This is the first chapter of my latest project, which is actually the sequel to another game I made a couple of years ago. It's a 2D point and click adventure similar to Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, etc. Created using the Adventure Game Studio engine.

If you want to play the first game, here is the link to it:

Been checking it out. Pretty decent so far. Some decent jokes, and I enjoyed the password puzzle, even if I got annoyed at trying to find a pattern between the digits and then recognized one was just a range.

But, I got to the next bit and now I honestly have no idea what's going on. Located the talisman, even if I'm not sure how to use it yet with what pops up, but I can't locate a spider in any of the hinted locations (under furniture, in corners, in a potted plant). I mean, there just aren't that many locations, and there are no plants, so that leaves corners and furniture and I've checked all those. Unless it's just a pixel hunt, in which case I can't be bothered in 2015. Come far enough that there should be some indicators.

As for the blood, same thing. I have a total of 4 locations (hall, bathroom, staff room and my room) to look for the hinted dried blood but there isn't anything that would give me any idea where to look. For example, in an oldschool adventure game, usually you'd have an idea to look in a couple of locations, such as the medical room, etc. And you'd start there. Maybe you'd find the blood but then have trouble removing it. But not even being able to find it, and having no leads on either the spider or the blood... eh, I gotta say, did my due diligence, but probably can't get up the motivation to keep slogging around. Problem with indie P&C adventure games is that you aren't 100% sure they'll always be fair, but they absolutely need to be fair and unfortunately somewhat on the easy or obvious side most of the time, because there are no guides available for them for when you get stuck.

Just my 2 cents, but I liked a lot of what I saw. Good work. BTW, I have an inkling that you might be a 420ch poster from the FUCK THE POLICE poster with the frogs, which seems to show up most often over there, as well as the psys.

Here's a few tips:

There are quite a few more locations than just the ones you've been to so far. There's something you need to do for the night staff in order to gain access to the rest of the facility. Once you get there you should have no trouble finding the spider or the blood. Also, I suspect what you think is the talisman is not actually the talisman.

Also, I can assure you there are no pixel hunts in any game I have made or ever will make, it peeves me to no end when devs do that on modern games. I think my game's pretty fair, but I'll let players be the judge I suppose lol. There's one puzzle I've had a few complaints about, but other than that it's a pretty above-board type of game, nothing too excruciating.

Technically I got the two poster in the bedroom images from halfchan, but I've been to 420chan from time to time as well.

Glad you like it so far, hope you end up finishing :D

Oh, well, shit, I just assumed that because the door on the left part had an EXIT sign above it and grating on the window, it must be the facility exit and not lead to another hallway. Hmmm. Is there a description on it at least to indicate this? Some kind of sign on the wall might help as well. (To Main Hallway or the like? It felt to me before that if I opened that door I'd be stepping outside.)

Because of that I figured getting through there would have to come after the spell was finished. I do know the mirror hint was something about doing something for the guy, too, but again, coming later was fixed in my mind. Maybe my own fault though.

OK, the fucking nutmeg is killing me. Nobody's giving me any hints other than YOU REALLY GOTTA HAVE THAT SHIT, protagonist says he's done with the machine, implying I can't get it there, I've tried all the nut varieties, when I dispense water it says I need to have it before I can make the potion...

I dunno, not really sure where to go after this.

Try asking the girl upstairs about the nutmeg. Keep on her about it.

It originally was the exit, then I decided to make the game longer and made it the door to the hallway instead.

Well OP, I gotta say, I wasn't expecting a hell of a lot, and I was pleasantly surprised. That was a pretty fun little experience. When I got to the end of Ch 1 and thought for a second there would be more of the game (which was very surprising for an indie adventure game) I got pretty excited, gotta admit.

From the start with that godawful rendition of Ring of Fire, the weird shit in the backgrounds... that bizarre intro a bit later... subtle references like "you gotta do the cooking by the book..." Yeah, I enjoyed it. Thanks for making a shitty nodev Tuesday a little bit better.

7.8/10, would recommend.
