If you want anyone to work with you, you have to prove yourself working alone first. Time is precious, no one is going to waste theirs working with someone that is (statistically speaking) overwhelmingly likely to either flake out halfway through, or be an assclown ideaguy that can't do anything but wants to be in control anyway.
I know, it's tough having to do everything yourself and being limited by the skill you're worst at. That's why you need to be creative and find projects that you can learn from and use to prove yourself to others, that don't require you to use that skill. For you, that might mean drawing a bunch of concept art, assets, and mockups, making some maps, mods, or "romhacks" for existing games, or contributing art to an open source project. For a programmer, it might mean making an ASCII game or one based off of free art assets, or recreating a famous game or engine from scratch.
