu your hage
I've got half a mind to walk into the ocean myself.
>has no problem withholding information and potentially killing all of her friends because she doesn't want the brother that strangles and beats her to get hurt
This show astounds me again with it's ass-backwards moralfaggotry.
