Cute Musical Miku Edition

Reposting from the last thread. I think Ufotable does a great job on the fate series, so I feel bad just torrenting the first Heaven's Feel movie and I want to buy it because they genuinely deserve the support for such a great job. But its REALLY difficult to find a reasonable route to buy it. The movie website https://www.fatestaynightusa.com/1st/blu_ray/ has links that don't work, but I agree with those prices and they seem fair. Amazon is complete fucking bullshit with the pricing and has it marked up almost double. I looked into it more and am I just SOL because the preorders may have dried out?

Also I have no clue about dvd region shit, I can't think of anything worse than spending that much on a series/movie to find out that it won't play on my computer. Why does that gay shit exist, this is why people torrent.

 No.888800

Also I think it would be really nice to have a real disc anime versus digital only. The special edition had a lot of nice looking stuff with it.

Customs are always a risk, as mentioned last thread the one time I had that happen was with a fumo and some ero stuff, and it came to me with a notice that it had been opened for quarrantine because Australia's picky about that (rightfully given out previous experiences with introduced pests). Could've been worse. As for parents, don't go parading your porn to them but unless they're the invasive sort I wouldn't worry. Even better though is having ones that are chill. Like I've literally had a time where I was cleaning my room and had all my doujin stuff (some H but I did sandwich it with innocuous stuff) piled in the spare bedroom, and funny circumstances necessitated that they had to shift them somewhere else. Similarly when I went interstate they moved things out of a unit I was in temporarily for study, including my daki.

The lighting in that picture is completely diffused so there's no dramatic shadowing. And they made the eyes pointed straight ahead instead of looking down at an angle, giving more the impression of a fighter about the punch you in the face, rather than an owner about to step your face into the dirt. What a shame. If the eyes were focusing downwards you could put it above you on the top of a display, deep in the shadows, only dimly illuminated by the light leaking out of the display case, forever looking down in contempt.

It's not silly at all. Presentation is actually one of the most important aspects of Japanese cuisine. High end kaiseki restaurants can spend upwards of $100,000 a year on new tableware to match the seasons and dishes.

"Japanese cuisine is deceptively simple. Its key ingredients are but two: dashi and shoyu. Its key requirements are also two: the pristine freshness and prime condition of materials used, and beauty of presentation." - Shizuo, Tsuji. (1980). Japanese Cooking: A Simple Art.

How can I support dedicated Japanese artisans? I have an event coming up where a tasteful and small handmade gift made in Japan would be very appropriate. Something like a nice wooden-handle kitchen knife in the Y30,000+ range, or maybe a beautiful rice bowl. Something personal, but with a lot of reverence, as it's for a senpai of mine as a gift of thanks for his teachings. I've found a bunch of artisan websites with links to the retailers in major cities like new york or san fran which stock their products, but not many that will actually ship those products.

 No.895481

>>895472

A proxy or forwarding service will probably be your best bet; These are detailed in the buyfags.moe guide.

The bad news is that all the money you save by buying straight from the source will be spent on shipping, or possibly customs if you don't lie about an item's worth/ship it smartly.

The good news is that you'd be supporting Nips directly.

 No.895483

>>895481

Thank you for your reply. The thought of a forwarding service occurred to me, but unfortunately I'd have to know exactly what I want before I could use them, and that's where having a website to browse comes in handy. I've kept trying since posting and found a couple sites that sold goods as well as high quality green teas and matcha, so maybe a set of high quality teas would make a good gift also, because the guy probably already has knives and bowls and whatnot. Of course, as a plebian, I'm not sure what exactly makes a fine tea or what the best sources would be

I'm looking at:

rikumo.com/collections/tea-treats/products/organic-kanayamidori-loose-leaf-green-tea

There are a few different kinds, so I may get one of each, but then still, it's the issue of paying some weebcuck hipster middleman instead of a hardworking nihonji. If you're most concerned with middling middlemen then hibiki-an is probably the place to buy since they're an actual tea farm that sells directly. The google streetmaps address turns up this image of a rather small tea farm.

After payment I'll just change the shipping address to yours. How is the general quality of ebay Chinese figure knock offs? I just made a order for a figure that preordered for near $200 and now sells for $400 and the knockoffs range in price from $20-40 depending on the seller.

Also I'm the guy from a few threads ago whose amiami order got fucked by amiami and I told them there were dishonorable and I would order a charge back. Amiami ended up giving me a partial refund everything but the shipping and I made a charge back and got everything back. So amiami ended up paying me about $150 to not buy anything.

Of all the things in the world why would you even dare suggesting Funko shits as above cheap figs? At least go with that other variety of small mass-produced figs (nendoroids?) since they look like anime, and not deformed 3D indie pixel art.

I only just entered the thread, and that's like saying fap to scat because he likes watersports. Even cheap and nasty figs are infinitely better than Funkos, and the only non-Western things they deal with is mainstream stuff anyway (well mainstream-ish, there's a Miku one for example).

My mistake. I just assumed you were the other anon (>>898567). Prize figs are fine when you're on a strict budget, or when you can't find/they haven't made a figure of a particular character - they certainly have there place. Chinese knockoffs, however, are absolutely awful and look several times worse than prize figs and don't support the industry in anyway. You don't buyfag just for plastic butts, but also to support the anime/manga you like.

 No.898575

Yeah fair enough I don't really like supporting that either, but sometimes you have to turn to desperate measures to get the character you want, and I don't see any reason in recommending cancer over influenza.

They aren't even anime/manga figures they are from vidya, xenoblade 2 Homura and Hikari. Even still I'm not going to pay a week or a week and a halfs pay to support the industry. If figures were reasonably priced I would be glad to buy a couple figures or even blu-rays. Manga aside I've only bought one thing to support the "industry" and that was the steins gate blu-ray. Pic related are the figures. First is the real. I 2nd and 3rd the fakes. They look pretty good only visible difference I can see is the tips of the swords aren't translucent.

What's a good site to make custom wallpapers? Most sellers have if where the fabric is attached to a tube like in the second pic instead of being wrapped around the tube so the edges of the wall scroll is still a part of the image. Usually only official ones do that but I've come across random seller who have done that too but they're not always around.

Reposting because I'm a retard

So I've come across a problem where I'd actually like to buy some shit, in this case manga, but I don't know the best way to do so. Normally I just torrent or read less-than amazing online scans, but if I want to support an author or artist what would be the best way to buy their product? The way I see it I have two options: 1. I buy physical copies from a publisher/amazon, or 2. I buy digital. Physical copies would be nice, but manga especially can take up a shit ton of space and it's generally more expensive. Buying digital would be cheaper and take up less room, but every digital book is bogged down by platform and drm; which just makes me want to pirate it anyway because why pay money for proprietary bullshit.

I realize that I might just be autistic and to many this is a non-issue, but I'm unfortunately hung up on this. What do you buyfags do?

 No.901242

>>901239

Did you try reading the guide?

 No.901244

>>901242

Yeah, I read the guide. It was somewhat helpful, but it mostly just lists where to get shit and that's not my issue. Maybe it's just a moral thing I don't know. I want to buy physical/digital goods to support the shit I like but my instincts tell me it's all suboptimal. You can buy volumes upon volumes of manga that you'll enjoy for a few reads but mostly they'll just take up space on a shelf and look nice, which I kinda want to avoid. On the other hand I can buy digital but DRM and restrictive platforms just feel gross. Maybe I just don't love this shit enough to actually buy it and be a buyfag, maybe I'm just a pirate at heart. My problem is that I'm an autistic consumer, and you can't look that up in a guide.

In hindsight I don't think it was worth 40$. Its made from polyester and the print inside animu isn't as clear as in the promo pics, also I've found ties with a very similar pattern in nicer materials for less in local stores.

That's just my $0.02 though.

I actually do sleep on the floor, on a very thin foam mattress that is similar to a traditional Japanese futon in look and, most importantly, feel. And yes, you are right; It's the most wonderful sleep in the world. Not to mention not having to deal with the hassle and expense of a pig disgusting western bedding arrangement.

I simply meant that I sleep sandwiched between two dakis when I mentioned "third panel not included."

Every anon should consider ditching their beds and join the floor master race.

 No.911375

So after spending a few nights with two dakis, I've decided I can't do it - it's just too cramped. I'm amazed at how much bigger the DHR7000 is compared to the Cospa 160x50 inner pillow. For now Hifumi occupies a place in my living room while Manako has taken over my bed.

 No.911386

I just keep a "short daki" (5 foot model instead of a standard) and then my cat likes sleeping on top of said daki, so when my eyes are closed and the daki's on top of me and the cat's on top of the blanket between him and the daki, it feels like my waifu is nuzzling into my chest.

I spoon her when I feel like spooning her, and I sleep with her on top of me when I feel like feeling her on top of me. They're both excellent experiences, though if you can add weight, the latter is much more relaxing. I suggest placing a couple weights inside the pillow case on the opposite side from the one you're cuddling and trying out my strategy if you don't have a cat. It really can't be beat.

You would probably want to find a good way of putting the weights inside the pillow inner rather than the case itself. And then while you're at it add a way to heat up the pillow from the inside like an electric blanket.

>>911484

I'd say the only way a futon is "inferior" to a bed is that you can have an extra-tall frame for your bed to use the undercarriage as storage space, but then a proper futon can be folded up into the corner of the room. But then if you get a foldable futon, you can't make full use of a futon frame with drawers on it.

What a thing of beauty. I got one as well just a month ago and it's been blowing my mind every night.

Cost a small fortune too, what with getting something of that size and weight shipped through a forwarding service. Hyaku persento worth it though, no regrets. I think falling asleep with my daki is the best part of the day.

Before this I had a "premium" memory foam-stuffed body pillow from Amazon but it was no where near as comfy as this and was also some weird non-standard size that was too small for the daki causing my waifu's feet to hang limp while also causing the unpleasant event of the pillow rotating on its side in proportion to the daki. An ugly sight to be sure.

I had that when I used a 150x50 inner pillow with a 150x50 daki. Using the 160x50 cospa inner pillow with a 150x50 daki worked pretty well. I still get annoyed that the daki itself is not 100% filled out (it's mainly the corners that don't get filled), but the 7000 is a dramatic improvement and I plan on getting a few more.

Amazon.jp is pretty cool. 50 dollars off standard price with free 4 day shipping. Package was pretty secure. Thank god this one comes apart as well as it does.

Is there a reason her figure is not listed on MFC?

Is she a non-Japanese character or manufactured in a non-Japanese country?

Yes, it is chink shit (girls front line). Makes sense

Yep, MFC has a staunch policy regarding their refusal to host non-Japanese figures. Sorry, anon.

That is pretty gay if you ask me.

Look what I finally got. Box got a bit crushed during shipping but the insides are ok. I'll iron it out and probably hang it up, it is some beautiful artwork. I can't wait to build it.

God damn this is expensive. I will never ever be able to justify spending this much on plastic dolls.

What countries are these active buyfags who have hundreds of dollars of this shit from? I doubt many are east europoors like me, I am guessing 90% rich westerners and countries with very generous neetbux?

What's the deal with those kaizous on yahoo auction? I'd really like a reasonably priced nude variant of figures that don't have that, but even ignoring the risk of yafuoku in general, a lot of the sellers have gibberish names, very few reviews, and use the same stock images. Not talking about the high end ones by well known sculptors. Do they just grab a bunch of bootlegs, touch them up, and resell them?

I got a cute clock and a bodily hat.

 No.918552

>>918166

Would you ever wear that hat outside? I have a few tshirts but only really wear them around the house or making a trip to the drive thru

 No.918668

I might wear it outside - it's not like it screams anime to everyone. I wear my Eagle Jump hat around as well. I have two pretty low key yuru camp shirts that I wear around on the odd occasion as well.
