Girls dread awkward social encounters more than being raped. 70% of women fantasize about being raped. Not a single one has ever fantasized about a guy small-talking her pants off. Now this obviously needs more explaining. Be funny, you can't force being funny, but anyone can be funny. You just need to be comfortable enough with yourself to say something silly. Anyone can do it if they aren't trying to do it.
The biggest thing that made me "interesting to women" in my personal opinion is reading books. Not shitty mystery novels, but things like pop-psychology, and non-fedora philosophy. Girls dont give a shit about either in their own right, but it gives you a much wider perspective on the world, and you will magically see things in a new and interesting light, which will give you plenty to talk about
