I enjoy the freedom of alternatives for just about every piece of the OS that can be replaced based on need for complexity or simplicity.

I only use my desktop for games and now using windows has become painful. Everything seems so slow without a tiling WM. I was waiting for GNU/Linux to have more games to do a full switch, but sometime soon I'll just double boot.

You can backup files easily, and then just copy tiny config files, format, paste the old config files, and your back to your old setup.
