How are you affording your own place without talking to anyone at all? Also, I go to community college. It's not a great place for making friends. It's nothing like a real university. There are no parties, mostly kids who live at home or young adults who work too much just to support themselves to have much free time. That being said it isn't impossible. I've made friends at community college, people there just aren't that outgoing, or intelligent for the most part. Some go for financial reasons like I said, but a lot of people there are borderline braindead. It's a real shit-show. I'm going back here in about two weeks, and I'm pretty excited.
