No.11650
I thought I'd abandon my /a/ thread and move here after I saw that someone was banned for saying "I lol'd" under /a/'s rule against improper grammar.
As titled, this thread is dedicated to webms (mp4s, youtube embeds or nicovideo links are also acceptable) of MADs (with an emphasis on OtoMADs), MMDs, and YTPMVs (I'm assuming no one would object to this). I will be posting gachimuchi unless instructed otherwise (should this be spoilered, since it's technically porn?). Requests are welcome. If you don't like me posting here, feel free to say so; I don't post where I'm not wanted.
1. What is an OtoMAD?
An OtoMAD is a musical composition created by taking samples from various sources (gay porn, anime, and such) and remixing them into a song.
2. What is a YTPMV?
YTPMV is an acronym for YouTube Poop Music Video. It's the western equivalent of OtoMAD. They mean essentially the same thing, but in practice OtoMADs and YTPMVs typically use different samples.

Is /jp/ alright, or does it have to be anime related?
Webm related is an example of the kinds of things that I'd like to post but aren't explicitly anime related.

We also don't really have many YTPMVs, since I don't browse youtube for that kind of content. It would be nice if we had a few posters who did, however.
Touhou is anime
I deleted my last post (if anyone saw it) because I'm going to redo that webm.

Might want to decrease transparency slightly. Is the image stretched? I'm not sure about the font… The red colour text, and the blue colour text seems a bit jarrring.
No.12607
>>12606
The image is stretched, yes, but I thought it looked fairly acceptable. I'll decrease the transparency.
When you refer to the red colour text and blue colour text, are you referring to the text in the announcement near the top of the page?
Or do you mean to say that the link text color in threads looks jarring as well?

It is alright, but if you can fix it it will look miles better.
I mean the topbar red,and the blue at the top of posts. I can't put my finger on it but the colour seems wrong somehow.

you mean the image? What did you have in mind? I'd like it to cover the page.
>topbar red and the blue at the top of posts
you mean the red bar that displays when inside threads? and what blue at the top of posts? Like, expand all images/enable gallery mode?
I changed the transparency, should I decrease it again?

nevermind on the transparency question, I went ahead and changed the alpha to 0.9. I think it looks better.

The transparency seems better to me, perfect even.
I don't really have much in mind, but I do recommend that if you can find an image that isn't stretched to try it.
When I say the blue I mean the "File (hide)" blue colour.

>I don't really have much in mind, but I do recommend that if you can find an image that isn't stretched to try it.
The image is stretched to fit the page. This image was more or less what I was looking for, a scenic background with elements of Touhou and gachimuchi. It would be hard to find another image which meets those same specifications and has the right dimensions to fit the page. I guess I could try to crop the image I'm using at the moment, and then it wouldn't be distorted (if that's the right word), but I don't think there's really enough to crop.
>When I say the blue I mean the "File (hide)" blue colour.
The color for links, like (hide), is different from the default. I personally think the color looks fine, but there are some readability issues with some of the links on the page, so I might need to change it in the future. I think making the text bold might also help.
No.12616
>>12612
It looks like the issue is not all screens have the same dimensions, so if he wants to make a single background image that spans the screen it will only properly fit one type of monitor while stretching to fit the others.
If there's some way to right or left align it and make it blend into a background color you might be better off.
No.12618
>>12616
That's actually something I hadn't even considered, that the page dimensions would be different for different monitors. It looks about right on my monitor, but for others I can see how this might not be the case.
>If there's some way to right or left align it and make it blend into a background color you might be better off.
Blending it into a background color seems like it would be tricky. Because the image is outlined by many different colors.

I'm out of it and haven't touched CSS in months, but shouldn't you be able to set height and width percentages to the correct proportions so it maintains the aspect ratio? I think HTML manages the aspect ratio by itself if you set the width or height attributes to something. That would be the easiest assuming you have a way of changing element attributes.
No.12621
>>12620
You mean doing something like:
background-size: 100% 75%; (assuming that was the correct aspect ratio)?
That would be easy to do, and then I could center it in the middle of the page. The question is what I should do with the rest of the space.
I guess, since the white space would be on the top and bottom, I could maybe do like a gradient from dark blue to dark green? I'm not sure if that would work well though. I've also never experimented with gradients, but I don't imagine it could be too hard.
For reference, this is the original image: https://media.8ch.net/otomad/src/1434317586239.jpg

>>12621
Thats exactly what I was thinking.
No.12623
>>12622
This is trickier than I thought. I need to figure out a way to put the gradient behind the background, while still allowing the background to scale to the dimensions of the page at the correct aspect ratio. I currently have the background image set to the background-image property of the body, but I don't think that's going to work because it seems that background always has the lowest z-score, so I couldn't put anything behind it to catch the white space.

It's a bit of a long shot asking here, but would anyone like to play Age of Wushu with us? The game is VERY pvp focused, we keep getting pushed around by other guilds (much larger than ours) who keep trying to take our guild hall. We've been successful in defending it so far, even outnumbered 19v42, but it would be nice having some more people. It's a sandbox f2p game with very complicated mechanics and a steep learning curve. If you like games like dwarf fortress or anarchy online, you might enjoy it. There's definitely elements of p2w but the people who pay to win tend to be shitters who can be countered anyway.
There's also a secret faction of evil eunuchs that players can join, and if you have four other eunuchs in your group, you can forcibly castrate other players (or so I've been told).
