don't worry about the third, it's in baguette simply coz i'm baguette. (i would preferably work with an european, coz of the timezones).

looks terrible

you just trace photos with no clear understanding of light or anatomy

the pupils of Chavez are far too small, for example

any faggot can trace, they don't need you for it

Anon, I'm not a dev yet, so you can't help me, but I think I might be able to helpyou.

Your shadows aren't strong enough, when starting out treat solid stuff, people, rocks etc. like they're made out of separate clumps of light and dark, that might help. You also need that Fresnel effect+contour (dunno how this is called in 2D). I had this exact thing happening to me, when I tried to be a drawfag. Sort of scaled down my ambitions in that field since then myself, but I never stopped looking for good learning materials.

Anyway, you should to go to haklfchunk's /ic/ and dl the manuals from the artbook thread if you didn't yet. Ham, Hampton Hoggarth, Vilppu, Loomis and so on. Also register at cgpeers and dl new masters academy, ctrl+paint and Watt's atelier videos. I swear on me mum's loif they'll accelerate your progress.

I swear I'm not trying to patronize. Just help.

That was a joke. I'm sorry dude, but pictures you've posted are traces and relatively bad ones. Game assets most likely will require you to draw something from imagination or using references at best, and often within some sort of style. Tracing is just a no go, why would you advertise your skills with traced images?

First, start by posting your non-traced works.

Second, try drawing assets instead of portraits, it might be much easier than making actual, full-blown drawings, and you might be actually already decent with it.

Third, this board has very little number of active posters on it so eh.

And last advice, if you won't find anyone to co-op with you, try game modding. There's a bunch of aspects that don't require actual gamedev, you'll have some basic reference assets and still be able to deliver your work to other people to get criticism.

Nobody wants this even for free.

Learn to draw something that's actually usable for a videogame, and then learn to draw it in a quality that's above the average programmer's art.

Go find a draw thread and take some requests if you just want to "draw something".
