Has anybody ever tried to make their own plastic pants? I have taken a trashbag and punched small holes in it, then put my legs into said holes. it streaches to form a water tight seal, but they are loud as fuck and one time use. Plus, it honestly doesnt feel like a diaper, it feels like your wearing a trashbag. I want to try to make my own pair of plastic pants that are

1) reasonably quiet

2) re-usable (they are not destroyed by wearing them once)

3) water-proof

4) easy to hide (they can be compressed and shoved into a drawer, or behind a cabinet or something)

How does one go about doing this? what materials do I use? where do I get said materials? where do I get patterns, etc, etc

I would love to have something that has a nice smooth/soft texture, not thin flimsy/crinkly plastic. But not something like rubber that sticks to you.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, has anybody ever tried pumping peanut butter up your butt and then diapering up to see what happens?

Just buy some rubber pants OP, they're IMO better than plastic.

The proper way involves a lot of clothesmaking knowledge which I don't have. I suggest you search for tutorials on how to make plastic pants for babies. The principles will be the same.

For patterns, you can either use trial and error with cheap cloth to refine the design, or you could solve it analytically using a 3D modelling program and something akin to the UV unwrapping process.

One idea I did have, which may be a terrible idea, is to use the spray-on super-hydrophobic waterproofing coating to make a pair of tight-fitting underwear into a moisture barrier. I doubt they could hold any significant quantity of free-flowing pee, but they could easily prevent it from soaking from one absorbent layer to another.

I've heard a good way to get a pattern is to just trace a disposable brief that fits you, cut it out in cloth, then sew a waterproof lining into it with some soft piping so it seals. Of course, you add your choice of fastener. Buttons, velcro, snaps, whatever.

One thing I considered was taking some plastic material (probably also a bag because fuck ruining a perfectly good tarpaulin) and sewing it into a pair of lace-up shorts I have along with some extra material around the crotch to make a seal, but I never got around to it because consistent and pretty needlework is hard and typical shorts don't go up high enough anyway.

Do you want these for preventing leaks, or to use cloth diapers?

idealy both. but primarily for improv cloth diapers. I have found that a towl folded up can be pretty absorbant, so long as you have something waterproof to contain it.

Aaaah, I remember the days when I was a young fetishist living with my parents when I was in highschool. No mail ordering anything there. Had to make everything from scratch. What a pain that was.

First of all, do you have access to a sewing machine? If not, well, get comfy because hand sewing is a bitch. Particularly when elastic is involved.

YOU WILL NEED: VINYL SHEETING from your local fabric store. That's as good as you're going to be able to do, this stuff is usually used for windows on camping tents. 1" WIDE ELASTIC BAND usually sold for making waistbands. Recall this will be against your skin, so don't buy anything you think will chafe like a bitch. SOME SORT OF THREAD I'd suggest polyester if you can get it. Deals with water better.

Believe it or not, patterning this shit is way easier than you'd think.

Notice the shape in the picture above? You pretty much fold over the length of vinyl you want in two, then you can cut it into a pattern with the two leg holes at about 45 degree angles from the crotch. The top should be about 0.75 to 1.5X the size of the pants you normally wear.

Leg holes are a bit more tricky, but trial fit the garment by pulling it up between your legs like a diaper and pinching the sides near the bottom. The leg holes should be fairly loose, but not overly so. The waist hole should be fairly huge, as it's the part that's going to have to swallow up your diapers.

Next comes the most difficult part, sewing the elastic. You'll need to stretch out the elastic a certain length before sewing it on, otherwise it won't gather the plastic. Stretch it out on a flat surface and use pins to anchor it so it stays stretched, then you must fold it in half around the plastic and pin it in place. Then sew it into place and release the pins. Afterwards, just sew up the sides and pull them inside out and you're good to go!

Honestly you'd be better off just getting some cheapie ones off of hamazon if you can. You'll spend about the same and save yourself a lot of trouble. Hell, even the ones at www.fetware.com have better materials and are still in the 25 dollar range.

Food for thought.

Are you looking to make plastic pants for the EXPERIENCE or are you looking to make them for cost savings?

That's a very important question. If it's for cost savings, I'm willing to bet once you consider your time investment and actual cost of raw materials, it's just cheaper to buy em.

If it's for the experience:
