This board is meant to be /tech/ without all the politics and retards.
I have no idea whether it'll take off and become stable but I figure it's better than hiding half of the threads on /tech/.

I think a format like The Little Schemer would work better. Sadly it's not under CC.
Here's an example chapter for those who don't know it:

OP is a fag and starts with an 8chan thread image downloader:

It's used to create a thumbnail of a cover (if your covers are in the same folder as your album's songs), stock it in a cache and copy it somewhere (tmp here). You can then use conky to exec the script and display it, like pic related.

No politics? Does that mean no one here is interested in free licences and how they could be applied/effect the video game industry? I come from >>>/lv/ where we believe the two do not need to be exclusive.

 No.105

License choice is much more of an artistic decision in vidya than it is in software. Dunno where that leads.

I don't know if this is relevant here, but I found this board about doxing, and I hope people might contribute to it. Here's a thread with some info in it:
https://8chan.co/dox/res/12.html
(Please don't advertise the board where it should not be advertised)
Pic unrelated.

File: 1417885214420.png (363.42 KB, 1770x1000, 177:100, doxing101.png)

Is doxing this hard you need to learn it? Most information is just a search query away.

But have an /i/nsurgent wiki:
http://insurgen.org/index.php/Dox
And some social engineering books also have chapters on "information gathering" that might be useful.

 No.89

I've seen this stuff before. It can be useless sometimes, and I've heard from an anon that there's more to doxing than that.

I only use my desktop for games and now using windows has become painful. Everything seems so slow without a tiling WM. I was waiting for GNU/Linux to have more games to do a full switch, but sometime soon I'll just double boot.

Also this.

You can backup files easily, and then just copy tiny config files, format, paste the old config files, and your back to your old setup.

That would be an issue if there were serious performance losses in using python. In this case, they are probably negligible, and it being python probably makes the code much easier to maintain.

You're a tech student, 'big social topics' as a CV line reeks of PHB/non-tech studies to me. You could still come up with nice interview arguments for this topic, in 30min time or so.

 No.62

>>61

I should have been more specific - discussion of the topics isn't for the CV, but would look good in a blog that your CV points to. That and work you do can revolve around it, for example showing implementations of different security systems that relate to the topics you're interested in.

It's just something to show you have wide knowledge of and interest in the industry.

 No.63

>>57
The only thing you need is experience writing something that is more than one file of source code, or really cool otherwise. In general you don't have knowledge of the industry until you've been in it.

I'm not saying you have to, I'm saying it reflects better on you if you do.
