You need to have money to make money selling to filthy casuals. They will buy or D/L what they see at the top of the app store, so people with botnets sell you downloads, you can also pay to advertise that shit.

I bet you're thinking Flappy Bird was a surprise smash hit? No, it was a shitty game that was an incomplete ripoff of another game, but a botnet was paid to get it to the top of the app store and the moronic people (esp journalists) swooned over it because they are filthy casuals who don't care the quality of what they play as long as it is a simple distraction.

There are so many simple distractions that you need to shill even good games very hard just to get it noticed, let alone break even, to say nothing of profit.

If you want to make a game, then start by learning to code on whatever platform you are going to release it on. If you can't code, do a shitty Gamemaker game.

I hope you have money to make money (probably not if you need money). Try out Mechanical Turk if you're desperate.

I don't think I've seen solid evidence tying flappy-bird to a botnet. Seems to me that botnet action looks really similar to "shitty game goes viral" action, and maybe some people are just ass-mad that they aren't the ones who made big $$$ off dumb casuals

No botnet was necessary. Pewds played it, little kids with cell phones sent it to the top and then their casual parents picked it up after that

I really think it was a combination of many factors. Botnet, kids, luck. The fact the game disappeared imho confirms he used bots and didn't want people to find out.

"When Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen removed his ultra popular app from the App Store back in February, he gave little explanation for the surprising decision, aside from a short message stating he could no longer take the attention."

Sorry but I smell serious bs here. Unless he cheated, he wouldn't be so scared. It IS possible, I admit, but highly unlikely. Especially when he starts talking about "causing addiction".

No thank you.

It tells you how to do shit, you can easily apply the fundamentals to any other language and platform.

>oh woe is me I can't copy paste this code and add some shit graphics myself to make muh killer app gorillion dollars

d6b70d No.19343

Well, at the very least you could give it a shot since valve seems to be intent on pushing fucking shitty cookieclickers on PC gamers, and some are actually falling for it with that hero shit and adventure capitalists being top of the F2P garbage heap, which is to say the only free games that make any money on steam.

Try ripping them off, it works on mobile. If you're desperate, then what have you got to lose?

993747 No.19425

How do you integrate facebook and paypal into it again?

Wait a second... where's the Xcode in those resources download?

It didn't give me a link to download the real Xcode/SpriteKit

So anyone wanna talk about puzzle game ideas? I remember playing Puzzle Pirates and having fun because you could move the pieces anywhere you wanted instead of having to do everything in 1 turn.

1c6ecd No.21018

Newbies should learn how to action to code.

For example 2 switches per move without reset should be a piece of cake, but obviously they'd learn faster if we just told them the code.
