We usually don't do the tour thing, but the time we have I've called our nursery/my room just a storage room and immediately moved on (i.e. "this one's just storage, but over here's the master bedroom").
The nursery thing is definitely hard for a couple that prefers sleeping together. I think the vast majority of them that do the crib thing either sleep in one together and/or sometimes take turns. In a strictly parent/baby relationship, there's probably not gonna be a crib.
Myself, I fucking hate sleeping with someone else. I'm a really light sleeper and it takes me 15+ minutes to get to sleep, so my partner falling asleep first (which he always does) means hours of laying there with my eyes closed listening to light snores and wincing at small fidgets, just hoping to finally get to my 4 hours of restless sleep. Sucks big time. Separate bedrooms, as well a nursery, actually works out pretty well given that.
