You are right. With my stories - From a boy's point of view; I write as if I was that person.

Didn't a lot of them come from old usenet groups? That might count for something.

I suppose that people stopped writing now that visual material is easily obtainable.

The writing community is alive and well, but almost exclusively older people write.

That is especially true for the commonly acknowledged must read stories.

I feel a big influx of bad writers lately on the more public boards. Maybe an influx of the new mainstreamers?

I think it's a lost art that peaked years ago, there are still quality writers(mostly those from this very time), but little new blood in the quality department.

But with time comes experience so maybe in a few years we will have a new golden age?
